    I cant find any people

Try Elektro, Berezino, and NEAF.. People who don't go to Elektro go to Berezino/NEAF. Mostly you will find server hoppers at NWAF and Balota. These are the guys who will combat log as soon as they hear shots fired.

    Faith in DayZ players restored

I'm glad you had a good experience.. I try to provide them for other players as well, and I hope the karma comes back to me.. it has, at times.. and other times it doesn't. Usually when it doesn't, it's my own fault for lone-wolfing an airfield. On this life, so far, I spawned in Solnichny, and made my way to Elektro.. Someone shot at me with a .45 when I was coming out of the school house, but I managed to get away without taking damage.. I managed to track the guy to the hospital, where he was looting.. Made my way up the stairs, saw he was no longer on the 2nd floor, and moved up the stairs toward the roof when I heard him running back toward the stairs.. I came around the corner and slammed my splitting axe into his face.. I already had a Revolver with 0 Ammo, but took his .45 and the ammo he had for protection. Of course the guy was wearing a Payday mask. I scavenged what else I could off of him, and finished looting the western side of Elektro, and moved west. Made it to Balota, looted, and noticed it was already in the process of being looted, so I looped around and sat on the south side of the airfield, and waited.. 2 fully kitted guys in military gear came running out of the Police Station on the far East side of the Airfield.. My philosophy is - If they're on the coast in full military gear, they are NOT friendly.. I fired 2 shots from my Mosin and they both combat logged. Moved on to Zelenogorsk, Green Mountain, Veresnik military base, then NWAF.. Mostly uneventful.. At NWAF, I just finished looting the last police station on the north end of the airfield, and I heard a voice behind me, "Hello! Friendly!".. I turned and saw a guy standing there about 50m from me with a splitting axe.. Wearing a white bike helmet, blue Mnt Backpack, and still had his starting T-shirt on.. So, I started talking to him.. he had no weapons. He told me he just got to the airfield from Devils Castle, and that it was his first day playing StandAlone, and that he hadn't played DayZ Mod for about a year.. Needless to say, he had a lot to learn still. By this point I was carrying a .45 with 3 clips and 40 ammo.. A Revolver with 36 ammo.. a Mosin with 100 ammo, a long range scope, bi-pod, and PU Scope.. And an M4 that only need a Buttstock to be fully pristine, along with 2 30 Rnd Coupled mags for a total of 120 ammo. I pulled him into the police station I just looted, and gave him my .45, all the ammo for it, as well as my Mosin and the ammo for that.. Then took him up to the tents and helped him clear it, then up to the police station up north of the tents and got him well fed and hydrated.. he was thirsty before I met him.. Taught him how to get healthy status, and let him draw 2000 blood (2 blood bags) off of me, since I am O- blood type, and I can regenerate the blood back and he can use those to help others, or himself in a tight spot. I told him about our communities TS channel and we gave each other thanks, and we parted ways.. It always feels good to meet a potential friend. The latter part of my day would not have been possible if everyone was KOS.

What scenery can you shoot through ?

Doesn't DayZ operate off of a modified ARMA3 engine? I'm thinking whatever said in this video may actually hold true for SA, considering the similarities in engine. to the OP: I can confirm that rounds do indeed pass thru tents, wooden doors, and thin cover (aluminum fences/sheds.)... Anything more than that I do not have personal experience with.

    Changing/inconsistent bloodtypes

I'm O- and I have healthy status.. If you want to meet me on a server and collect 3-4 bags of my blood, send me a message thru the forums and we'll work something out.

    The Hero

    And now.. The She-ro.
  7. Topic pretty much sums it up.. Just got a new PC, been planning on doing recordings for a while now but haven't had the PC to pull it off properly. So far, my plan is to start with an introductory episode covering some of the basics of gearing up and getting yourself healthy and staying alive/safe. (This falls under "informative/educational"), then have following episodes introduce a cast of friends (guys I play with on a regular basis who are of like mind/age group), then start helping people out and focusing on player interactions/heroism/squad play.. But, before I get anything set in stone, I want to know what the community wants to see most.. What would you guys watch? What are you most interested by? What would keep you entertained? Currently I feel there's a lack of informative gameplay. I see a lot of people who run around shooting other players while their screen keeps flashing "You are hungry." I see YouTubers/Streamers picking up items which are "ruined" off dead bodies.. I see people holding down their Mouse2 button while zoomed in and causing themselves to "pant" because the held their breathe too long, which throws off their shot, the complaining about how inaccurate the mosin is... I see people carrying around loads and loads of food and drink, and meanwhile their screen is blurry and they don't have "healthy" status. So, pick as many as you see fit in the poll.. what do you want to see most and what do you feel the community needs most. Thanks for your cooperation/attention. Edit: Won't be starting the series until combat logging is ironed out. (hopefully soon).. Just gathering data and planning stuff at the moment.
  8. That would probably fall under banditry.. but honestly I simply don't play that way.. Sitting on rocks shooting fresh spawns is boring as fuck.
  9. In my opinion there are not a lot of "great videos" out there, right now.. There are a lot of mediocre ones, and a few "good" ones, but "great" ones are very hard to come by. Furthermore, it's difficult to get good footage for DayZ as it is.. I'd rather not spend 2-3 hours gearing up, then going to a more active place to hunt down spawn campers or help out fresh spawns, just to have people combat log, then ghost around, essentially ruining that footage.. There's also the fact that the game is not very well optimized at the moment and there's still a lot of lag when it comes to player movement.. It's hard to tell whether someone is actually moving in X direction, or if they're just lagging out.. you still see a lot of people walking through walls. All of these factors and more make it difficult to post a good ORGANIC episode, which is not "set up", like some youtubers resort to. You see, I work nights, one of my friends plays during the day, and another is currently in college, which means his schedule is very sporadic. If we're going to be doing episodes together, our play time needs to be scheduled, and a lot of it will have to be recorded to ensure we don't miss out on a potentially entertaining segment of our play time together.. I'd rather not waste my time chasing around some bandits who are just going to combat log as soon as they realize someone got the drop on them. Better to use our time playing together as efficiently as possible.. not to mention, I'd rather post videos for new-comers once a few things are ironed out.. I don't want the first impression of the game to be "oh wow look at how many combat loggers there are", which may turn people off to buying it.

An alternative to a "humanity" or "sanity" system.

Sorry about that.. posted in General Discussion first, then figured on second thought that it may be better suited for the Suggestions forum, in hopes that the dev team actually look here more often.
  11. Ruined clothing looks like shit, so cosmetically there is a disadvantage, but otherwise you're correct. I like the idea of backpacks losing slots when they are damaged/ruined. Scopes have cracks in them (except long range scope, which I assume is a bug). I don't believe magazines can be fired from when ruined, so there's that. Saline, Bloodbags, and other medical supplies should have a chance of failing/falling out/causing infection... Damaged bandages and rags should take longer to use, or have a chance of failing (and destroying the item in the process).. Damaged food items should have lower % of food/calories in them.. Damaged water containers should lose water over time, or be completely unable to contain water depending on how damaged they are.. (ruined = unable to hold water.. badly damaged = fast leak, damaged = slow leak, worn = no leak.) Damaged Melee weapons should do less damage. IE - Axes are duller, bats and crowbars are unwieldy and thus more difficult to get a proper swing with.. Ammo should have the possibility of jamming, backfiring, or just not working.. It's already been stated that shoes are going to wear down and eventually become ruined, which will cause you to take damage to your feet when running.. Tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, and hammers should stop functioning (when doing repairs, etc) Flashlights/headtorches should have cracks in them, and flicker on and off occasionally, until eventually failing.
  12. Here's how I remember.. O has no A or B antigen - has no + antigen + cannot donate to -, but - can donate to + A and B cannot donate to one another, so AB cannot donate to A or B, but can receive from both. O can donate to both A and B Thus, O- is universal donor, and AB+ is universal receiver.

    Hacks will destroy this game.

Hacks.. Ruining multiplayer games since Counter-Strike And yet, Counter-Strike was still one of the most played and longest running multiplayer FPS games in existence...With an excellent competitive community and lan tournaments all over the world.. Leagues that hosted thousands of games a year.
  14. Yeah, it's much easier to kick a door right next to the handle to kick it in, but the same concept works by just throwing your entire body weight against the door repeatedly to splinter the wooden frame and eventually knock it down.

    Second thoughts about my banditry..

There is no point in being a bandit. Gear? You get no gear from fresh spawns, and even geared peoples gear is ruined when you shoot them to death. Self-defense? What are fresh spawns going to do to you? Punch you to death? If you get knocked out by a fresh spawn, you deserve to lose your character... Proving you're an internet badass? Nobody is impressed by your ability to hold down the "fire" key in the general direction of unarmed players. So, what's the point of shooting everyone you see?

USE FOR PAPER IN DAYZ! a.k.a. How I play DayZ

Because everyone will have vehicles, right? No.. If the # of vehicles in SA is approximately the same as the # of vehicles in the mod, only a few groups of regulars on any given server will have vehicles for any extended period of time. Furthermore, I've noticed that most of the people who play DayZ can't drive for shit and just wreck their vehicles within an hour of having them anyway.

    Camo and Pesky Bandits.

There are plenty of slots in civilian clothing + hunting backpack.. you people are carrying too much food/ammo. I know, because when I am forced to kill you and I check your gear I find tons of useless shit, and food that you should have eaten a long time ago.

    Second thoughts about my banditry..

True heroes do not need recognition for their services.. You're not a hero.. Just an ego-maniac.
  19. This.. I am a fairly average sized guy. 5'9", about 170.. And I can kick most common doors down with little to no effort.. In fact, the heavier the door, the easier, since you're actually forcing the weight of the door to slam into the frame, which just bust the frame out unless (as stated in this post), the frame is reinforced. Dead bolt locks don't make a difference.
  20. Pro tip: Side strafe and swing your weapon (or fist) to the opposite direction you strafed.. Zombtards won't be able to hit you but you can hit them. But yes, those bugs need to be fixed. Dev team is aware of it and working on it.. don't worry.
  21. 1. Don't carry food.. Eat it all. I keep 1 bag of rice on me, and possibly pick up a few extra cans of whatever (or milk.. powdered milk is amazingly efficient for 1 item slot) if I need to give stuff to fresh spawns. 2. Don't carry around a half dozen map pieces. Maps can commonly be found in Black Cars, (The broken down sports car). Open the door, stand next to the car, and press "tab".. I will often find 2 pieces of a map in 1 car. They're also pretty common in Gas stations, and I've found them in industrials and residential as well.
  22. Or, you could save space, empty the ammo packs, then when you get shot and the ammo becomes "Ruined", you simply split it several times until all but 1 are Pristine again. YOU, are welcome. :) Re: Small Protective Cases - Try using only Pristine.. After being shot with ONE BULLET, they will probably become "Badly Damaged", and most of the materials on the inside WILL take damage, just not as much.

    Mosin 91/30 hit probabilities

There is no indication that guns actually have a "quality".. As far as anyone knows, the only quality of a gun is the quality of the parts you put on it. There would be a really easy way to test this, to be sure. 1. Find a gun 2. Find another gun 3. Shoot one gun with the other. 4. Pick up the gun you shot 5. Load gun 6. Shoot it. If it shoots, it's not "ruined", which means the gunshot to the gun did nothing, which means there is no "quality" of the gun itself. Also, you can "inspect" weapons, and all of them look the same. There is no visual indication of wear and tear (as there is on clothing, mags, gun parts, etc.) There are quite a few people ASSUMING guns have a hidden "quality" which simply isn't visible.. but as far as we know that's completely speculation and so far we have no reason to believe guns have any hidden qualities we can't see.
