You're supposed to care about your character..about your life. I SPARED his life. He tried to trick me several times and I didn't bite.. I WARNED him that I would kill him if he came after me.. He was low on blood and had a broken arm and I out-geared him.. Any SMART player would have simply walked away and been thankful that I didn't just double-tap him while he was unconscious.. But this troglodyte thinks this is a COD battlefield where you just run around trying to kill everything you see.. Even when I tried talking to him, he was only willing to talk to me when he was trying to trick me into giving him the upper hand. I enjoyed the encounter none-the-less.. I found it entertaining and fun.. But it's also disappointing that these kinds of narrow-minded people are so common.

Yup... When my character stopped to switch weapons I was like "FUCK! I forgot to lower my weapon.. this is it, I'm dead."... Fortunately, broken arms are the real deal, and he didn't have a magazine, so it was 1 shot at a time.. Then the lag ensued. I'm almost embarrassed by my performance in the following "fight", but I think anyone who's played DayZ for long knows that when that kind of stuff happens the combination of lag, desync and adrenaline makes things extremely frantic and unpredictable.

He was carrying around 2 weapons... I think he may have dropped it to fire the sporter, and then when he went to go pick it up I think I came out and shot at him.. I've watched the footage a good many times now and I THINK That is what happened, but I can't be sure.

I think, optimally, you need to establish it a little differently.. They need to be places that people "want" to go.. Really there's no reason to go to Black Mountain or Devils Castle at the moment.. What about.. Survivor Camp = Zelenogorsk Bandit Camp = Severograd Both have nearby military areas, both have adequate loot, including fresh water sources and nearby hotspots. To improve the idea a bit, maybe have everyone wear a sort of identifying marker/uniform.. Bandits = Wear a specific mask Survivors = No facial wear and maybe a specific kind of hat (Baseball cap or Cowboy hat?) Any one of the opposite (or not wearing the 'uniform') in the 'enemy' camp, is driven out of the area by force. Just throwing stuff out there.. may be flawed.

Sometimes it necessary. Esp when someone is running around you and lagging trying to hack you with a machete. Lol @ your constant forum trolling. Haven't you had your account suspended before?

A couple of notes.. The PSO scope does NOT go on the AK74 or the AKS 74u Both take 5.45mm ammo. Parts are interchangable. (Buttstock, mags, ammo) AKS74u can fit in your backpack/high cap vest (same as the MP5) AKS74u DOES NOT require/have a handgrip. Also Lock pick does NOT work on handcuffs.

Yeah, but I also wasn't sure how geared he was until after I shot him.. if I had known what he was carrying, I probably would have let him be.

I have hardcore clips also.. Go check out my "Etherimps streaming video topic" thread... There's about 3-4 good hardcore ones in there.

He had a blaze, also, but he fired the blaze shots early on, and the rest of his mosin ammo was ruined, so he went into desperation mode. Don't ask me why he didn't try to use the blaze first instead of the sporter though.

I've learned something from recording all of my encounters... and that is that I get a little worked up in situations like this. I'm normally such a nice guy, but when someone fucks with me I talk a LOT of shit. That said... They usually deserve it. ;)

I have interactions all of the time.. If you're not having them it's because you're not allowing it to happen.

The craziest thing about all of this is that it was all on the same character in 1 session.. so in a matter of a few hours, I got like 4 shotgun kills. The fact that the guy I let go was the guy that fired at me later just made it all the sweeter.. I dunno if he intentionally tracked me, or if we just crossed paths again, but I have a feeling he was following me, because of how sketchy he was in telling me he was going to meet up with his friends, and saying how he was going south, etc..

Here's a serious post, and an angle I'm not seeing anyone take on this yet... It's actually easier to play a hero on 3pp servers, because you can hold people up easier, which means it's easier to control the situation (greater situational awareness). It's safer to stand behind a wall and talk to someone and see their body-language and whether or not they've actually lowered their weapon... This means you can actually go out of your way to talk to more players rather than either avoiding them or killing them or having them kill you. Not saying 3pp or 1pp is better.. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. Just saying this particular aspect is easier, and that's a positive in my book.

Sounds like something I used to say in the mod.. "There are no owners in DayZ, only users."

1. Practice PVP in other First Person shooters... The problem with this, is that while you can hone your shooter skills, you may or may not deal with the nerves. When I played Quake II, and CS competitively, I would get jitters when playing Scrimmages against good clans.. and then that went a way a bit, and I got jitters when I played in League/Ladder matches... then that went away a bit, and I would get jitters on LAN.. Why? Because I MENTALLY felt that those "settings" were higher-stakes.. I had more to prove. I would also get jitters in WOW when dueling against someone who I had a beef with.. or I would get jitters in Arena matches against really high ranked players or people who I knew and was competitive with.. so.. 2. Put yourself in stressful situations, and when you notice you're starting to get jitters/shakes, do the following -Breath. In. Out. In. Out. Slow your breath, slow your mind, slow your heart-rate.. -Remind yourself that the jitters/adrenaline is your fight or flight response kicking in, and that you have nothing to fear. Because... I will not fear Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain The person shooting at you is just another human being.. someone sitting behind their computer.. They have a heart, a brain, blood pumping through their veins, and their ability to kill you in a game is completely dependent upon their wits versus yours. Are you going to let that other person beat you in that contest of wits? How dare they challenge you.. How dare they disrespect you. How dare they risk your life.
