Did anyone ever say DayZ was perfect? No. I have my own complaints.... here are a few: -Constant global noises -Shitty dispersion on weapons -Glitchy desync player/zombie movement Yeah, all of those are legit complaints. But "bad game is bad" is not a constructive post. If you have some bugs to report, report the bugs.. If you have a legit complaint about the game and the direction development is taking, go ahead and mount your argument in a way which comes across as CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. "Bad game is bad" just makes you look like a massive twat. If Rust is so fantastic, go over to the Rust forums and tell them how horrible DayZ is and how Rust is so fantastic. I'm sure they'll give a shit... ..oh wait.. they won't. Just like we don't, here.

Wish I had it recorded, but I'm 100% sure it hit him in the back.

Can you shoot through staircases or was this a hack?

Serious question here... Were you on DayZ Experimental LA 0-1 or 2? And did this happen a day or two ago? Because if so... I have a video of me killing a guy through the ATC door. We closed the door, and I saw a persons gun poking through it so I shot 3 or 4 rounds into the door. When we opened the door later there was a dead body there with a Red or Orange mountain backpack. If this was you, I have footage of how it happened, though I wasn't the one who killed you through the staircase. -
Absolutely, I totally agree and I've said as much in previous posts.

I disagree with one thing.. "There is no sweet spot".. Wrong. -If you hit someone on the front of the chin, it forces their chin down, forehead forward, and whip-lashes their neck, all of which jerks the brain around and forces trauma. -If you hit someone on the side of the chin, it can whip their neck sideways, the back of their head coming towards the direction of the punch (chin away from).. Again, same result.. Brain slams against skull. -The "temple" (soft spot to the side of your eye socket) has a lot of nerves in the area, and if struck properly will force someone to lose vision, possible unconsciousness, and possible brain damage. If hit hard enough, it's rumoured that it could even cause death. -Getting hit in the back of the head can not only cause permanent brain damage, unconsciousness/concussion, but also possibly death. Basically, any blunt-force-trauma that causes the head to jerk about abruptly can cause someone to be knocked unconscious. Doesn't matter if you are wearing a ballistic helmet... The ballistic helmet is designed to protect against penetration of bullets, not brace your neck/skull against blunt-force. If you get shot in the head wearing a ballistic helmet, guess what happens? YOU GO UNCONSCIOUS.

Should I post videos?

Are you a competitive boxer or kickboxer? Because you said Then you bring up kickboxing as though that was what you were referring to all along... And now on with this stuff about motorcycle helmets. Have you been hit in the head too many times? To me it looks like you're talking completely out of your ass. None of your videos contradict my original point: Getting hit bare fisted in the head while you are not expecting it will often result in a knock-out. What are you on about with the bike helmets and shit? Nobody is talking about bike helmets. They protect you from being knocked out in the game. For the record, I've been punched and kicked with and without gloves. I've also hit and been hit without gloves, and while getting punched with ANYTHING is not a pleasant experience, my odds of busting your eye or mouth open with bare-fists is much greater than if I were wearing 8 ounce boxing gloves. My bare fists create a smaller surface area by which (roughly) the same amount of kinetic force can pass through and enter your face. The power of my punch + the small surface area of my knuckles = Greater kinetic energy in a smaller area than The power of my punch + 8 ounce gloves where the surface area is spread around the whole back of the glove, as well as cushioning the force through padding. The "button" on someones chin is small. The temple is small. I'm 5'10" and about 175.. If I hit a heavy-weight in the temple or on the button with a MEDIUM powered punch, with my knuckles, with no gloves, and they didn't see it coming and were unable to react to defend it, THEY WILL GO OUT. Sorry, but you're not going to win this "debate".
-
As much as I respect your ability to pace around in circles in front of another "trained" competitor and jab countless times, hug each other when you get tired, and not worry about kicks or being taken down while you fling 8 ounce pillows covering your fists at each other... I don't really see how your fighting experience reflects how punching should function in the game, where your character has 0 gloves on. The only time I brought up boxing was in reference to getting concussed and eventually punch drunk after being hit in the head too many times. I know you don't really see it often in MMA or in the boxing ring, but in street fights, 1 punch knockouts are more the rule than the exception due to dozens of factors which we could discuss in length away from these forums, if you desire.

Watch the WotR video.. there's a charge/tackle manuever. :)
-
I mentioned blocking, and WotR melee system involves blocking. I simply addressed how easy it was to knock someone out who was not ready for the punch. Fist out running is no faster than fist down running. That's been fixed.
-
Why? If you have enough energy to run, you have enough energy to throw a powerful punch given enough adrenaline. Now, if you wanna talk a rework of the melee system, personally I'd like to see something similar to War of the Roses Down = uppercut Up = Power punch (haymaker/overhand right) Right = Right jab Left = Left cross

If you were knocked out that often, you'd be a vegetable.. The brain can only take so much punishment, and being knocked out has cumulative effects on the brain. For every concussion you have, it makes it more and more likely that you'll have another concussion in the future with even less blunt-force-trauma. I've seen matches where someone barely gets grazed by the opponents strike, and his toes curl and he goes out cold because he's been concussed recently or too many times in the past. Many former fighters (boxing, MMA, or martial arts) and football players are punch drunk for the rest of their lives after being knocked out only a handful of times. 11 times seems like... a lot. Personally, I've been knocked out one time, and it was to a sucker punch to my temple. Been in countless street fights and did martial arts for 15+ years (Lido Karate, JKD, and Wing Chun). 1 punch to ANY part of the head is more than enough to knock someone unconscious; it just depends on how it landed and how prepared the person was for it. There's a saying in striking arts (boxing, etc), that "It's the punch you didn't see coming that knocks you out".. This is because if you are in a fist fight with someone and you can see where they are throwing their punches, or if you are even in a martial arts match; you have a few things going for you. 1. You have adrenaline pumping 2. You are "prepared" for every strike, because you have agreed to fight and you see most of them coming 3. You can block/parry with your own arms/body When you see punches coming, and you have adrenaline going, you can reduce the damage of the blow by tensing yourself or reflexively "half-dodging", where you allow your face to absorb the hit, by moving it in the direction of the punch. Now remove those factors.. 1. No adrenaline 2. Unprepared to be hit 3. No blocking/dodging I don't care how big of a tough guy you are, if you aren't ready for me to hit you, and I cold clock you in the side of the temple with straight right hand, and you didn't see that shit coming.. You will drop like a sack of potatoes. (and I will pick up your M4.)

Video or it didn't happen.

Now-days, there's a lot of proper music from "real bands" that was never released on a record label. That's kind of my point.
-
At the time of this recording, I have yet to die on experimental servers. It's important to note that while I usually try to communicate with others, I am on a packed 50 player server, on experimental, alone, looting one of the most dangerous places on the map due to the likelihood of running into geared groups of players - NWAF.
-
I don't think several minutes.. But maybe add a sound that people can hear, the same as when you log in.. But not a reload.. I dunno, maybe a snoring sound or something? like someone is going to sleep?

This was Experimental LA server... They don't have any hardcores, only regulars. :\ I've said it in other threads and I'll say it here: I'll be the first person to rejoice if the entire game becomes 1st person only... I played CS for 7+ years, battlefield, Quake2, UT, etc.. I love first person. Unfortunately, most of the DayZ population plays 3pp, and that's where "most" of the action is at. You notice a lot of times in this video in particular, I take certain positions and do certain things specifically because I have the other person using 3rd person in mind... It's a double edged sword for sure. Thanks buddy! That's really how my heart was beating in that moment. I should have seen that guy, but I didn't even realize where the shot came from at the moment.. Then he did the silly thing and ran up to the same exact tree I was standing in, and I heard his footsteps. :) Thanks Odin! Mad respect. :)

As a fellow youtuber, I recommend you try to find some other music for your videos. Essentially, anything released on a record label is going to get your video taken down unless you get expressed permission to use it from the copyright holder(s). There are, however, bands/groups out there that release all of their stuff online for free. I used Gramatik in my last video: http://prettylightsmusic.com/plm/#artists/gramatik Little gems like this are as close as you're going to get to adding "free" music that isn't absolute crap to your video. Any time you're dealing with a large record label, you're gonna have problems.

1. Dispersion of weapons. 2. Zoom of the scopes. 3. "Global" sounds 4. Players glitching through walls.. (the unintentional kind, where people see you or you see people slipping through walls.) 5. Zombies running through stuff.. (I know this is already being addressed) ^-- My top 5. You?

5 things that really need to be addressed.

Oh, there are a few more bugs I've noticed recently, that should be addressed soon.. 1. Tuna and Sardines are invisible right now.. you can pick them up and open them, but the models are not displaying properly in the world. 2. If you "eat" an item that is not in your inventory, it will create a "ghost" that you cannot select/move/remove in your inventory. The only way to fix it is to log out and back in and then drop the 0% food item. :\ -
I did something a little different in this video... 1st clip: 750 meter single shot headshot, giving a bandits gear to a fresh spawn. 2nd clip: I get revenge on a geared player who killed me as a fresh spawn.. with a shotgun! My first confirmed kill with a shotty. Music montage starts... 3rd clip: Knock out a geared player, and steal his M4, killing his friend with it. 4th clip: Attempt to punch a mosin wielding motorcyclist to death... and fail. 5th clip: Quickscope with mosin, and point blanke mosin fight... I lose! 6th/7th/8th clips: Madness in Berezino... 9th clip: Sporter 22 kill at NEAF.. Hope you enjoy! Like, comment, and subscribe to support me, guys. I really enjoy making these videos. Also, please give constructive criticism on how I could make my videos better, or give me ideas on what you would like to see!
-
Yeah, absolutely about the spawning. They really need to adjust the spawns so they're more spread out across the map... I don't see why there are NO spawns on the west/south side of the map anymore. I understand that they want us to see Svet and the new stuff they have up there, but it creates really stupid circumstances like what was displayed in this video when you have everyone spawn within a 1000 meter radius.

Don't get too excited... I tried killing someone with this tonight and it cost me my life. 1st shot, direct hit in the back.. Player was injured but not dead. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th shots all missed, even though both the target and myself were standing still and firing at each other from approximately 30 meters.. And yes, my crosshair was on him. On a side note, he missed 10 shots from his SKS. That said, the reload time is TERRIBLE in the middle of a gun fight, and the damage (while seemingly good), is NOT a 1 shot kill to the chest 100% of the time, and the accuracy is questionable.

I'm not worried, per say.. But the global sound glitch has been around since release day, and you'd think it would be up there on their priority list. Weapon dispersion shouldn't be difficult to fix.. Adjust some values to represent real-life weapon mechanics, and viola... end of complaints. Same with the scopes. zombies/players sketching out through walls, I would imagine is the most difficult to fix, and even though it's annoying it bothers me the least because I understand that it requires a lot of work on the devs part. The other stuff bothers me more because it seems like it should be relatively easy to take care of. -
Exactly... I HAVE been nice to people on airfields before, but it's usually not wise.. A lot of people who visit airfields do so with several friends and most of them are looking for gear, and/or are already geared.. It's a high-tension area where being friendly will often get you shot.
