This is just one example... Watch his videos and ask some questions about things.. Like how he has 7 murders, and is still a survivor. Like how he crashes a helicopter (by manually shutting off the engine himself), fades to black, then appears in a different server wearing a different skin with a different debug screen and a different murder count, is still a survivor, and there's a crashed helicopter there.... which we're supposed to believe is the same Heli. So, if he crashed a heli on one server, then switched servers... How did he get a Heli-crash on the coast as shown in his video? Do you expect me to believe he went and repaired a helicopter just to crash it in the exact same spot? Odds are, he spawned it in. There's a lot of fishy stuff in his videos if you just watch them with an open mind. Here's some more stuff: http://imgur.com/a/lzyu5 http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/13rruz/frankieonpc_a_hacker_please_read_before_you/

1. Show me proof of this. (Hunting hackers).. Other than conjecture from his videos. What Frankie says doesn't count as evidence/proof. 2. How does one hunting hackers prove he's not a hacker? 3. There's substantial evidence/proof that he HAS hacked, if he doesn't anymore. 4. DayZ Mod moderator tools were essentially hacks.. If Frankie used these with permission of the admin to set up a scene I would not mind, but there's clear evidence of him using godmode, hacking his humanity, spawning in vehicles, and other things which clearly affect others who are not in on his video making.

Alpha striking Heli's is easy.. 3-5 survivors with MK Mods, wait until the chopper flies over and is in range, aim slightly ahead of it, and 1 person call out on teamspeak "fire", and all players begin firing their MK Mod's... Heli's melt. Still not the point. There should be no heli's in SA. Also ,if you think AS50's are going to be in SA, you're going to be sadly mistaken. They're in the PBO's because a lot of the PBO's were ported over from ARMAIII.

No. I don't have a problem with the concept of helicopters. I think they fit perfectly into Battlefield 3/4.. I think they're just find in ARMA.. I have a lot of fun with Helicopters in the DayZ Mod. I also think they SHOULD NOT be in DayZ Standalone for the same reason that they are absolutely overpowered in DayZ Mod. Rarity or difficulty will not change the impact helicopters have on the game. You're delusional/ignorant if you think otherwise. Helicopters = Birds eye view of the entire map. That's the only factor which matters. Let's compare them to nukes.. Nukes are difficult to make. They require a lot of science/industry to create functional nuclear missiles. But what are the consequences? ANYONE who has a nuke has the ability to wipe a city off the face of the Earth, and the ability to make an entire section of the Earth incapable of sustaining life for hundreds of years. By my logic, nobody should have nukes, just like nobody in DayZ should have helicopters.. Doesn't matter how difficult or rare they are. They shouldn't exist because the power they give any group that has them is too great.

I am not trying to deem them "inappropriate/appropriate".. You can make Helicopters as realistic and/or rare as you want, and the end result is the same. Helicopters in game vs helicopters not in game is the only factor which matters.. IF you have helicopters in the game, you reduce travel time IMMENSELY and allow players to see a birds-eye view of the entire map, which allows tents/camps/vehicles to get stomped out much more rapidly than they can be replaced/maintained. Adding more difficulty to getting those helicopters, or maintaining them, or flying them, WILL NOT change that. Make helicopters as difficult to fly as real heli's... People will still learn to fly them and use them. Put only 1 helicopter on a server... SOMEONE will still have access to it. Make it so Heli's only have 1-2 passengers.. Those 1-2 passengers will STILL have access to the entire map. Make it so fuel is hard to come by... Heli owners will just lock down the locations where fuel exist. Make it so it takes 2 hours to refuel them.. Doesn't matter, 2 hours of refueling + 1 hour in the sky = well worth it for the amount of control you have over other peoples bases/tents/stashes/vehicles. As long as heli's are in the game, in WHATEVER form you put them in, it still affords the users of the heli's the same benefits... in fact, by making them more and more difficult you're actually doing yourself a disservice.. You're making heli's exclusionary rather than inclusive.. If it takes 10 people to refuel/repair/maintain a heli, then only teams/clans/groups with 10 players or more will have access to them. That really what you want?

The people who are actually experienced with this game (the mod) are not worried about people "joy-riding", they're worried about people dominating the map by destroying/stealing all other vehicles/tents. It doesn't matter how RARE something is.. It still offers the same benefit and that benefit is NOT GOOD FOR THE GAME. In fact, it could be argued that the more rare/difficult to maintain they are, the better for those who actually get them. 2 Heli's on the map? Takes less time to get and gain complete control. 8 Heli's on the map? Much harder, but still possible. 40 Heli's on the map? Very difficult to get and control. But it doesn't even matter how many there are or how difficult they are to control or fly or maintain and it doesn't matter how much armor or weapons or storage they have.. Having ANY heli on the map AT ALL, gives players the opportunity to fly over the entirety of the map and destroy/control everything, and it allows them to pick up and drop off players across the map in a matter of minutes rather than hours.
-
K.. Picture this.. all heli's stashed, all offroads under control.. your only options for finding the camps are on foot or in a car that does 4kph offroad. The owner(s) of the heli(s) fly around during low-pop time periods and smash camps while only a handful of people are online... so no matter what you did while there were 40+ people online, when you log in the next day all of your shit is destroyed. Aside from that, people do not usually hide their camps/vehicles in high pvp areas or high pop areas, which means heli's do not need to fly over/near those areas in order to find your camps/vehicles and destroy them, so your argument is more or less invalid.

I agree with the OP.. No helis. They do exactly what he said: Allow 1 group of players to dominate the map. I know because my group has been that group on several occasions. We get a heli and within 24 hours every tent, vehicle, and chopper is either in our possession or destroyed.. And what happens when a "fresh" group of players spends hours and hours to collect loot, repair vehicles, and stash stuff in tents, just to have it all destroyed within a few hours? They quit playing on that server. And, as he said.. 1 heli hovering off in the distance over NWAF... Someone from their group dies, they fly to the coast, pick them up, and drop them back into action fully geared (or allow them to loot their body) within 5 minutes. Heli's are not good for the game.

Not sure if you're serious or if you're trying to say it IS an exploit.. The only EXPLOIT is that it shouldn't be necessary. The Devs should give the ACOG the proper magnification, and lock the FOV to the scopes.
-
Yes, you can.. Turn your FOV down.

Good info.. The Peccaries are what we call "Javelinas" here in the SW United States.. they're different from Eurasian Wild Boars. -

The game aims to be authentic... If it were authentic there would be no bald, domestic pigs added.. They would be wild boars/feral pigs. This isn't "reading too much into it", it's just giving a suggestion backed with facts/science. How would you feel if the Devs included a weapon called "M4A1" and it had the weapon model of an AK47? Not very authentic, right? Know how many people would throw a shit fit? A lot. -

The distinction I am making is between "TWITCH SHOOTERS" and "TACTICAL FPS"... DayZ is a tactical FPS... There's a difference between "twitch gameplay elements" and "twitch shooters".. Usually when people refer to "twitch shooters" they are referring to arena FPS's like Quake, UT, etc.

White people and Black people easily hybridize... But they're the same species, even though they have slight genetic differences. We're all human the same as Feral pigs and wild boars are all "pig". -
Add me on steam: "etherimp"

Nope. You're wrong.. There's "some" degree of twitch in CS and DayZ, but read the article you posted. Twitch is used to describe the movement of the mouse.
-
Actually, you're kind of wrong. There are two different kinds of reflexes that come into play when playing an FPS 1. Target acquisition -> Putting the crosshair on your target. 2. Accuracy -> Hitting the intended target. Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament required you to "twitch" your crosshair around rapidly in order to acquire fast moving targets, and then accurately shoot them the moment your crosshair landed on them. THAT is a "Twitch shooter". Tactical shooters on a whole do not require the "target acquisition" aspect to nearly the degree that true twitch shooters do.. For example, in Counter-Strike, you basically line your crosshair up at approximately head level, and then either come around a corner firing at your target, or sit and wait until the target crosses in front of your crosshair, then reflexively fire. Twitch shooters require frequent and often rapid movement of the mouse. Tactical shooters only require that you can press "fire" at the appropriate time, and control your recoil/sway/etc.
