Removing spawns is making this game bad

There you go again not answering questions and just avoiding the issue. This is the "discussion forums". Maybe you should look up the definition of discussion. -
Removing spawns is making this game bad
Etherimp replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
You didn't answer my question. Nobody is arguing the reality that you spawn where the devs decide you spawn and deal with it. I disagree however that where you spawn is irrelevant. The game being "tuned to draw players inland" has nothing to do with spawn points and everything to do with where "exclusive" loot is.. IE - Nightvision being only at heli crashes, certain guns only being at barracks, etc. So, you think everyone should just keep spawning around Berezino or not? -

So on a 225 sq km map you think we should all just spawn in and around Berezino like it is now, is that what you're saying? *I* personally do not believe spawns should be random.. But I do think they should be spread out along the coast from Kamenka -> Komorova -> Balota -> Factory -> Cherno -> Pik Kozlovo -> Elektro -> Kamyshovo -> Three Valleys -> Solnichney -> Niznoye -> Berezino -> Rify -> Svet All told, the game could have 15-20 different spawns spread across the coastline and it would solve the Berezino deathmatch as it is now.. While right now there's 100% chance Berezino is going to be occupied, with 20 spawns spread along the coast, any given near-by town is about 50-75% likely to be occupied. Edit: 1k posts. Wee.. I'm a nerd. -

That's not at all what he said. Please come back when you have a fundamental grasp of reading comprehension and the language you're reading. You either completely twisted his words (malicious), or you lack said reading comprehension. Which is it.. Are you attempting to intentionally fuel an argument, or are you just dense? -
WHY are the big buildings not big?
Etherimp replied to Shrub Rocketeer ™'s topic in General Discussion
The doorways are still too small.. Backpacks aren't an excuse. I have problems getting in and out of rooms (in the school) as a fresh spawn. -

The school especially is difficult to even move in.. the hallways and doorways are so tiny it's like moving around in a building made for midgets, where you often get stuck in a door and can't escape without some difficulty. -

I actually agree with this.. School/Office building, doesn't matter.. The office building/school is small. The hospital especially, is small.. Even when considering the hallways/rooms which are blocked off, I would really like to see ALL of the rooms in all of the buildings be enterable.. There should be no "unenterable" buildings. Even if it took an axe or other method of entry to open the door/window, there should be a way to enter. 1. It's more realistic 2. It's more immersive. 3. It adds more tactical options. (Hiding spots, escape routes, ambushes, etc) 4. There's no reason not to do it, other than laziness. (Not saying the Devs are lazy.. they are plenty busy.. Just that in the future it would be a nice addition and it wouldn't cost them anything but time, and it would add a lot to the game.) ) Before you foo-foo this post, go back and play DayZ mod where only a handful of buildings can be entered.. Now go to a town like.. Oh I dunno... MSTA or Staroye.. See how boring/lame it is, then go to the same town in DayZ SA and notice how much more it feels like an actual town that you can explore/loot. -

Mic is less than 1 foot from my face, and it's a Yeti Blue $130 microphone. You are the ONLY PERSON who has had ANY problem hearing me speak. I can hear my voice fine even when playing it back on my Android phone. Maybe you need a hearing aid, or to turn up your volume, like I suggested. -

Update: I have Chapter 2 planned out, it will be released the week of, or the week after the new Standalone patch is released to stable. -
If H1Z1 will have squads and clans at early access why ...

DayZ mod doesn't have priest outfits.. Epoch and all other mods of the mod are abominations and do not accurately represent DayZ any more than DayZ accurately represents ARMA. -

You're so right... ...when will your AAA title go on sale? I'll be your first fanboi.
-
DayZ epoch is not dayz. I love dayz vanilla servers. Maybe dayz just isn't right for you. Doesn't mean its not relevant for others.
-
That was a script that was added to the Mod. It wasn't in the "official DayZ vanilla" game.

Why is it when anyone defends the game it automatically makes them fanbois? Maybe some of us are just mature adults with reasonable expectations? Maybe some of us just understand that if this game isn't entertaining for you, you should skip the forums and go straight to another game? Maybe some of us realize that when people come posting unreasonable and non-constructive posts on the forums, it's because they're looking for attention rather than actual solutions? Maybe some of us realize that the majority of the modern gamers are entitled little bitches who complain about everything? When there are reasonable complaints to be leveled at the game, I will be the first to go to the Bug Tracker and post a problem, or even discuss possible solutions on the forums or Reddit or AMA's.. But I don't spam the forums making it sound like an echo-chamber of petulant demands and whining. To be completely honest, I haven't played much DayZ SA since the last patch, because there are a lot of problems and not a lot for me to do at the moment... but I've also put ~500 hours of non-stop game play in since release, and as soon as the next patch comes out I will be excited to play again. Until then, I don't really feel like dealing with the rubber-banding on experimental, so I am playing Insurgency and FTL and focusing on my youtube and doing productive shit with my life... like cooking and working out and reading. See how that works? There's a problem, so I don't play the game, I find other things to do, rather than coming to the forums throwing temper tantrums. People who whine on forums are bored, looking for attention, looking for an argument, or all 3.

Thank you sirs! -
Know what I find sad? You posting on the forums for a game you don't even fucking play. Go make some friends. Furthermore, what you may not understand is that DayZ vets are glad kids like you are too ADHD to play this game. We enjoy the peace and quiet.
-
Maybe you should re-read my post. I didn't say anything about how you SHOULD play the game. I said there are OTHER ways to play the game and interacting with players takes more skill than putting your crosshair over them and pressing mouse1.
-
No.. It's not the only way to play. It's just the only way you're able to play because you're bad. Sorry, but truth needs to be said. It takes skill to hold someone up. It takes skill to talk to someone and still control the situation and have no fear of getting shot. When you get tired of playing this game like it's deathmatch, you'll either go back to another FPS, or you'll get good enough where you can have player interactions without shooting people. Furthermore, in my 500+ hours of playing DayZ Standalone and >1000 hours of playing DayZ mod, I've only ever met 1-2 bandits that were actually good players.. as in, they could go better than 50/50 vs me.
-
I personally wouldn't, but I don't really need to.. I have a friend who doesn't play the game. He played maybe 3 hours, then hasn't touched it in several months. So theoretically I could use his account, and I am sure I am not an isolated example of that scenario. My point was that no matter what system people think they're going to come up with to prevent "EASY MODE RUNNING BACK AND GETTING FREE LOOTZ", someone out there will create a work around. Furthermore, as others in this thread have said, it's not even an issue. You actually have to STOCK tents.. Stocking tents requires looting. Looting can be dangerous. Furthermore, after you die, you actually have to run back to your tent, which as someone else mentioned isn't going to be 5 minutes from the coast.. It's going to be OUT OF THE WAY.. As in, you'd probably risk starving to death if you had to run to it directly from spawn. Furthermore, you have to run back under the pressure of other players potentially seeing you, following you, or just straight out killing you. Also, your tent can be robbed/smashed at any time.. Also, you don't have a map/compass or any other method of navigation (aside from DayZDB). Point being.. Stop your crying, people.

In before people start purchasing "storage accounts" 2 accounts 1 for action 1 for storage Action account drops loot where storage account stays, storage account logs in, moves loot into tents, logs out. Action account goes and dies, runs to where storage account stays, storage account logs in, removes gear from tents, drops on ground, action account logs back in and is fully geared. Stop trying to fix what's not broken. People will always find a way to game the system anyway.

Where are you going to find cocaine in the apocalypse? I don't think drug runners from Columbia will still be servicing Chernarus..Cigarettes and alcohol could be found in residentials though. Still.. why? I'm a smoker, and I don't see what purpose this would serve in game.
