You make a valid point, there are a lot of players who can play "any" game for a LONG time, and they never get good at it.. Let me make this perfectly clear: I'm not one of those players. You bring up WoW... Season 3 Gladiator, 2442 rating on Kil'Jeaden (BG8). Top .05% in the world. Counter-Strike...Won lan tournaments, competed among the top .05% of players in the world and made money playing. Age of Empires 3... ~2150 rating, about the top 1% in the world playing the most underpowered Civ available. DayZ - Killing server hopping scrubs like you on the daily.. I have video proof of it. Do you? No.. Because nobody wants to watch videos of someone logging into a server, looting ,and logging back out. So... I've countered your argument that anti-server-hopping-carebears are bad at PvP. Now on to proving that you're bad at it: Know how I know you suck at the game? Because you jump from server to server to get loot because you don't have the "time" to run from A to B to get the same loot on the same server.. You feel you need all the best camo gear, automatic weapons, and ballistics helmets.. I can kill you just as easily with a Blase95 as I can with an AKM. People who are good at anything get good by dedicating time to it and every time they make a mistake and die, they take that loss or failure and they fix the holes in their game and they improve. People like you are out for instant gratification. You want your gear fast and easy and you want to have an advantage over people who have LESS gear so you run back to high-population zones like Berezino or NEAF and you sit in a building and camp it with your friends and kill everyone you see like this is a deathmatch. This includes fresh spawns.. What you do is not a CHALLENGE.. You mitigate risk by logging into low-pop servers to get geared up in a game where one of the biggest challenges is supposed to be going to high-risk areas for high-reward which requires high-population in those areas. You avoid all of that because you're a scared little bitch, afraid of losing your precious purple rare-drop. Let's get something straight - This isn't WoW and it isn't a deathmatch PVP game.. Your loot means nothing and the amount of fresh-spawns you can kill while you're camping inside a building doesn't impress anyone nor does it make you good at the game. And remember, the only reason we're even talking about PLAYER SKILL here is because YOU brought it up. There are 101 reasons why Server hopping is toxic to this game, and if you can't see them it's because you're a selfish ADD douche-nozzle that takes the easy way out. KOS doesn't bother me.. Gives me someone to shoot at. You wanna kill fresh spawns? Go for it.. I'm not telling you you can't shoot whoever you wanna shoot at.. I think most of the people in this community agree that KOS, while unfortunate in some circumstances; is just a part of the game, Server hopping is reserved for Grade A baddies who are missing the entire point of the game. As I said in my other post: Go play something to suits your style.. Go play something that gives you instant gratification. I'm not against games like COD, Battlefield, Counter-strike, etc.. But if you need that instant gratification then DayZ isn't for you and if you play it like you do those games, you're a bad DayZ player. Oh, and I laugh at your 1v1 request. You aren't even worth my time. You'd just find some way to a. make excuses. b. wiggle your way out of it. c. give yourself an unfair advantage. My gaming experience speaks for itself, and make no mistake, I'm better than you at everything I do.

Let's look at the facts: You have 25 posts and talk shit about carebears and how bad they are at PVP... I have >1000 posts, >500 hours in SA, over 1 year playing the Mod, and a youtube channel showing me PVP. Server hopping is for baddies. The fact that you defend server hopping means you're a baddie. Go back to Call of Duty if you want instant gratification.

Server hopping is not only bad for the game, bad for PVP, bad for KOS, and bad for the community... But it's also just a sign of BAD play and it's BAD for your health. If you log in at NWAF (or where-ever), you have NO idea who is also there.. I can't tell you how many times I've killed server hoppers who just logged in and started running directly to a high risk area without any concern for their safety JUST because there were only 2-3 other people on the server. They then die, and ALL that time and effort collecting all that precious gear is gone in an instant.. Which of course could happen to anyone who's running a loot route, but if I am running a loot route from Balota to NWAF, *I* know what's already been hit and what hasn't and that usually gives me an idea of whether or not I might run into someone.. I also see who's been on the server before me and who logged in after me so I know what I have to watch out for. The SAFEST way to loot is to loot on the same server from start to restart.

Compass, knife, watch, clothing, (hunting clothing, etc), crossbows, bows, the odd hunting backpack, hunting/civilian rifles and ammo, food.. basically, survival supplies.. As that's what hunters would be traveling with.

If you're shooting fresh spawns 1. You're a coward 2. You're bad at the game 3. You'll get wrecked by someone who actually has a gun. Fresh-spawns never run up and try to knock me out, because I don't run around in fresh-spawn zones with ballistics helmets and full camo gear like the majority of the retards in this community. If you want to be recognized for your mad l33t PVP skills, I suggest you go play a competitive shooter or JOIN THE MILITARY.. Most of you love gun porn and have repressed anger issues and/or a mild case of psychosis, so you'd fit right in with the jarheads. sorry, my original post was a little dickish.. My apologies.. It just seemed like you guys were a little too full of yourselves for being geared and occupying an area that is full of fresh spawns. Try taking your group to Balota or NWAF.

Your squad is a joke. You guys would get wrecked by 2 organized players. You aren't even bandits. BADnits maybe.

You could craft the small bag, but once you added sticks they would disappear. It works now.

1. Shotgun still firing only 1 pellet 2. Legs still breaking on 2nd level of buildings. (sometimes just clothing ruined, sometimes insta-death) 3. Cannot retrieve arrows from bodies. 4. You're able to stack certain clothing items inside each other along with items, as to expand your inventory "infinitely".. Same with ammo boxes. -Leather backpacks ARE working now.. I tested tonight.

Just some results from testing... I have heard from friends things like, "Wow, I didn't even hear that shot.", and, "I heard the bullet hit the wall but didn't hear the gunshot!" So a buddy and I tested a few things this morning. This was done at 500 meters, firing from the Northern Hill of Elektro, to the Powerplant Fire Station. My friend stood inside of the firestation, and I fired 5 shots at the fire station tower. 1st shot, friend was standing facing North (my direction). He heard the bullet hit the fire station, then heard the shot. 2nd shot, he was facing East. He heard the bullet hit the fire station, but heard no shot. 3rd shot, he was facing South. He heard the bullet hit the fire station, but heard no shot. 4th shot, he was facing West. He heard the bullet hit the fire station, but heard no shot. 5th shot, he was facing North again. He heard the bullet hit the fire station, then heard the shot. Conclusion: When firing a Mosin from 500 meters, the person being shot at will only hear the shot if the following are true: 1. They are facing the direction the shot was coming from. 2. The first shot does not kill them, as apparently the bullet registers as hitting before the sound of the Mosin firing is heard. (Needs more testing) More testing should be done on ranges, weapon/round types, and also the death before hearing the shot.

Berezino is only a battlefield because geared players go there to kill fresh-spawns... Derp.

There are always hackers at NEAF... ...And generally Berezino and the surrounding areas have some action. If you're more hardcore, try NWAF.. I get in a lot of fire-fights there, and the variety of "kinds" of players is a little more mixed. NWAF attracts lone wolves and groups alike, and most people are moderately to well geared.

Early in it seemed like there was a patch every week, maybe two.. More recently it's been a "big" patch every month or so, with sometimes smaller patches (or hotfixes) inbetween. I've been playing since release and it seems like the patches are getting better and better as they're starting to address some of the major issues and add in more content. There's been only 1 patch that I thought was "horrible" and I didn't play it very much. The rest have all had their issues but not bothered me so much as that one in particular, and I think much of the community felt the same way. That's since been resolved and looking forward should be a lot more good content in the near future.

Because I know where they were firing from (The airfield, either the ATC or the western jail), and I know where I was (Olsha hill in the small industrial building.)

What server were you on? I ran into hackers at NEAF yesterday also. I was shot over 800meters away through a wall, instakilled.. and my friend standing next to me was as well.. we were both inside of a building.

True.. but then there were respawns too. :) I'm just saying, GPS could be difficult I agree, but it wasn't as difficult as NVG's or Rangefinders. :)

Is Wednesdays patch going to address people firing ~1000 meters with infinite ammo through walls with no recoil? I've witnessed this 2 different times at NEAF on the same server in 1 day.
