You are running off the cliff. You have been playing a game that has for the most part broken zombies, now its fixed for the post poart maybe you should go back to COD?

I think the mod developers need to be careful of knee jerk reactions to this new update. There are a lot of people who play dayz thinking that they can just get away with whatever they want. If you want that kind of game go back to Call of Duty. This game started on the realism/survialistic aspect and the fact that there are lots of players leaving in droves proves that there are a lot of people that really shouldn't even be playing this game. The ones that complain that 1.7.7 is to hard and just want to roll around shooting people at will need to think again. The patch is a good start, i think it needs some tweaking but its going to force players that dont care about survival to leave. The ones that remain are the real strength of this game who were around in the beginning and who will remain here so keep it up devs. And thanks for making moves like this. I really respect developers who are will to piss people off like this it takes a lot of guts..

I just purchased a Dayz server from HFBservers.com. Im fairly new to Dayz admin responsibilities but im pretty good with back end stuff. Im running a private hive with stock Chenarus and the server comes with BEC and Dayz Anti-Hax Support. which I have installed and got working. I was what was the best way to administrate the server to keep hackers out and if I should be running any other kind of anti-hax software? any help would be appreciated.

Logged in at 7:00pm did some running around in the stary military tents for about 10 or 15mins and all of a sudden I lost control of my character and someone took control of my guy and started walking him around. I disconnected right away so I didnt wait around to see what happened. This happened 2012/7/26

Thats interesting. We were NorthWest of Prud pond around that same time and got insta killed. I Spotted someone in a ghille suite looking at our group, not sure if it was the hacker or one of your guys. I also reported the same hacking incident.

Was playing on the server for about 20 mins when my group, Kittie TheDude and trinsic were insta killed on the server. I spotted a guy with a gillie suit about 300meters S from my location which was about 100 meters SW of Prud Pond. Screenshot attached, I forgot to save a screen shot of us three getting killed but I just wanted to warn the admins. This happened around 1:30am pst.

Logged into US DC 1468 and was reconing a location for about 10mins with both my team mate and I weapons changed. to m4a1 SDs. I looked into my inventory and it had been replaced by a set of items. We disconnected immediately and reconnected to another server and the stuff was still their sadly :( Screenshot attached.

Not sure if this is cheating, but on US DC 1458 as I approached the air field moving close to the Barracks on both the North East and South and South west I saw what looked like walls of geometry that was preventing me from seeing past a certain point. They looked like artifact glitches that I have seen before that were not noticeable. But once I got in close to these locations I saw the source of the artifact gliches. It looks like both locations had mounds of geometry triangles that were the source of the visual glitches and they were specifically preventing me from seeing on the other side of both those locations until I got close enough to the buildings. I thought it was kind of strange that they happened to be at the most important places on the map. Another interesting thing is that if you stand near these mounds that produce these visual artifacts they don't effect you looking out from a defensive position, they only effect people comming in to these target areas. I also saw these mounds at the military tents at stary sobar. Not sure if the admin knows about it but Ill try finding his contact info but since they have been around for couple of days now im wondering if the server admins have something to do with it.

was playing for 20mins or so when everyone including me was outright killed on the server by some kind of command. I guess this game is unplayable right now. will come back when this is fixed.

So that geometrey issues is specific to that server, and its not the same glich you guys are talking about its something different. Looks more like an exploit to me.

I tried a Different server, no problems, its specific to that server.

The game is already fun, you just are not used to playing a game that makes you work for it. Get over it and stop trying to compare this game to other games, its not in any way shape or form the same game as most multiplayer games out there. its a realism game and it will always be that way god willing. I myself have countless times gotten pissed off because i died and had to walk all the way back to where I was before, but then I find a hell-copter crash and it makes all worth it. The point of this game is that all that stuff that you find mundane actual drives the fun. you never know whats going to happen because the developers haven't dumbed it down. I dont suggest we dumb something simple because its convenientfor you. man up and meet the game where its at, dont make the game confirm to your expectations. its dayz for christ sake.

Sounds more like they registered the trademark so they can put legal pressure on the dayz mod to destabilize the development because it has become so popular. I'm started to feel like alot of people from all across the spectrum are putting more time into this game then most games out there simple because its a much better game in terms of game play. Dayz has already changed the way I think about other games that i used to play. I dont have the same enthusiasm to play other games because they dont have the level of realism that dayz has. Im wondering if others feel the same way but that is another thread.

I wouldnt go that far, enfield attracts way to many zombies. The slient wincester 1866 is your friend. actually' date=' the trick to playing dayz with good gear is to not get good gear. m1911 and a enfield is all u really need along with normal binoculars. for military stuff, i guess u can go get a AK from somewhere. u dont need all of that top of the line stuff. Everyone that is saying its a free for all havent been playing the same game I have. You have to be smart about playhing this game. dont stay in cherno, electro to long thats where all the bandit activity happens. watch players from affar to determin trust and try to run with a group, you will die less just like in real life. so the cod players need to get over the fact that this is a thinking mans game not a twitch fest.

Dear Alex. You were playing on UK5. You were running for your life from zombies when we saw you coming up behind us as we ourselves were being chanced by zombies. We were going to try and outrun them but when then we saw you. I spotted you and called out to Kittie (My fiancee) that there was a guy behind us so we both turned and started taking out the zombies. I was under the impression that my fiance understood that "Guy" Means survivor. A zombie broke one of your legs and you went down just as we finished clearing the zombies off of you. I went over to apply some morphine when my fiancee shot you in the head. I stood there a moment wondering what the fuck just happened and I turned to her and said. "why did you just kill this person who was just trying to get assistance" To which she replied I didn't know there was a survivor behind us. I said didnt you hear that I said there was a guy behind us? she said she got confused and didn't understand that you were a survivor and though you were a crawling zombie. Alex we are both sorry you were killed and from now on we are going to do better force recognition. May you rest in peace. P.S If you see us in game please let us know we owe you a weapon for that stupidity on our part. Were you playing on a Dallas server a couple days ago? My clan and I ran into a couple near the Berizino hospital. I'm fairly certain the girl's name was kittie No I dont think so. We dont play on Dallas servers. You found us out, you have now ruined our plans to rule the dayz world. May you burn for your deeds.

Well we dont fire on people unless fired upon, or in hot zones if someone is pointing a gun at us. We like helping people especially new players. Look it doesn't have to be that way. Sure you get killed once in awhile you loose your stuff, but you know what ever time we lost my stuff and got killed it allowed to play differently and find new and better stuff. Right after that happened we found and ATV and we had been looking for a vehicle for weeks on the server.
