Your shadow is not necessarily north. Also, empty hills is not debug forest, it's debug hills. You need to run southeast from them.

Bad FPS and exponential zombie spawns are inexcusable. Get some sleep before testing your updates, rocket. You're burning yourself out.

Most macs have very low hardware specs (I have an iMac and a MacBook pro, and they are way, way, WAY underpowered for Arma2) So see if the crappy Mac graphics hardware is actually enough to run this game at a resolution that doesn't cause eye cancer, mkay? :) -

I think the higher deer stand zombo rate is probably intended - it was way too easy to get military grade loot from deer stands. -

Six Updater could just as well be renamed Sux Updater. I don't like it, it's not very elegantly developed at all, IMHO. Mostly the clunky GUI is annoying, though. And I can't launch my apps through steam with it, for whatever reason. Looking forward to trying 1.7.1 later today. :heart:

What's the maximum Gamma permitted now? (I uninstalled 825 because of the Script 16 kick bug, has that been addressed?) I usually play at brightness 0.9 gamma 1.0 so it won't affect me much I guess. Nights are too dark to play, however, and rocket needs to acknowledge this sooner or later.

Sincerely, from everyone who ever spent a few hours to find a nice location for a tent inside the map: We fucking hate you offmappers. They're just one notch down from server hoppers, which is one notch down from actual hack users. -

I just logged in after 2 days and this is what the mansion near castle Zub looks like: It definitely didn't look like this when I went into it. This is with version 701 (Six Updater gave me an update, even though I had just put 825 on, very weird). Is this a DayZ update? A bug? A hack? What happened! (the building is otherwise fine, so it just looks as if a ruin was spawned inside it.

Yeah I know they are, but the building is intact - there's a destroyed building inside of it (by the looks of it, it may be the destroyed model corresponding to the mansion).

Yeah, I know. But from a programmer's perspective, the steam overlay is no different from other overlays. In fact, I'd make my process look like the steam process at the windows/DirectX API level if I were a cheat developer. The whole anticheat discussion is an arms race that legit players always lose. (but the permabans are a good thing though because they starve the community of all themkids who just copy publically available hacks instead of developing their own) I mentooned steam overlay because technically, it's the same kind of directx hook as any other would be. :) -
Battleeye kick is not a battleeye global ban. Completely different story.

I love this. I hope there are no false positive bans, but I'm sure they were extra cautious not to let that happen. :)

Totally agree, but this is for a $25 game, not someone's life. But I still hope there are no false positives. The burden of proof is with BattleEye, and I'm sure they can provide it if asked nicely. So this forum is not the right place to ask.
