Want to play Arma, but whenever I start arma, it switches to DayZ
Donair posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Don't know why, but I wanted to play some Arma, but whenever I start it up, it just starts up the DayZ menu. I remember having this problem before and got around it somehow, but right now can't seem to figure out how I did it. Any suggestions? Thanks -
I've never experienced this problem before, and it's a simple one. My knockout timer literally does not go down, but stays full. While this is going on I cannot do anything, can't type for someone to kill me or give me an epi pen. Doesn't matter what server I go to, just keeps me knocked out with the timer not going down. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks, submitted. Yea I left it on for 20 minutes and it moved, slightly. As in less than 1 mm. Dead serious. Will probably die of thirst before it even ends. Why the hell do they have such long knockout timers even in place? Or is this a glitch? Edit. Just died of thirst

Alright I'll keep this short. Today I was playing on a server today and there was this woman admin there and at first there was no problems. First sign of trouble came from this dude who said Turkey was the best middle eastern country. She then went on about how Turks are terrorists and actually banned him. I thought maybe he had done something and didn't think much about it. Then I logged back on tonight and was looking around NWAF. I remembered how this admin was looking for a rotor and I actually found one in the hangers. So I said, wow rotor in side chat. She said something on her mic, but I was on the phone and didn't have my sound turned on so I was like "I don't have sound at the moment". Then out of nowhere she swears at me and I get kicked + a ban message and it goes exactly like this "You have been kicked off the game. (Battleye: Admin(it had to be canada)) implying she banned me because I was Canadian??? Seriously I don't really care if someone is racist or whatever, I'm a pretty laid back guy. But this admin is the worst I've ever seen. Just banning people at her own will. I don't even know why I was banned, I did absolutely nothing wrong.

1.8.0.3... Massive loot is back?
Donair replied to beavis_5000's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Doesn't seem to be back at all, seems like it's back to the pre 1.8 loot -
Seems to me when 1.8 came out they were trying to encourage players to KOS less and work together by adding in more loot and increasing the difficulty of zombies. However I'm sort of confused by the last two changes. The first change almost completely wiped out loot, now it seems like they were back to normal levels before 1.8. Anyone else feel me? Or am I insane?

I'll trade an m4a1 cco sd with 3 clips for 2 tents

Always paranoid about snipers etc, especially on high population servers. For example if going into elektro, from the east or west, how do you enter and go through town? I'm fine when inside town, and I know how to move about, but do you just avoid open fields? For example the diagonal path from the west firehall to the north firehall, would you consider it suicide to run through the open field from one end to the other? If so, how do you do it?

US 4650 - Major admin abuse/ban appeal
Donair replied to Donair's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Server name is: US 4650 IP is: 216.244.86.230:2362 This is a screenshot of the exact ban message received. As you can see, this isn't a legitimate ban. http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag157/ForexScreenshots/2013-09-29_1529_zpsf651c10a.png -
I've only played about an hour on 1.8 so far. Things I've noticed, are they true or false? - Seems to be a lot more food - Seems to be a much higher chance of finding weapons, for example the elektro firehall always seems to have an ak or m4 lying around - Zombies have higher dmg + rate of attack? Nearly got mauled by a single zombie because I wasn't aware of this and my keys were all messed up

Lag between when you shoot someone and when they die?
Donair posted a topic in New Player Discussion
I've noticed several times that when I kill someone, or at least when I've clearly killed them ie. emptying an entire clip into someone close range from behind, they still have a couple seconds to react, and in some cases I've still been shot before they die. Is this lag due to my computer? Their computer? Or is that just how the game is? -
Hey guys, so I finally set up my new laptop. Its the sager NP 8235 has a 770M and a i7-4700MQ 2.4 Ghz processor Finally had time to set it up and optimize the settings and it ran the game great. Super smooth in elektro, which I couldn't say for my last laptop. I have a question though. I'd like to create a RAM disk to squeeze that extra bit of FPS. I play DayZ vanilla and Epoch. I have 8 gb of ram, so the ramdisk would have to be about 1.3 gigs total if I were to put both the Dayz + epoch files onto the ram disk. Would this be okay? Thanks

Well, my old laptop which barely ran DayZ died, so I ordered the Sager NP8235 http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8235-clevo-p151sm1-p-5840.html 4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4700MQ (2.4GHz - 3.4GHz) NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 770M (3.0GB) GDDR5 Was about to build a PC, but it's out of the question given my current situation. I know I need at least 3.0 GHz to get good FPS in areas like Cherno, but it looks like the processor can be overclocked no? I've also heard of people getting decent FPS with 2.4 GHz processors on laptops, so I'm not too concerned. I also play other games as well, so if I can't play DayZ, it isn't the end of the world.

Hey guys, I need your opinions of these laptops. I know I know, for the same price I could build a rig, I was about to build one for ~1k, but I'm going to be moving + travelling around a lot, and until I settle down, I don't want to build one just yet. These laptops I'm posting don't have a 3.0 GHz processors, and I've looked into it, and to even get a laptop that has a 3.0 GHz processor, you need to spend upwards of 3k, which is obviously stupid. However it looks like each of these can be overclocked above 3.0 GHz, so will that solve the problem? First off since DayZ is processor intensive, will the Y500p run the game the best without overclocking since it has a 2.6 GHz processor? The Sager is most expensive, but has the best video card. The Lenovo 510p has a slightly lower quality video card, plus with SLI graphics I might get microstuttering on lower FPS, for example in Cherno. However if this really isn't a big deal, I would rather save 200 bucks and just get the Lenovo 510p. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks mate. Ordering it now then.
