Problem solved by using the option "Replace original Arma2OA files with Beta so Steam works" in DayZ commander.

I have the same issue, I was playing with a living hero character, suddenly after a relogin I respawned on the coast after a gender choice with default humanity value in public hive servers. The one thing I did before of relaunching ARMA 2 it was uninstalling "ARMA 2: OA Beta (Obsolete)" by the Steam Client and revalidating ARMA 2: OA files... So... If I reinstall everything I can get my hero back? :-( Can I use DayZ Commander or it is preferable let Steam to install everything?

Hmmm... So it seems this issue unfortunately isn't related to the recent changes, off-topic here, sorry. Thank you for the help. (It seems the safer way - at least in a private hive - is waiting someone or the server change the car position, because you die instantly, no time for a movement or select an action).

Thank you for the good work done for DayZ. I would like to report an issue. Not totally sure this is a regression or there was already in previous versions of the mod: I am died just after a respawn because I lost the connection while I was driving a car. I get respawned inside my vehicle instead of a side part. The first time it occurred due to an application crash, the second one I have used a server restart to reproduce this issue (private hive, if that does matter).

You can just kill bandits only instead. It's clearly harder and funnier.

Losing humanity isn't a consequence? Rebalancing, improving conditions which make loss humanity should work to reduce the KOS rate, no? Not everyone like to be considered a bandit. For example, currently killing fresh spawned and unarmed players make lose more humanity than killing normal full equipped survivors? Killing with a distant gunshot in the back a player with just a melee weapon?

Fortunately I do not need to convince you. Unless DayZ standalone will be without these factions.

It's symbolic, isn't realistic, of course, but you can't ever create a realistic video game. You have more than one life in the game. Developers have to add some "rules" to their product to have things working fine.

I agree with OP that is a problem, it's the main problem. I started to play recently DayZ, but it seems someone is thinking DayZ is even just a KOS game. Since I see too much survivors who play as bandit without wearing the bandit skin, I think the game can be better balanced on how and when bandits are marked with the skin. At least they will have more problems on their way than normal survivors. Probably more conditions where players/bandits can decrease or not increase their humanity may be added.

Well, I'm sorry you got that, no idea why your companion did it. Anyway, I don't think banditry is the solution to your - on the spur of the moment - lack of trust. Bandit or no, a lot of people shoot on sights, though, another group of people is backstabbing at the first occasion...

You don't need to buy ARMA 2 and Operation Arrowhead separately, you can get them with the ARMA 2; Combined Operations bundle, which costs less than £ 20. Also, in the past months ARMA series went on sale 50-75% off. You can try to wait another deal as ARMA 3 is coming soon, so maybe they are going to do that again.
