Rain, broken bones, zombies, 12 year olds, suicide, communication, melee weapons etc
Jvalor replied to Hunter4's topic in Suggestions
I don't really care about the "squeakers". Other than their voice, they don't really bother me. Although, I do wish that in order for a 12 year old to play DayZ they had to give out their parent's phone number so if they were being a snobby little disrespectful shit, I could call their mommy and get them in time-out or something. ^Not serious. A couple of the guys I play with are 15 years old and they are pretty mature in-game. No idea how they are in the real world, but that's not my problem. As far as rain goes, I haven't ever noticed any of my gear getting ruined or damaged from the rain and I always run through the rain. So....that's news to me. And also, even if you lower the amount of ammo that spawns in any given server, that won't stop people from KOSing. It may lower the KOS rates though because the KOSers will spend more time looking for ammo than sitting in a treeline or camping behind the steps in the control tower at the airfields. But seriously, if a kid pops a chubby from killing another player, they will do it whether they have 3 rounds or 50+. -
Ammo loss chance while reloading and sprinting
Jvalor replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in Suggestions
That only happens to "thugs" and "ghetto lovers". Anyone who wears their pants like a normal person shouldn't have to worry about their pants dropping to their ankles in a panic. That does remind me of some video I was watching where some fat slob was outside shooting a shotgun into the air. He fires the shot and his pants immediately fall to his ankles. Good laughs. -
The thread title had me thinking it was going to be something kinky. But seriously, I am finding out that my patience is fading quicker than I expected. I hopped on a hardcore server last night just to screw around as a fresh spawn and take a break from my geared player. Obviously, I didn't have shit on me so I just ran into the middle of the city, (Svetlojarsk I believe) and ended up coming across 5 other guys. Nobody shot anyone...we all just stood around talking and then decided to group up. I was actually having a pretty good time and then sure as shit, someone pops around the corner with an M4+coupled mag and kills all 5 of my friends and attempts to kill me. I managed to flee the scene without taking one hit despite him unloading the remainder of his mag at me. He chases me through the city for a minute until I ran into an apartment buidling and found a Magnum. Already had the rounds so I loaded that sumbitch' up and searched for the koser. He was still looking for me and I managed to sneak up on him and unloaded all 6 six shots into that spineless moron. I was so annoyed at that point I grabbed his M4 and three mags he had on him and then just kind of...went crazy. Killed everything in sight. I don't ever do that, but at that time, I was done trying to make friends. I think I killed like 6 people in the city. Some fresh spawns, a couple guys with SKS and I'm sure some of those were from my old "crew". I hatelove this game.

Make 15%ish chance for pistols to spawn with magazines
Jvalor replied to Bruce of Wayne's topic in General Discussion
You all mean to tell me you don't like chambering one round at a time in your 1911s? Hogwash... -
I miss the days of finding the perfect little camping spot and setting up my tent and storing extra guns and ammo. Then making "resource" runs into the cities or military installations when needed. But then again, took away from the whole punishment of death...

Are snipers the most harmless thing in DayZ?

Ammo loss chance while reloading and sprinting
Jvalor replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in Suggestions
It would definitely add to the whole "realism" thing. Loading rounds into a magazine is a pretty simple concept, but I can definitely see someone in panic mode, hands shaking as they are running with a couple zombies right behind them or hearing rounds whip past their head or impact the ground by their feet. I don't know how many of you have actually been shot at in the real world, but it definitely makes even the easiest movements and actions tougher because your adrenaline and nerves are going wild. -
Yeah, you wouldn't have to die to become a zombie/psycho. You get bit (bitched slapped) by a zombie and there is a chance that you can become infected and then you have to find some meds or whatever to cure it within a certain amount of time or you turn into a "zombie". All of your gear stays on you, but you can't use any of it. You just run around and look for other players to kill/infect until you either - A) Find a player that actually kills you and then all the gear you did have on you, they can take. Or B ) You get tired of running around for 3 hours looking for another player so you have the option to just respawn as a new survivor.

Would be fun if people played along, but no. It will just be another day in Chernarus. Somebody with a gun sees you and they get so excited they pre-cum in their pants and kill you. And then they go to school the next day and brag to their friends about how badass of a Day Z player they are.

Give me a flak jacket and a shemagh and I will be happy. Oh, and more baseball hats. Maybe a trucker hat or two. And no, the assault vests in-game are not flak jackets...
-
You were pretty close to Super Dick Mode... Just joking. Seems reasonable to me. You were more patient than I would've been.

Sounds like a bad B-movie. But congratulations though. Bitches these days. Can't trust them in the real world or in the gaming world.

After following my two asshat friends to NEAF as fresh spawns - and dying both times to a group of 3 bandits, I respawn and ditched my friends and made the long trek west to Balota airfield. Got there and the place hadn't been touched. I got an M4, a Hunting pack, 6 fully loaded 30rd mags, 140+ 7.62x51mm ammo, and a bunch of pristine gear. Meanwhile, my friends stayed on the eastern side of the map and kept getting killed. Western Chernarus is quite nice this time of year...
-
I haven't been broken yet, but if I ever came across the guy, in person, that was glitch-firing at NEAF and killed me a couple nights ago, I would shatter his hands with a sledgehammer. Yes, I raged pretty hard. I don't know why, but that death really pissed me off.

Are snipers the most harmless thing in DayZ?
Jvalor replied to bauertschi's topic in General Discussion
Not counting my past experiences with the Mod, I have encountered 2 snipers in my 3 days playing SA. The first one was at Berezino and he was in the tree line and I was with my two buddies. I think the "sniper" shot at us about 15 times, give or take, and didn't get one hit. The second sniper was at NEAF (of course). And I have no idea where he was, but he dropped me with one round. So...it all depends on who is behind the scope. -
Off topic, but I feel bad for anyone who thinks any and all YouTubers are Day Z pros. Ever wonder why most of the shit you see in their videos look so chaotic and exciting? Probably because a lot of it is staged to get more views and subscribers. On topic, the leg placement is a good point. I just dead-check. It's habit..
-
If I am in close range, I just work my way to their body (cautiously) and put another round in the back of their skull. It's one of the basic things you learn in the military. We call it a dead-check. Others call it double tap.

How difficult would you like the game to be?
Jvalor replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
I don't know, I would just like my main fear of dying to be because of zombies and/or starvation. Not a trigger happy mental asylum escapee wearing a red child's backpack... -
Want a cheap trick? You got a smart phone, right? Download Google Translate and change settings to Russian-English and use the app and snap a picture of your screen, while looking at the road sign in 1st-Person. It's not 100% accurate, but it will give you the name of the place, maybe a tad bit misspelled. But atleast you can put it all together and get a better idea what town or city you are in.

My 2 cents - Whether the night time is accurate or not, I personally would substitute night time realism for an actual realistic day/night cycle in game. Playing at night could be a lot of fun and add new ways to play, but not many people play on servers that has night time active because they don't want to run around in the pitch black for hours. My solution to overall gameplay? During night time, make outside dark, but you are still able to see things because of moonlight. In buildings or any interior, however, make it pitch black so that you would have to pull out your flash light if you wanted to search that house or apartment building.

Just run around yelling, "Have no fear. I will save you!" into your Mic. And make comic-style punching noises while you save a fresh spawn from a zombie.

What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?
Jvalor replied to SomeCallMeNomad (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I'd like more civilian clothes that would be more viable and have more storage slots. Camo is fine, but I would like to get an operator look going for my survivor and that is a mix of military/civilian clothing, not just full camo. And more baseball caps and the option to wear them forwards or backwards. And more camo/military style backpacks. Not really into running around with a blue high-schooler looking pack. But that's just me being picky. -
Well, my "friend", who had been traveling with me for about 3 hours "accidentally" hit me with a shovel...so my finger "accidentally" slipped onto the trigger of my Magnum and I "accidentally" blew his brains out. Oh, and then I "accidentally" stole his canned spaghetti, canteen and 7.62x39mm ammunition...

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
Jvalor replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Am I the only one that isn't threatened by zombies at all? I find killing them, relatively easy. I've only been playing SA for 3 days, but I have yet to die from a zombie and just yesterday, I ran through Cherno on my way to Balota airfield and killed atleast 12-15 zombies. I can take on a group of 3 at a time, with or without a melee weapon and kill all 3 without getting hit MOST of the time. Just strafe left or right and don't stop moving and keep punching/hitting and they will go down. Takes a bit, but still. -
Isn't "DayZ" quite possibly the dumbest name ever?
Jvalor replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The only thing wrong with the name DayZ, is that together it sounds like some 15 year old "wigger" who is posting something on Facebook and he replaces every "S" with a "Z" to come off hip and cool. But yeah, I wouldn't really give a shit what the game was called, as long as it was fun and kept me entertained, which this game does.
