Arma II freezing when Internet is on

I don't even get into a game, but when I did play, my ping was 20 - 50 -
The issue I'm having with Arma II is that whenever my internet is turned off, it runs as smooth as a babies bottom, but when the internet is turned on and I start up Arma II it freezes every two seconds and then comes back after about two minutes, then does it again. I'm running it on steam, my Specs are better than the recommended, I've let it through my firewall. Nothing seems to do the trick to get it to work while my internet is on. I've been playing it online for about three or four months before this started happening, so I don't understand what is happening.

I got Arma II working, but I have to turn off my internet.... I don't think I should have to do that since I want to play DayZ >:( :(

Now my steam crashes as 99% of the download, I've deleted the local content several times to try to get it to work but it's not working. It shows that it is downloading at 9MB/s for a couple of minutes then all of a sudden it drops down to 0 bytes.

That didn't work. So I've uninstalled steam and reinstalled it, not I just got to download Arma II

It doesn't say what file it it. While validating it says 'Validating Steam Cache files (0 of 1)'

It keeps saying '1 files failed to validate and will be acquired.'

I've played this game a lot for over three months and all of a sudden it doesn't get past the Arma II screen. I go into the task manager and it says it's responding. I've just left it there and then I got onto it after an hour or so. I've got a high end laptop, they specs are a lot better than what is needed and I use to be able to play this game lag free.
