Just starved to death in Cherno

Yep, me and my friend have been moving town to town, deer stand to deer stand and only found 1 can of beans over the span of about 4 hours playtime. And we only found it because it was in the supermarket of Stary Sobor. There were 2 cans of drink in there I think. Rocket needs to raise the loot percentage of food a bit more... Assuming he did lower it.

    Give back guns

I kind of agree. I'm okay with the no gun at spawn thing, might be better if they gave us the Makarov but with no ammo. They certainly shouldn't have increased the infected's sight along with having no weapon. Especially since they still run and hit through walls and the LOS doesn't seem to work all that well.

1.7.1 in 20 words or less

Zombies too sensitive to sight. They see me when slow crouch-walking from quite far away. Spawning without a weapon is annoying, mainly because the Loss of Sight thing doesn't quite work that well. They still hit through walls as well. >_<
  4. Matches are super rare, and when you don't have a hospital near by, you need other means of getting blood by making a fire to then cook meat and get blood from the meat. Are there any places where matches are often found? Also, is there any other way to make a fire other than use matches? Or is there any other way to cook meat without a wood-pile made camp fire?

Most likely places to find matches?

Hmm, where are some spots that have those "hobo barrels". I've only seen a few, 1 being at the construction site next to the crane in Cherno. Problem is, I'm in-land and I'm no way near Cherno.

    The blood meter needs balancing

Agreed. Slow blood regeneration after not being hit for a while and not losing blood from falling a small height need to be added.

The supermarkets? Are they most common there? And can they be found in churches often as well?

    How much would you pay?

No more than £30. Although, I like Rocket's idea about being able to pay more than the "low base price".
  9. If you run into a true bandit who just kills on sight, you won't have time to even hear their heartbeat, you would literally be dead in a heartbeat. ...I think this may be too subtle. And if we're talking about being able to hear them even when they're behind us, that's too much of a punishment. Being sneaky and try to bypass players with this heartbeat would be thrown out of the window.
  10. Yes (As long as you have the whole having to look at the character to hear the heartbeat) Looking directly at the player to hear it is cool, but that may take too long to look at them and hear the heartbeat. Remember - it only takes a bullet or 2 from a Winchester to be put down.
  11. NO Unless you plan on increasing the spawns and regularity of the Makarov and it's mags, then sure. Otherwise Elektro/Cherno is going to be overrun by defenseless players sprinting around trying to find a weapon. And seriously, how many times do you find a weapon in a small house in a small town like Komarovo (Next to Balota). I rarely find weapons in these kinds of houses. And considering 70% of houses in a small village/town are locked, how the hell are you gonna stand any chance if you don't spawn next to Cherno/Elecktro? And no, I don't wanna see a clusterfuck of unarmed players sprinting around Cherno "aggroing" all the zombies in my vicinity.
  12. I've played DayZ fine before, just ensure about how to work the ArmA2:CO updates and if they're working. I installed DayZ correctly and played a few games of it, although some servers require certain updates or higher and I don't think I have those updates. Most of these servers don't allow me to go on them because of the ArmA2 updates. I have the 1.7.0 DayZ update (current) but it's the ArmA2 updates that I'm unsure of. It says in the bottom right corner of the Arma2:OA menu that I have version 1.60.87580. I tried installing OA patch 93616 (from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php) Is this the latest version? I see servers requiring "1.60.93616" and I can't join them. But mine didn't seem to work when I tried installing OA Patch 93616. How do I get it to recognize on my game? What is the correct way to download these latest patches for ArmA2:OA?
  13. Ahh ok thanks, that worked. But does that mean I have to run the game through that shortcut every time now? Because I'd have to link it through Steam as a "Non-Steam Game". It's like a different game or something? Also, does that mean it still includes ArmA2 and ArmA2 Operation Arrowhead when I launch that beta version because I used to right click on ArmA2:OA in Steam and select "Launch ArmA2:CO". Just to make sure I had all the skins and such available.
  14. I looked in there and ran the only application file. It said that it patched and had installed correctly... Didn't do anything.
