Pending Changelog: Experimental Branch: 0.42.116002
Ellen Ripley replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
Performance issues came with 0.42 not 0.37 which is beeing worked on for stable... Only reason why it wasn't released for stable have been problems with invisible players and zeds for some clients. 0.37 was quite stable and had better performance than 0.35 -

To all those who are complaining about the changelog. This threads first post contains a list of all changes that have been made since the last stable release. As stated in red at the very top of that post. Theres nothing wrong with that! The problem is though the sorting of all changes. They should add those that come later to the bottom of the list. It would make it easier to find and distinguish. Now to those who are _complaining_ about stuff on the experimental build. Please stop using it and stick to the stable branch. To everyone whos stating his experience without beeing judgemental, an idiot or an ass: Keep it on! -

See you are complaining about problems on the EXPERIMENTAL branch. I simply can't understand how anyone can complain about anything thats happening on there. Its purely for a larger scaled testing purpose. Thats how they collect data about their changes and how they behave in a real case. Its not for us End-users to enjoy! Obviously thats what you don't understand. If you can't stand it please for everyones sake don't use the experimental branch. They did not lie. There is a difference between a lie and a statement one could not fulfill due to unforseen problems. This in an Alpha as stated billions of times, performance fixing is not a relevant/priority part of alpha builds. If you can't stand the current builds or perfromance please do not play. And stop complaining. You have been warned several times before buying the Early Access. Even Dean said NOT TO BUY IT YET. Stop complaining like a child. Also check this out: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216291078#-1 Helped me a lot performance wise... No you can only choose between 0.35 stable or 0.42 Experimental now. Nope. Has been delayed. They want to fix 2 bugs related to players/zombies being invisible to some clients before pushing 0.37 to stable branch. -

Man I actually had to log in again just to rant. Whats wrong with all those kids and adults with lacking logic of cognition. How come they can't grasp how game developing is done. For me its quite simple to understand that only because we don't see much difference between 0.37 and 0.42 doesn't mean there is none. There are most likely dozens of changes that are currently inactive because they are not finished. For example physics, hunting, cooking and persistent storage mechanics. Its not like they'll add all of those things once they've finished them, nope. They are already in this builds but unfinished or inactive due to other problems or bugs or whatever reason there might be. Man I wish they would put up an IQ test or something like that for Alpha releases to prevent all this bullshit people state online. It's really annoying and embarrassing how stupid people behave. And to all those complaining about desync or lags. Remember a lot of people are currently rushing the experimental servers, those problems might be related to that rather then the build itself. @ Dean, Hicks and all the others working on this, keep up the good work and do your best to make this game even greater! -
Rolling Changelog has awesome Stuff mentioned. Makes me wanna play DayZ again, can't wait for it! Keep up that good work guys!

I am asking out of curiousity: Do any devs still work on DayZ? Because the rolling changelog had no update for 3 Weeks now. Dunno if thats normal or if further work just wasn't added to the next dayz patch...

Yeah I know how the gameindustry works and what pre-alpha, alpha and beta means. I was just pointing out those things that don't work at all. Though you are right I may have been expecting to much for an pre-alpha build. AFAIK the alpha should come out when all the network issues are handled. At least thats what i remember to have read/heard somewhere. -

Quote from Devblog "And here is the short video. More to follow on the devblog over the weekend." I didnt see anymore coming over the weekend. Also the Vid has some sweet points. The Graphics do look nice so far in my opinion. But most of those Animations still look quite bad and the Zeds still behave stupid and out of control which is quite a bummer. Hope we will see improvements on this parts fast. Because as of now this "Standalone" still looks like a mod with many bugs. Nothing which would encourage me to buy it. I'd expect more of a standalone, features like Origins got them with more vehicles and modifications on those. Not only weapon mods. Which is nice but doesnt suite the whole "Im a normal person trying to survive" purpose. I do hope there will be more to do then just trying to stay alive or killing each other.
