300 hours here and I've never seen a hacker. Never had my character wiped either which others report as a problem. Maybe I'm just lucky. Who knows.

Yeah, I can agree with a lot of folks here about the abuse it could cause and I think 1 character per server is a fair compromise. That would also eliminate server hopping as a byproduct. :)

Alright then. I see I'm not going to get anywhere with that attitude.

That's basically the work around I've been using. I use experimental right now when I'm playing alone and the regular servers when I play with my wife or friends. It's the best I can do for now.

They could definitely take some ideas from WoW (which they already have). So.. yeah.

I'm not sure you ever really understood what DayZ was meant to be. P.S. Every time you use the f-bomb in your posts it makes you sound like your 12 years old. No offence, but nobody will take anything you say seriously when you talk like that.

All I said is I've never had a character wiped. Neither has anyone I've ever played with. So from my perspective it's obviously a very, very small group of people that might have this problem. And it's not me so that's all that really matters. ;)

After over 300 hours in the Standalone I have never ever had my character wiped. Not one single time. I'm starting to think it's a myth like Bigfoot or Elton John.

Haha I forgot about that. I tried both of those manoeuvres when I first picked up the Standalone. Got taken out pretty darn quick when the Zeds just kept coming at me.....lol.

I played the original mod back in the day, but the Standalone is already 10 times better IMHO. And it's still only in Alpha which really surprises me. Sure there's lots of features that are in the mod that will eventually make it to the Standalone but I expected it to be much worse at this stage. So far it's pretty damn good if you ask me. Then again these are all just opinions much like yours. ;)

Very nice. Now if only the devs would just incorporate that feature into the useless "History" list so it wasn't a rambling mess we'd be set. ;)

I'd take helicopters over players crapping in the woods any day. Gameplay trumps realism every time. ;)

I used to run to Zub Castle on my way to Starey Sobor back in the mod. Great place to gear up. I swing by every once in awhile for nostalgia.

My wife finally broke down and decided to try it out after watching me and my buddies play for the last few months. I never thought she'd like it but we've been having a blast playing together. :)

When did he say they weren't on the same server? His buddies could've been on their way to him already.

Here's a link to the video where I got the basic macro setup for Razer Synapse. This guy made it for the keyboard but you can do the same thing with the Naga. Just make sure you also bind you sprint ability in game to the same key on your mouse. Personally I use button 5 right below the scroll wheel. :) http://youtu.be/YyE9bohcMFw

I made an autorun macro on my Razer Naga. I can't even imagine playing without it anymore. :D

Awesome story and all, but in all honesty most people don't take the game as seriously as you guys do. If I was him I would've run for it as well. I would never even consider being taken hostage. Better to be killed and start over. So to answer your question: "Why do some players do everything possible to avoid interaction?" Because they don't want to be humiliated or tortured.

"Why wont people play in the night ?" Because it's damn near impossible to see anything. Even with a flashlight you can only see a very narrow FOV. Besides the fact that walking around with your flashlight on is a "Please Kill Me Now" sign. I actually really like twilight or dawn. If they made nighttime look like that I would definitely keep playing after the sun goes down. Until then it's pointless.
