Very nice! How do you switch the M4 to single shot per click? I've never tried that and would love to be able to take out some zeds from a distance if I could while conserving ammo.

That is true. I have been finding a lot more ammo for the M4 than the Mosin so far.

Awesome, thanks for the input. I do have a .45 pistol with decent ammo and I play a fair bit by myself when they're not online. It's a tough choice I never thought I'd have to make, honestly. :)

I would be ecstatic if DayZ came to Xbox One! I seriously considered buying a PS4 when I heard Rocket was looking into the Playstation over Xbox, but I just couldn't go through with it. I've played PC games for about 10 years and consoles for almost 30 years, and I've always hated using a keyboard/mouse. I vastly prefer using an Xbox controller.

Nope, not a chance. DayZ would become a footnote in the history of gaming if they removed 3PP. Keeping it appeals to the masses and removing it would be foolish.

Removing 3PP would be absolutely disastrous for the game. They'd be going from potentially 1 million players down to maybe a hundred thousand.... if that. There's FAR more players that play 3PP then you might think. Whether it's for the so-called "exploit", or because it's to play with their friends or simply because they like it better. Removing 3PP would be a death sentence for the game just because a small vocal minority don't think it's "fair".

Sorry, but it's not an exploit if both sides have access to the same advantage. That's like saying guns are an exploit. What if some players want to play DayZ using nothing but bare-knuckle boxing to be more "hard-core"? Should they demand all weapons be removed from the game?

Whomever sees someone first in 1PP has pretty much won as well. It doesn't matter what view you're using. I've been looting buildings in Electro using 3rd person and had people sneak up behind me many times. They easily could've been watching me with 1PP from another building and I just didn't see them.

I don't like the more restrictive camera angles either, honestly. And I don't need to think of ways to "fix" 3PP since I like it just the way it is. If anyone can can come up with a better solution I'm all ears (or eyes I guess). :P Until then there's no point in breaking 3PP to suit a limited playstyle.

The reason people are against the 4th wall mod is because it looks ridiculous. Zombies seemingly popping in and out of nowhere is a terrible idea IMHO.

Exactly. It has always had both views. So trying to alter the view you don't like to fit your own personal playstyle isn't exactly fair to the people that like it just the way it is.

I'll say this: If DayZ was created from the start with only 1PP you might have a leg to stand on. Unfortunately for the vocal minority it was designed as a 3PP game with an optional 1PP. Limiting yourself to 1PP is a choice you've made.

I never heard anything about 3PP exploits until I decided to check out the forums on a whim last week. I was quite surprised when I realized people were actually complaining about it.....lol. :D

Except how many players enjoy playing DayZ just the way it is and don't go to the forums to vote on a poll? Impossible to tell, but far more than the ones that like to complain I'd suspect. Just sayin' ;)

Sorry, but the popularity of 3PP servers FAR outweigh any polls on a DayZ forum. The majority still prefer to leave it as is.

It's entirely possible to gain a combat advantage over someone even if both players are using 1PP. Gaining an advantage does not make something an exploit.

What if the 3 guys on the other side of the wall saw this Lone Ranger coming a mile away using 3PP and set up an ambush? 3PP is equal to both sides if they both have the same view. It's just a matter of who sees who first. The exact same principle applies to 1PP. One player will always get the drop on the other.

If all players in DayZ were using 3PP then there would be "no combat advantage gained" as you so nicely put. Thank you for proving my point. ;)
