I logged into a thunderstorm earlier this morning. Gotta say it was pretty awesome! But on the down side my buddies and I have all noticed a MAJOR drop in performance ever since. Doesn't matter what server we go to or what the weather is like. Could be mid-day and clear blue skies but after a few mins of running around we all start lagging really, really bad. :(

Was there ever really a topic though? Or was his whole point meant to start a flamewar?

Maybe my idea of a Good Samaritan and yours is different. I don't consider putting a bag on someone's head and rifling through their stuff very friendly. You might do it because you're being cautious but like you said at the end it sounds more like a "forced trade". If that's what the OP is complaining about then yeah I would hate that too. When I decide to help fresh spawns on the coast I keep my distance and offer up some goods like water, food and yes even weapons. Just to give them a leg up on starting fresh. I have never had anyone turn on me yet. It's a risk I'm willing to take and I would do the same IRL if the world ever came to that.

Obviously there's something not right about Macdeth if he can't grasp the idea of offering help to someone without reward.Yes, there are people out there that do it to make themselves feel better or superior or what have you. But there are also other people out there that like to be nice "just to be nice". No hidden agenda. That's just who they are. If he can't see that then I genuinely feel sorry for him. :(

I'm all for characters bound to a server and login queues but they can't even consider that until they have MUCH bigger server capacity. Even 150 players doesn't sound like enough for a server if you're waiting in queue for 3 hours to play your favorite character with friends.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. I have an M4 with 4 clips including 2 double 30's, an FNX45 with 2 clips and Magnum with about 30 rounds. No way I need that much firepower....lol. Think I might just go drop the pistols down by the coast for some lucky fresh spawn. :)

In a real zombie apocolypse I'm pretty sure you'd be avoiding potentially hostile humans every single day. And in DayZ all players are extremely likely to be hostile. Much more so than the real world.

Why would a civilian need a fully automatic weapon? /facepalm

Well I guess it depends on your preferred playstyle. Some people like to play DayZ as a FPS like Call of Duty (1PV players), others like to play it as an MMORPG like WoW or SWTOR (3PV players). Great thing about this game is that you get to do both. :)

I've heard they've added radios recently but I haven't seen one yet. Are there any specific places people are finding them or is it completely random? Any helpful hints would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

I actually had this same idea not too long ago. I think it would awesome if we could turn into zombies even for a little while after being killed. :)

I'm not sure, but it's really annoying and quite sad honestly. I play both personally and love the "user-friendliness" of consoles compared to PC's. The only reason I play anything on a PC is because they usually have some of the best games. If those games were on Xbox One I would definitely play them there instead.

Way more realistic now. I'm glad they fixed the saline bags. It was one of my suggestions quite awhile back. :)

Not gonna lie, it took me an extremely long time to figure out how to finally survive in this game. My current strategy after a fresh respawn is to follow the coastline until I find a freshwater stream or marsh and fill up on fluids ASAP. After that I know I've got quite a bit of time before I get hungry. I then head inland and find a small town to look for an axe and food. Once I've found those 2 things I know I'm good to go for the long haul. Most important thing is to get away from the coast. Too many Zeds and too many players over there. :)

Alright, so I've played the mod for about a year and put about 80 hours into the standalone so far. I've got 2 buddies I play with fairly regularly and we've traversed most of the map including the NWAF. My one friend has a Mosin with limited attachments and the other a sawed-off shotgun. I've personally been rocking an M4 with about 4 clips and a bunch of ammo. Now, I finally stumble across a pristine Mosin after they've logged off to go to bed. So my question is do I swap out the M4 for the Mosin? Mind you I'd be potentially giving up on a lot of ammo. I'm looking for suggestions on what's better for endgame with a couple friends. M4 or Mosin? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
