Experimental brings us hunting, do you want to know what this means?
Gdaddy22 replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
reduce canned food and water by 100% -
DayZ Standalone was released way too early. Milions of new DayZ players who haven't played the mod bought the standalone and they saw a deatmatch game with KoS everywhere and the community that will be the people of DayZ in the future are those who were raised on KoS and it will be hard to change their mentality. The devs should have waited with the standalone and release it when there is less deatmatch

1. DayZ is a real-time game (which means an hour in real world = an hour in game) 2. Marijuana grows for weeks or months. You would have to sit there for months waiting for your plant to grow unless we wanna speed it up for the sake of marijuana and at the same time lose realism.

BEST IDEA EVER also create non pvp servers and god mode servers
-
Let's go even further, you die = dayz gets deleted from your steam and you have to pay $29.99 to buy new one each time you die

How about random rare loot that DOESN'T spawn in normal areas like firestations, supermarkets etc. It has a chance to spawn anywhere on the map at random time. So we can be just walking at random place and random time and find this item on the ground (on the street, in forest, in trash bin etc) Those items would be rare and people would want to trade them since it would be hard to find them. You can't say where do those items spawn because they spawn anywhere

Remove "players" from server list + reduce number of servers (?)
Gdaddy22 posted a topic in Suggestions
We should remove the "player" column next to server's name in the server list. The reasons why: -People cheat. Yes, it's cheating the game. When people are freshspawns they only join 0/40 or 1/40 servers so they can loot anything they want with 0 risk. -Once they got the best eq in the game they can switch to a 39/40 server and they have a huge advantage over people who are trying to find something on that server. -This game should be much harder. Being able to see how many players are there on the server makes it easy. If there are 40 people on the server, you will obviously watch every bush and play very carefully, expecting someone to be around every corner. But when you play on a 1/40 server, you can sprint everywhere without even payin attention to the game, you aren't afraid of anything because you know no one will kill you. This is wrong. We are supposed to ALWAYS feel the threat, and ALWAYS play carefully and act like there could be someone behind every corner, you should NEVER know how many players are there. MCW (Most common whines) Some people will say "But what if I only want to play on a low pop server because it's too hard on a high pop server and now I'm not able too see which ones are low pop"? -Well then stop being a pussy, this is a hardcore zombie survival, you either get hardcore or go play mario. Some people will say "But what if I keep playing on a low pop server and don't meet anybody and it will be boring"? -At this point it would be boring, but as the alpha keeps getting better and better, we hope there would be much more things to do when you don't meet other players. Also we should reduce the number of servers so that people wouldn't be so spread (right now there are plenty of empty servers with 0/1 on the server and they never have people playing on them except for one or two server hoppers who as I mentioned before are cheating. Remove them) -
I like this idea

The zombies are still walking through wall. The developers decided to re-do everything from the base so it will take a little longer but the effect will me much better. You have to be patient

It's sad that the suggestions forum is filled with threads about adding weapons, certain items or auto run key and there's none about the gameplay. At this point of alpha dayz has weak gameplay. What I mean by "weak?. It sure has the adrenaline moments or cool squad battles but it's not enough. It needs more to the gameplay, it needs more mechanics. From what I know so far the only "big" thing everyone is talking about that's gonna be added are tents, vehicles and bases. But it's not enough. We will just have a slightly better DayzMod. The game will get boring sooner or later. You need to add some advanced stuff to the game instead of just adding items and new towns. I'm not saying that you should do it right now. Take your time, 2 years idc. But you should start considering it right now. That's what alpha is for, isn't it?

I suggest you to suggest better suggestions

Sleep is a very good idea You wouldn't die from lack of sleep because that would be too much, but if you lack sleep you'd bleed more often from getting hit, you become tired faster, you are weaker so it's harder for you to carry all your stuff etc
-
now wouldn't this better than what we have right now or what we had in the mod ? http://youtu.be/Zm7a176IS8s?t=3m28s

This is official, everytime i gear up and i have the best gear in the game, when I die i feel nothing. Totally nothing, I just respawn and keep playing. I dont know how but please make something that would make us feel like "OH NOOOO" when we die instead of "eh i died again zzz"

I don't understand people who start screaming COD KID, PERKS WILL RUIN THE GAME, LOL THIS ISN'T WOW as soon as they hear word "skills". Please understand that it can be something different and it can fit perfectly a game such as DayZ
-
>implying you will be able to find so much ammo that you can waste it like moron
-
Whatever you say, but you should realize all the things this game needs to change before people forget about this game, and tents, storages, animals and vehicles aren't solution to everything, you just get DayZ mod+ A.K.A standalone
-
Not really, DayZ should be a game that ALWAYS has this tension and action, there is no time for pussies who want be a bit more layed back and be safe on a 1/40 server It's a hardcore survival game. You don't know what to expect.

ahaha no i spawned at berezino and 20 minutes later I had tons of mags of all kinds. Reduce the spawn
-
Since 1,8 came out the new zombie spawns are just pain in the ass. It totally ruined most of my favorite sniping spots because zombies are just spawning out of ass and I can't stay still for a 5 minutes before I have to change my spot because some zeds spawned behind me. Zeds spawning in forest are just annoying and they make no sense, so no crazy zombie spawning in the forest and by every utility pole please
-
Am I the only one experiencing this problem ? Before the update there was maybe a 1/20 chance of your character getting wiped, but now my character becomes a freshspawn on the coast every time I log off. Like EVERY time, no exceptions. And I'm always playing on the same server. I tried 5 times, everytime I did something and log off, I came back as a freshspawn

First the developers should work on an anti-cheating system that is good enough to prevent people from hacking. Then if everything fails we should consider other options.
-
YES ! We should add it. It's a good idea and all the people who say no just don't want the game to get better...
-
I will keep this thread away from dying until it's added to the game

Although many people consider this game a large-map battlefield, with zombies just as a background like trees or grass, It's supposed to be a hard zombie survival. The main thing in DayZ that makes it DayZ is looting and searching for items in towns etc. The best way to loot is to loot the biggest cities like Elektro/Cherno etc. But since it's supposed to be a hard game, it should be hard to loot big cities. I'm not only talking about increasing the amount of zombies so that there is no space to breathe, I'm talking about mechanics and features that would make us plan how are we going to loot a city, where do we go first, what places to avoid, what places could be safe etc, instead of just running through the middle of the city YOLO style and picking up all the loot while fapping and not paying attention to the game. So here are some ideas: I know you've heard this 1000 times but I need to say it again in order to start my essay: first off - increase the amount of zombies and make them stronger, faster, more powerful, so that when they spot you - you know you're screwed and you have to run. Next idea comes from game The Walking Dead (episode 4 when they're in Savannah) Noises - Since we're talking about increased amount of zombies, especially in big cities, we shouldn't be able just to run past them like we do now. Since the places where we could possibly find some useful items are surrounded by hordes of zombies. what we can do is we can make a loud noise, for example find a bell tower and pull the bell rope, so the bell rings and the noise spreads across the city and at that moment zombies head towards the source of the sound. Then it's our time to loot, since most of the zombies went to check the bell. They would stay there under the bell for some time and then they would come back, so we have limited time to loot as much as possible and escape. It doesn't only have to be bell, it could be many different ways to attract zombies into one place, like fireworks, a horn, a loud music playing from the radio, etc. Next idea - killing zombies. It shouldn't be as ridiculously easy as it is right now. When we shoot one zombie, our shot should be heard all across the city and it should attract all hungry zombies to that spot. If we got in trouble, and we don't want to die, we can run. But before we enter a city we should plan our looting trip, so that when we got in trouble and we have to run, we know few places where it's easier to get away from zombies, like sewers, buildings with multiple exits etc. Next thing - the looting itself. We shouldn't know where things are. Like - now, we all know that in that building right there, there is gonna be a gun. In that one, there is gonna be a backpack, etc. It should be more random, so we actually have to explore the city looking for things. I know it's all hard to put in the game, but I think 2 years should be ok. TL;DR - Make looting harder
