Glad my guide is helping so many people. Try manually installing battleeye: -If you run into any more issues with Battleeye you will need to head over and download this http://www.battleye....61/BEClient.dll place with file in expansion\battleeye Aside from this i reccomend updating your beta patch using the guide i posted. Note that the patch has been updated again so you will need to type the relevant patch number into your filter.

Computer Completely Shuts Down During Gameplay
RTribesman replied to no7luck's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Without delving too deep into hardware issues. As previously posted, the 2 main reasons for seemingly random reboots or shutdowns are A:Over heating and B:Faulty powersupply. A: There are programs out there to monitor your CPU/GPU temps, i suggest you try that first. Your reports that you posted seem fine to me but they dont include a CPU temp. If your cpu is over heating just remember everytime you let it over heat and 'crash' there is a higher rate of degradation and a much higher possibility that it can become damaged beyond fixing. While its not a very high possibility, with issues like this i always advise people to nip them in the bud earlier rather than later. I would find the 'average' and 'critical' temperature range for your CPU then start fiddling with the bios settings, perhaps increase the minimum shutdown temp by 10 or so degrees, open your case and clear our the fans thoroughly. Buy a better fan if you want to go down that road. Have you had the same/ similar issues with other high intensity games? Try playing a fairly graphics intense game and up the settings as much as possible and push your system to its maximum to try replicate the issue outside of dayz. The next time you crash if you havent got a temp monitor running boot the pc up straight away and enter the bios, check the cpu temp as quick as you can. B. Power supplies can become faulty for no reason at all. They can suddenly lose the power to manage what load your system requires. Even if the supply is not faulty its still possible that under high pressure situations it just cant reach the capacity needed. Powersupplies are relatively cheap but a good power supply is a good investment. High wattage is not always high quality and vice versa so do your research. If the power supply is faulty then you wont ahve much choice but to buy a new one. However if the powersupply suddenly cant handle the load any more try opening the system up, removing power cables to spare hardrives, cdrom drives or anything else that is not needed. Then try and replicate the problem. -

Connecting to a DayZ server temporarily disables my Internet connection!!
RTribesman replied to JesseB954's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Have you guys checked your routers to ensure all necessary ports are open? strange that the whole connection is going down though. -
Its down to the new beta patches. Use the latest beta patch, 95054(released yesterday), as the 2/3 previous ones seem to be buggy as shit. Heres a quick guide if you need it. This is my current install method and i havent ran into any problems so far. Game working 100% -Both games fully installed and ran before any mods or betas are applied. -Dayz Updater ran and fully updated. Sometimes this updater has issues, in which case i use the torrent file instead. This can be found on the dayz website under "download alpha". Note. The files inside the torrent get extracted into: Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@DayZ\Addon or if you havent used the default folder then find your install of steam and go to \Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@DayZ\Addon make sure you replace the existing files if necessary. -Download latest beta patch (currently ARMA2_OA_Build_95054.zip) from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php -Run the .exe and install. -Heres the important bit most people miss or do not do correctly: Go back to your steam directory, default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common, open the folder "arma 2 operation arrowhead" then rename "arma2OA.exe" to something like "xxxarma2OA.exe"(this is to create a backup should you ever need to remove the patch). From that same directory you need to move on to a folder named\Expansion\ then \beta\. Within here you will find another file named "arma2OA.exe". You need to right-click and copy this, then paste into \steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead(make sure you overwrite the existing .exe if necessary). -Next just paste the following into "launch options" of Arma II: Operation Arrowhead" in your steam library: -beta=Expansion\beta;ca;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@DayZ;ca -Make sure to use 95054 in the filter after youre fully updated as the new beta is not backward compatible. -If you run into any more issues with Battleeye you will need to head over and download this http://www.battleye.com/downloads/arma2/1.61/BEClient.dll place with file in expansion\battleeye -Be sure to launch the game as "combined operations". The game should be fully working and playable.

Two computers, different IP's, same house, cannot connect to same server
RTribesman replied to semipr0's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Looks like dayZ has no support for identical IP addresses. My only suggestions are to: A. Connect through a different internet connection(not ideal really) B. Use a proxy server to connect one computer through before joining the game. C. Some sort of ip changer which i am not very familiar with. Niall -

I believe the "server" file is only for server hosts. Download the first one and it should be placed in expansion\battleeye Glad you guys are having some luck. Niall.

No issues here, have always used this method since i first start playing. What went wrong?

New PC, can i copy Arma2 from old pc?
RTribesman replied to gobacktogo's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
The only thing i think you may have an issue with is that each version of arma has to be ran once before any mods or betas can be installed. Im not sure if this is for the benefit of the game install/steam or if it is something else then you may encounter issues. -

just checked, your character profiles are stored in documents so if youre gonna do it then copy them also so you dont have to rebind everything. -
New PC, can i copy Arma2 from old pc?
RTribesman replied to gobacktogo's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If you install steam then place both arma folders in the correct locations and run steam you should have a much shorter download. Steam generally only downloads what files are missing/needed. You may lose character profiles though, im not sure if these are stored within the steam folder or elsewhere. -
Guildie having the same issue. We tried deleting his player profiles and starting fresh but had no luck. Tried alot of shit really and still no joy. Have you tried the new beta patch? It was only released today so if may fix it.

Well i dont think its really necessary to completely reinstall, If you follow from the second step you shouldnt have any issues, let me know how you get on.

There is a new beta patch as of today, 95054. i'll paste in a quick and easy step by step guide i wrote on my install method. Pay particular attention to the copying of the beta exe. Constant wait for host with 95054?

As far as i can work out the 95054 patch is not backwards compatible with earlier patches, use 95054 in your server filter and play on one of those servers and it seems to work perfectly. -
