    Mauser C96

It could be one of the more mod-able pistols, it could have a lovely scope mount, a beautiful stock/ holster, could always fit other things like extended magazine oil filter suppressor, duct taped on knife bayonet. I think they should go all out for everything with customisation. Something that would work even short term in real life, like an improvised suppressor should also be included and loose effectiveness after a few shots.

    Uk vz. 59

They wouldn't disappear, they should still be around. But they would be the first things to get snatched up. Inexperienced people take them, go around fire them with surplus rounds, leave them for a while and corrode the barrel and chamber. Guns left over would be guns that people used before the infection, guns that are maintained easily that can be taken apart and cleaned by a novice shooter. Guns that would survive several years, which I'm guessing by car degrading has how long it has been since day 0.

Yes, awesome gun and suits the Czech Republic sort of post soviet state they're going with. Should be found in police stations as well as barracks, because I'm quite sure it is used as a police firearm too. In my country (New Zealand) some police cruisers have a draw in the boot with an M4 in it. So maybe the randomly spawning police cars could also have a chance to have a rifle like this in the boot.

a few ideas that iv thought of...

I have multiple times, two reasonable calm people that enjoy more than just loot and killing people will happily trade.I've walked up to people before and they sometimes even have no mic yet, I've talked to them they've lowered their guns and we've gone our separate ways. Often it's the people most keen to follow you about that are looking to stab you in the back. I don't like to say it because the frequency of KoS annoys me still but I think I've probably talked and gone separate ways with most people I've seen. This is NZ/AU servers though, and from quite a few sources we're friendlier to strangers than most parts of the world.

Private Shards with 0.49? Features? Price?

What if you have something that gives the server population a portion of the control, and the admin just has an larger portion of the vote than a random person.E.g no admin can have a community of just friends that would be very big to get ban vote majority so without solid user base convincing evidence he will only be able to kick somebody into the lobby, where he will be able to defend himself during a server wide vote for temporary ban. After this ban then BI will check out this guy properly, get his activity from the server and decide whether or not he should be banned permanently from all of DayZ. He may have a few friends, but ultimately the server won't listen to what he has to say unless there is solid evidence and others to back him up. Even if the Hacker succeeds in winning the publics trust he will be on very close watch from everybody. I suggest admins being able to do short wind backs after a ban too. A system somewhat like that will give the players the majority of the server control and having everybody involved in a ban this means the server admin will have to have a better excuse than "you killed me, I'm going to ban you" the people will be onto that, he will have to have people that you trust backing him up. Then if BI finds that he's an innocent player he gets unbanned and the server admin gets marked and warned, after 3 marks he looses his ability to administrate servers.

Tents. What are they good for? Absolutely Nuttin

Tents should remain very rare, and lets not forget that tents are never safe. Decide to go without your best equipment and you risk loosing it all overnight.

Private Shards with 0.49? Features? Price?

I hope so, I think whitelists are an absolute must for setting up a good community. It gives people a name, you can set up fun community events and form alliances or rivalries.

    The 'war on snipers'

I like that they're making long range shots harder is good. I don't think the idea of picking someone off at long range with little to no consequences suits DayZ. It's very inpersonal and destroys what I enjoy when I'm in a fire fight, being able to yell at my enemy. Warn them to back the hell off before I kill them. While maybe sway could be made a bit more realistic while prone I think this should be done when more variables can affect bullet travel, like wind and environment. I'm all for them lowering gun dispersion and stuff too. Also making people use the PU scope on the mosin, since the LRS has weaver rails. But hopefully when all that is done shots over a couple hundred metres will require some time and thought. Hopefully the bullet sounds will attract a lot more zombies too. It's not about making it hard, it's about making it realistic/ authentic I believe. I think hitting shots accurately over 300m requires quite a bit of skill and experience, not that I have any experience past small bore backyard shooting though.

    What happened to Pax Prime?

I actually got to see the server, it was called astro and showed the same version as experimental. When I spawned in I was at Churno which I don't think currently happens in exp yet. So there may have been some small differences, but having the client exp build at the time I probably wouldn't have seen anything different that isn't done by the server. I didn't get many errors or anything so I don't assume much was different.

    What happened to Pax Prime?

Before they bring it to stable I think they finish the features they were adding to experimental, to make sure everything is working.

AKS-74U confirmed... could this mean...? no...

AKS-74U and hopefully they decide to add 5.45x39mm

    BRM-1K

I would imagine something like an armoured APC would be very easy for server hosts and even official servers to keep a track of.To just pop up inexplicably? Hacker! Or duping somehow. I'm thinking it will also be capped out at about 1-2 per server with a 1 in a million spawn chance.
  13. I would like to see a set of medieval armour. Maybe not a full set, but more of a medium mix of chain and plate. Like a breastplate, helmet, gloves, lower arm, and other not too mobile areas with chain mail over the joints and such. Like the Mason Order knight from Chivalry :Medieval Warfare which I'm told has Eastern/ Russian sort of twist (not that Chernarus is Russia, but I assume it's very closeby). Like this http://rusmnb.ru/index.php?action=media;sa=media;in=2104 Also for zombies and clothes, I think they shouldn't spawn with clothes. They should spawn as normal old zombie models but the clothes they're wearing should be in the game available to players. You could then go up to their dead body and select strip zombie. It would spawn damaged, badly damaged copies of the clothing on the ground beside them and change the zombie model to one in its underwear. The game could decide not to even bother spawning ruined items if it wanted to. I think this is good because it stops all the items coming in when people aren't even going to stop and look on the zombies. I also think zombies need to have a different models and abilities to match, large athletic looking male zombies could be fast and strong. Some zombies could have motorbike leathers and a helmet on, making them hard to hurt. Military or police zombies could have ballistic vests on, riot gear zombies etc etc. Medieval armour zombie could be a chance to spawn at castles :D

    BRM-1K

True, but if you avoid adding things because people will try and cheat the system, then why have anything rare at all?
  15. In an emergency you would be far more accurate with iron sights and a pair of binocs.Than a gun with a really shitty scope and a bad telescope.
  16. They need to lower the amount of damage the actual clothing takes and let bullets sail through. Shot to chest should instantly incapacitate and kill within seconds with high calibre and speed. Lower calibre and speed should give you a few seconds to crawl around while bleeding to death internally which will make higher calibre weapons important, but not as important as placement. Only kevlar clothing and plate vests should have noticeable effect on bullets, also bags with hard stuff in them. Maybe tougher clothing like leather can affect it a bit too. As a player progression thing, getting shot for the first time anywhere could cause you to go into shock. If you live to tell the tale you might be less likely to go into shock.
  17. Tool belt item, hmmm that's be pretty cool. But they'd also need leg holsters and fanny packs.
  18. Those gawd-damn snipers that just know they don't even need to look over your gear.

Sitting on Chairs and Laying on Beds

I want to make a camp, have a campfire a couple fold out chairs and tree stumps to sit on while a whole wild boar is roasting above the fire. An old caravan or something, small tents a bigger pointy white top party tent with all the valuables in it. A crappy barbed wire fence to keep out roaming zombies.

    Anti tank rifles

Maybe not even AS-50... a KVSK would be cooler, less spammy and more suitable.
  21. I think this is good, hopefully they also fix how fast zombies ruin clothing, it's actually ridiculous. Found a pristine leather jacket yesterday and I was very chuffed with myself. One military zombie punches me once and ruins a leather jacket, that shit's crazy. Not to mention he ruined a can of beans somehow. But I'm going a bit offtopic, bullets I think should yes destroy items in the correct area and damage them accordingly, e.g a can of beans might be badly damaged, get opened for you but only contain 20% food. Getting hit in the backpack should only damage items and cause a bit of shock if it hits the bag profile, or if the items in your bag a very solid like guns, metal and hardcover books.

    SOLVE Prone in Grass Please..

I've been seeing a lot of stuff about the renderer being changed, hopefully this allows a great amount of optimisation that BI games don't usually see.

    BRM-1K

I would like all the vehicles to be completely empty of fuel and ammo all of the time. Because the way I see it, armour shows up and decimates hundreds of zombies. Eventually it runs completely out of ammo and has to attempt to run zombies down and flee. Eventually the gas runs out too and with the very noisy engine the zombies quickly show up, and have a good go at it before the soldiers realise no help and food at all is available and have to get out and run. If possible I would like a APC to be a super rare spawn, with heaps of zombies around. The ground around the APC would be viscous mud where a horde of zombies swarmed around for hours. The sides of the APC should be coated thick with the blood of zombies. Tens of metres in all directions from the APC should be the bones of the operators picked dry. Inside the APC should be one or two AKS-74U carbines which I think are used by armoured folks when they have to infantry. One gun and operator corpse should be unaccounted for suggesting he managed to escape, maybe he held off while the other two tried to escape and snuck out at night.

    SOLVE Prone in Grass Please..

How about the player sinks into the grass, which I believe already happens. But also the player profile can appear broken up as it would by taller grass like a player but with transparent lines running through him. This profile break will make the shape of a person much harder to identify. If they're not low to the ground this wouldn't happen at all, and if they're not in foliage this wouldn't happen either. This makes those lying down or crouching in forest or tall grass harder to see, and those running along a road easy to see by comparison. This breaks two things eyes use to see both contrast and profile. Shape of a person less identifiable and transparent lines make them blend perfectly with the ground terrain making them less contrasting to the terrain.
  25. I think how the combat knife fits into combat boots, and fishing hook fits into boonie hat could be done similarly with maps, pens, paper and other tiny items. Maps and paper could fit into a hidden slot for all pants, which simulates it only taking a paper thin width of your pocket leaving room for whatever else. Similarly pens could just clip to the pocket on your shirt, or into you pants pocket. If you decide to have about 5 pens and 4 bits of paper stuffed into your pants maybe it could just grey out an inventory space eventually.
