Maybe smaller rounds, big rounds will leave a exit wound much larger than the calibre won't they?
-
They're long, solid and still form a point when not perfectly sharpened. A lot of swords are left blunt so the user can grab the blade as a more effective lever and blocking weapon. They're long too, so as long as there is a bit of weight to them they are deadly weapons, the longer the weapon the faster the end point moves.

Wasn't this made just on the turn of the 20th century more than 100 years ago? Why not something more common and local to the area DayZ is set?

I like it, it should be very scarce on loot though because I think it would be the first place hit in a apocalypse situation. Just like supermarket. Most people would leave things that you might be able to use longterm, like bullet reloading equipment, scales, powder, primers. Boxes of ammo they don't need e.g good place to find normally rarer ammo types. Occasional gun, often in bad condition shotgun, bolt action or small bore and occasional pistol. Knives, compasses, clothing, fishing rods and other outdoor/ survival equipment should also spawn there. Being a hunting, fishing & outdoors shop.

Polaroid cameras, leave photo with note. Would make for awesome and creative situations. Possibly have rare and quickly expendable things for ink to limit server strain with lots of images lying around. Or little bits of polaroid camera paper that would be rare.

If you want to set up bounties that would actually be pretty cool. You would probably have to find a whitelisted community though and rampant KoS isn't as common in there.

Hm, I guess so. Not too sure how the IV kits work or would connect exactly are they designed to do this? I suppose usually they just go in the bag, and then into the other guys body so nothing would be wrong with body to body?

It worked in some respects but not really effective enough to add, and many people dispute it discourages a choice of play unrealistically. A name system, with face/ name hiding balaclavas in a small community of players would be good. When somebody dies they could then be allowed to choose a new name and s chance to change their play style. People would remember somebody that had killed them before, if they were successful enough in being seen before they kill they'd have a name for themselves. But some people like to switch up the way they play with new characters. Some people may still have good/ bad. And if it's hard to see a person, then seeing their name would be almost impossible. You would have to see their face well and clear before a translucent name popped up.

Yes! I believe iron sights should be zeroed as soon as you grab the gun or at least very close. But scopes should require adjusting, even if it was on the same gun firing it a lot or taking on and off may have moved it slightly. And no scope you randomly pick will be zeroed to your rifle. This is a good feature, that makes long range kills harder and more realistic.

I think it will help for player value if your face gets wiped when you die. That way, people will make characters, have a backstory and everything thus when they have done this they won't go, ooooh I spawned here! Time to jump off a cliff.

I'm with you, I love the gameplay style I get out of an SKS with a PU, but I believe such modifications should require you to have a bit of stuff. When we see base building added, I would like to see something like a work bench for modifying guns, installing mounts and rails for different scopes. Reloading bullets with empty cases you would probably grab after a gunfight. Because I think ammo should be precious, making reloading a necessary routine for a trigger happy fellow. Someone that wants an LMG might be working off the same 200 rounds, and primers and powder should be common in Chernarus gun stores since most people cruising in for a raid early on would just grab all the rounds and leave the reloading equipment.

I would like some extra gore and extra bleeding. Good sounds effects and other things, so I can really feel the impacts.

DayZ being able to use rope as a way of handcuffing.

Duct tape for both mouth and hands. But you could bind their hands several times for a more reliable hold. -
I agree, visible injuries would be sweet. Maybe your character gets a nice set of scars you really like. Adding to more value than just loot.

This is good. But lets not forget someone might legitimately have to go in which case don't stop them being able to close the game. They should still be able to log off, but if there have been shots at and near them it should just have a warning that says they risk a greater log out time. E.g sitting down for much longer than the 30 seconds and it should keep resetting as more shots and such happen or someone gets close.

Needs to be rare. Some people don't seem to care about lore and atmosphere but I'm telling you it needs to be there for the base game (the mods can go and break the post soviet nation lore and add new western maps etc). But I while I think all sorts of guns should be in the game, too many of some guns can ruin the game. So in vanilla, when you hear the ping you get all M1 hungry. People wanna have shit easily accessible, but they forget by making it easy to get it ruins anything special that gun had.

I think horror should be when you're sitting there with a friend and you hear a supersonic crack, suddenly there is blood everywhere and your friend is missing the side of his head the bullet came back out. Or when you hear the cracking of your leg as you're running from zombies, you roll onto your back and try to hack them away from your body with a machete. Hacking into their heads and necks as they take bites from your body. If you aren't holding caps lock your character is letting out a massive scream with each bite. That is horror, a gore filled end where you are helpless. The scariest thing in a game for me has always been a horrible end, in Dead space one I was constantly anticipating a baby flying at me from nowhere and taking my last tiny bit of health.

I think we have similar pricing, but we still have access to games like L4D and stuff which I thought were banned in Australia.
-
I think they should add both rounds to be honest.7.63 ones should be a lot rarer though.

Just waiting for 7.62x54R now. This is an awesome start though, I think Chris Torchia finally got the best of all the gun scrubs trying to balance dayZ.

Should start tough, PvP and PvE big towns many zombies being a threat amongst a race for the best scraps of gear needed for long term survival. Police weaponry, strong melee weapons, food and storage before you leave town for the villages and forest. The woods should be your main source of food, animals, ponds, plants, berries etc. This should be sustainable PvE with occasional stalking and civilian weaponry firefights. Once the player has found good police/ civilian gear he is ready to blast his way through zombies and increasingly hostile players at airfields. This is how I remember the mod, the scuffle for starting gear, the relaxing Pv environmental effects in the middle. Then the grind for amazing gear, vehicles in the endgame before the eventual discovery of your camp by other players.
