No handgun can fit into your pants pocket unseen.I think maybe ankle and underarm holsters are the way to go, and have handguns in your pants sticking out.

I hate all this crazy spread of guns. They should fly straighter, with the exception of shotgun pellets.
-
Would be nice if aircraft spawned with a couple in them, you should be able to take off your bag and put the parachute on. Should be able to repack it afterwards, but you should be able to take it off quickly when you land. I imagine if anybody didn't get a parachute, it would be the pilots.

All gunshots should be louder in my opinion. A gunshot needs to ring in your ears when fired indoors. Be heard from a kilometre away Atleast. .22 being quietest non suppressed gun, but still easily audible at a couple hundred metres. This game isn't about artificial balance, but rather realism.

The assault vest is only as bullet proof as a T shirt I think.

If you had the ability to do that you would get all the barracks doors locked, and the one guy that managed to get in just slipping in and out of every server, safest hopping ever.

NTY.When I'm asleep I can get up in signs of danger. What I think would happen is you would be running through the woods and find about 10 bodies in the space of about 20 minutes. There would be no safe place. I think a log in timer too, where you are idle in game for a few seconds unless you were disconnected, this would encourage people to log in a good way from the action. Maybe increase the log out to 1 min, when my friends and I get off one of us will usually stat there on watch to make sure we both log out alive, then the third logs out too. If we do get attacked we will probably only loose the last mans gear. Kind of like a sentry that you might have when you need to get sleep. I like the way the logouts work at the moment. If anything, I would like Deans idea of logging out in a camp gives you some bonuses like you've had a meal and some sleep.

Why do .22 mags spawn exclusively in military loot pools
AP_Norris replied to TheScruffyBandit's topic in Suggestions
Even so, the mags should be more common. -
Arma 3 just does gun combat right. The recoil is right, the stances add so much, the AI is actively trying to flank you. The only other thing they could really add is blind firing. I'm getting the urge to play Arma 3 rite now.
-
It doesn't need to be exactly the same, but it doesn't take any training to shoot a gun sitting down, or halfway between crouched and standing. And what would be wrong with survivors having slightly militarised stances anyway. I'd be far more worried that the character can sprint around with a full hiking backpack on, as well as full Assault vests, with a gun and axe.

I don't now, if they will change the ammo. they would have to introduce a new type of ammo, and we already have the 45, 5.56, 7.62, 0.357, SKS-thingy-ammo, 10/22. With the AKM and the SVD there will come 2 more types, I think AKM will use the same 7.62x39 that the SKS uses, no idea what the SVD uses IRL, hopefully they use the real ammo though. I think it would also be nice to get the Mosin ammo actually be 7.62x54R. -
Yes this is too much detail to the health system, we may as well add stubbed toes, scratches, pimples and ingrown toenails. All types of food should be available though.

http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg/de/mauser-c-96-e.html "C-96 also had beeen widely exported - in the 1920s Soviet Russia purchased large quantities of the short-barreled (99 mm barrels) C-96s in 7.63mm, givint the name "Bolo-mauser" (from Bolsheviks' Mauser) to all short-barreled C-96s." Not my typos, not gonna fix them. But as you can see Soviets had purchased LARGE QUANTITIES of the 7.63 C96.

You could just give it that atmosphere. In Red Dead I was actually scared of the town... Can't remember the name but it had a mansion , but just because when you first go in the town bar a glass bottle falls over. I was so sure there was going to be a ghostly figure somewhere I was scared to return. For green mountain you can have the creaking of the antenna in the wind, it could occasionally sound like a voice?!? You could have more bodies, strange zombie behaviour like there is something special about green mountain. You could have a few horror style rooms, a really crude mask spawn in a pile of blood? When nobody is there a light could turn on in an un enterable part of the antenna, sparking all kinds of stories. Radio signals too, there should be pre recordings of survivors reporting strange happenings and asking for help on loop all part of a bigger story maybe. Maybe the odd zombie could get a random command to trek off in a direct line for green mountain. There should never be anything 100% provably strange like a ghost AI or anything. Just strange scary stuff, not too OTT.

Very overkill unless you just had the floor underneath it covered in petrol and it just lights it or something, because then you might need them in the burn for a few seconds. ...what has this game done to me?

I wanna see anything you could rig up in real life easily. So yes, put ammo into some embers and get to about 15m and down to reduce shrapnel damage to a level it won't hurt you too much if you are even hit. Each bullet should throw off 1-3 bits of stuff that could do as much damage as a hammer under 5m. Catch a group around a fire off guard and you could actually have a very scary (not extremely lethal distraction), a piece of shrapnel to the head might knock you out, and they might cause bleeding. Could be a very good way to scare someone if you have some loose rounds and no gun. I was thinking about 5.56 rounds BTW. 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R should be even crazier. More rounds = better effect.

True soviet knows it is not the amount or size of the bullets, but how many people he can get to surrender with just his bayonet. -

True soviets scrap metal gun will still be more reliable than plastic M4 -
Agreed, picking up a gun IRL doesn't instantly make you familiar with its bullet trajectory.Go and practise in the woods or against some zombies, ammo isn't too hard to find atm.

True Soviet will make do with what gun he is given. But knows to scrap shitty plastic parts for first rotting piece of wood he can find, for he shall be able to rely on it more than piece of plastic.
