Maybe, the player shouldn't be trapped against you though. Edit: ins't there also something where if you shoot someone while they're doing that they will tense their hand even if they're shot dead instantly?

I noticed yesterday while playing Arma 3 that the PDW I used moved the fire selector as I changed fire modes. I thought it was very nice, but I think a little bit of HUD or even something visible on the rifle in your inventory would do nicely. Personally I hope they include all the modes with exactly what it says on the selector. So for example someone that knows nothing about guns might have it on safe as they pull a gun on someone.

Hm, I would like gore a lot tbh. I think when I hit a zombie in the leg with a fire axe it should go into the leg, come back out and blood should go everywhere. I think a good chop in the neck should have his head come off and blood everywhere. These are DayZ zombies though, so they will most likely die within seconds of arms coming off. One thing they can do is allow it as a optional DLC rated at R18, that way a server could enable it. If you don't have it you're kicked off, if you do have it on a server that doesn't allow gore then it just disables. I think Rome 2 does this gore DLC.

Thermal is pretty much the sniper deluxe scope of choice.We don't have any ghillie suits, therefore we need no anti camping stuff.

Where I live there is usually a long gun rack behind the counter, usually with just shotguns and rifles. I would imagine in the events of a zombie apocalypse most of the guns would be taken from these places, but I think it should be an alright place to find pistol mags, loose ammo and boxes. They should also have a few gun attachments there, but I think any more than 1/2 guns there is too many.

I want a sort of shopping centre mixed with this.There could be some permanent shops, eateries and also market stalls. Permanent shops could include hunting and fishing stores, maybe a bookshop? Stalls could be a real mix food, junk, pirated movies. I think it would be an interesting place, stick it somewhere central like Stary Sobor or maybe in one of the new towns. Make a couple markets, but make them relatively unique to those 2/3 places with different shops and a few shops appearing elsewhere but still on the very light side. We don't need them to be stuck all over the place like police stations. Edit: also farm supply stores, for all the farmland there ain't a single place for a farmer to drive so they can get a couple bags of fertiliser or some seeds.

Bullets need to be made rarer, to make a choice between a crossbow and a rifle very difficult. Most crossbows usually allow you to take the arms off though, however if we see crossbows slipping into bags I would really want guns to as well. Once some sort of weight and fatigue system comes along I'm happy for the player having far greater flexibility on where he can put things. -
Vehicles I think will somehow be kinda different from how we know them in the mod, I don't know. But with all the big changes already and vehicles being left until even later I expect big changes from Arma 2 vehicles. Hitting someone with a car I think should ruin your windscreen though, and that's another reason why third person ruins the balance. Cracked windscreen means nothing when you can just go into third person.

Three things I want to do with boats, have a good variation of size. Barges, tugs, and big fishing boats would be awesome. I want to be able to walk and move around on deck while the boat is moving. I want a good amount of customisation, I want to be able to customise my boat into a full on assault platform. Basically what I want is to be able to live like a pirate with my friends.

Grass gets flattened by prone people.Blood trails. Bits of clothing. Bullet casings. All would be good.

Why more snipers when we don't even have SMG's yet. Shotguns are far more common than snipers too, next sniperish rifle I'd like to see would be proper civilian hunting rifle. We got the SVD on the way, possibly MP5 as well as AKM and P38.

Maybe after a smoke you would be slightly less affected by suppression. I don't know. I think it should definitely have long term negative effects though, such as reduced fitness. Some people clearly quite like smoking, and I think apart from the smell and the fact it turns tour organs to shit it always looked kind of cool. Whenever I see a young person smoke though I only think of them as a douche bag hipster, older folks I can kind of understand. If we get cigarettes I also want cigars, for real class.

I think what we need is more lighting options and lights that don't clip buildings. Also. We need to be able to hold a light in one hand and still be able to fight. We need to be able to tape flashlights to our guns. We need to be able to tape flashlights to our heads. We need to be able to tie gas lamps to our bags. The light needs to light a greater area and reflect off surfaces indoors especially. Headlights that actually point towards where you are looking and not towards where your 3rd person models head is. Red military flashlights. Roadflares. Chemlights. Floodlights. Not many would go into the light without the right sort of stuff, and I feel the unpopularity of night is because of just this. Sure you spawn with a light, but it gives you away and you are far more likely to be seen by somebody using gamma cheats instead of their light. Remove the option to change your gamma while in a server, let eyes adjust to low light levels slightly, give us better lighting options and torch mechanics. Also L to switch off light in your hand quickly (like the mod), maybe same for headlights. Servers that will change between night and day within a couple of hours, and also servers that will seem to change their time very slightly day by day (so one day at 7pm it might be pitch black, but by the end of the week when you get on at 7pm it will be early morning). I think the night is an atmosphere DayZ really needs to work on and opting out of night should be difficult. Zombies should have poor vision, but should be able to spot lights from further away and they are better at detecting noise with less of the sounds of nature. Lights I think should be absolutely necessary when fighting zombies, there would be too many to keep track of in the dark once one makes a sound at you presence. The idea of looting at night should be to sneak in without worrying too much about your profile, but more about how much noise you're making.

I like, should hang on the belt maybe to the front so it's useful and not stealing room for other holsters.

Little hand swipe when picking up and hand movement around pockets (padding self down) and stuff when in inventory would be nice. Would like things like doors to have a scroll wheel function, so you can open them slowly and clear room in parts.

multiple suggestions on the handling of ammunition/mags/speedloaders

I think reloads should have more to do with where your ammo is. If you have it in your pants pockets, hoodie pockets, or assault vest it should much faster than reloading from your bag, with assault & tactical vests being the fastest reloads. With this pressing R should take the most full mag from your Assault vest, once that is empty you use you hoodie, and then you use your pants. Having loose ammo should still require an inventory mode I think however. The Mosin and SKS should be given clips that we can press R to reload with, this would mean changing loose SKS rounds to one by one animation. Maybe there could be specail items that act like speed loaders while still using round by round loading, such as stock bandoliers, or chest banoliers. I would also like with guns like the M4 to chamber a round, then put a mag in for the +1 bullet. Draging more ammo into an internal mag gun should let us chamber a few more to get it full (no emptying then reloading). Properly fuctioning dual mags are a must in my opinion (could be done on opposite ends with duct tape, slightly longer mag switch time than proper ones). That's all I can think of, sorry for only skim reading your post too.
