There should be a slider that goes, days, months, then years after outbreak. The main loot that gets harder to find with time is weapons and food followed by meds. However you may come across houses that hint at survivor activity ad encampment before the time of the game which would have a small stockpile of such things. This would mean between finding food and ammo you would have to be very sparing to stay alive for any amount of time.

They may have spoken about possibly generating electricity in a base. With the idea of the base building update they mentioned would be coming out around a year after release. However this would probably mean petrol generators, homemade wind turbines with very rare copper and magnet current generators.

I was thinking the cheapest way to make a rigged shot shell. Either something spring loaded in a strong suitably sized pipe. Or something that can be triggered and send a charge, like a battery powered motion detector linked right into the side of a shotshell. Put something tough over the back and activate with caution.

Before the infection managed to spreads to us we instinctively moved out to sea thinking the fish and possibility of a clean tropical island appealed more than any other. However after months of rough seas and eventually a rouge wave destroying my ship. I woke upon a beach, a long road stretched across as far as the render distance could see. After deciding that a 50/50 chance of salvation on this god forsaken rock I took gut feeling heading right along the coastline. A small city appeared in the distance engulfed in plumes of smoke and fire. Atop the hotel a sniper already had me in his scope pow, a limbshatteringcrack erupted from my headset and a you are dead screen jumped at my face in disbelief. Damn you Churno bandits! Y u do dis?

It always annoyed me with real time as all the hive servers were pitch dark when I could actually play.I'm sure I'd get pissed off with snow after a while. I feel two week intervals( IRL time of weeks ) would be a good amount of time to keep the game environment changing and not getting boring. It would also represent real life as seasons pass and nothing much happens.

Yep I agree nobody takes more than a couple 9mm shots to the chest.Shoulders and gut they don't have the power to cause significant damage. But to major organs they should do good damage.

They would, that's the funny part.It would be that guy chasing after you trying to pull you down with him. It's like axe murder in big towns only funnier when you get somebody. And I must've misread that part about Arma 3 granades srry. I guess that's one thing we can agree on if you don't like my spoon and pin mechanics. Relatively positive firebacks sofar tho.

Over complicate? Arma 2 grandes better than Arma 3?Arma 2 granades and tin cans and everything are impossible to throw on any sort of trajectory atleast on Arma 3 you can get a granade in a building or know the distance you can hoof it. I will have to disagree and say granades are oversimplified, as I said before dayZ is not an arcade game and shouldn't skip out on things that help the cause of realism.

Grenades are far too oversimplified.The current way they work in DayZ does not represent their versatility in warfare at all...

^I don't see why MP5 and bison should do more base damage than any other 9mm pistol, it should get its bonuses in range, accuracy, fire rate and controll. If they wanna buff the 9mm damage I'm all for it though. I would really like them to just base the weapons off reality in DayZ.

Without adding to much to the game!!!!!!1!!!!11!!!!Do you not understand how grenades work? They are weapons for indirect warfare, If you can't toss one into a room accurately, or even throw one on the move there is something wrong with the workings of the game. You may be instructed to throw a granade by pulling the pin, holding tightly to the spoon and toss away from yourself. But in actual urban warfare like we see in dayZ they are cooked and used for room breaching. They are weapons for the crafty to hunt the crafty. You might say blood medical equipment doesn't add a lot to the game. But then what are you left with? Arcadey auto heal? I don't hint so, not in my DayZ, not in this lifetime buddy.

There should also be a small chance of a chocolate bar randomly appearing in the players pants loot. But when you try and loot it the option disappears!
