    I love this idea! Not only does it make your character more unique it gives the idiots killing unarmed people on the coast an idea of what they actually have. I say hoodie and jean pockets should stick out a bit aswell.

    Base Building - Do's and Don'ts (DayZ Standalone)

    I disagree, when your building your base its like oops that's in the wrong place. Take one thing down, might take a couple of minutes (no biggy especially in DayZ, just grab some food) and its not like your gonna be sticking 50 things down every day. But when your trying to rob someone of their base it might take a couple hours of just taking things down, let alone transport and moving and packing cars with loot. It might take six odd hours to actually get the stuff you want from a base. And if somebody pops up in that time, sees a strangers Ural and goes on the sneaky you would have no way of knowing he's watching you and now your packing up the last of his base ready for him to quickly grab back and move elsewhere with your Ural.

    I was thinking of an idea to punish dedicated bandits or just people that are generally dicks in the world of DayZ. If you could put bountys on people's heads, leave the bounty on a few pin boards somewhere and players could accept the mission and it could relate somehow to the tracking idea Rocket was thinking of. Your tracking senses could be more tuned towards a player when you accept a bounty to find and kill or bring back. I'm not sure if it necessarily needs actual support from the in game features rather than something players could cover themselves with normal features. But it could create a new league of DayZ players rather than survivors, bandits and heroes. They would be bounty hunters maybe they don't run with a group and from what they loose in that area they gain from in favours granted from successful hunts by the employer. Sorry for any vagueness or bad grammar it's just a small idea of mine that I've just thought of, constructive feedback would be most appreciated.

    I'm pretty sure there's a thing that if you're suppressed by a bullet which Arma actually has a thing for it still counts.If they are that off they're probably not much to worry about. I've only ever been betrayed TBH, whenever somebody starts shooting at me they generally hit first time or before I can turn and shoot back. I've had my bandit streaks on servers with friends, but I prefer the rush and paranoid feeling of not knowing whether I can trust the guy, well... not really I just like the friendly feeling. Usually everybody pulls up and as they were getting out of their cars I shot em through the doors with my CZ. Oh wonderous CZ, I hope ye return in the SA.

    New Zealand! The only place you'll find guns is on farms. Not even the police have guns.

When you lye dead leaving the NW airfield barracks, instead of going right to a you are dead screen you get a few pre recorded flashbacks triggered at random moments in your life sometimes when your with a lot of players or shooting somebody or reaching and looking at a significant landmark or place or randomly generated ones dependant on your preselected specialty. I think it would be cooler than a glitchy looking leader board and a swim in water followed by you are dead. I know little about programming so don't get angry if its near impossible :)

    Rocket says he don't like random events. But If they're server wide and not client spawned then I see no harm in them. Roaming hoards, crashed supply trucks, crashed helicopters, vehicles randomly spawn alongside the roads with eaten up survivors with a toolkit and tire next to him. Things that anybody in the server would come across the same thing when they walk there. You see it, you see the story and you feel the horrors of the apocalypse, when something goes wrong and zombies show up :( u in a heap of trouble sort of looking places.

    Self defence? When I walk into a room with somebody in it I back out and say friendly.Whenever somebody walks into a room with me in it they go OMG free loot! Pew pew pew I saw a vid the other day bandits running after guy that he shot, shot guy says he's a new spawn and bandit says sorry, runs up to bandage and shoots the guy instead of bandaging him. In that case he should be punished for trying to make up for his crap aim with bad promises. Sniper bandits probably won't be as numerous in the SA because there is no military grade snipers and two it takes much longer to end up with that stuff. Not all bandits would be punished, just the bad ones that prefer to evoke trust or say friendly before killing somebody. People that want to avoid being named would wear something over their face clearly identifying themselves as untrustworthy, maybe you would tie him up and remove mask to reveal his name. There isn't really a way of punishing the type of bandits you describe without a sort of insanity system.

    Police Stations and Non-Lethal Weapons

    Can we clear the zombies out and make a base?Patch up any holes in the fence? Station snipers in the towers? I also wanna say that if we have tear gas we should also have gas masks. People in the gas should have coughing fits and have incredibly bad weapon control if they can actually manage to pick a target thought the smoke and dark tunnel vision. Breach and clear would be cool with like tear gas and 12g rubber slugs. Then drag bodies outside and tie them up. A system where people can't log until they're out of their restraints would be good, that way you can still visualise who is trying to get away same as who is trying to run off, only loggers would have to wait the 30 seconds :D

    The game already punishes bandits by giving them a tell tale skin that he kills people, as well as having slower running speeds.I vote to remove those, and put in a more realistic system where if somebody wants to be a hero that's up to them and not just for a skin and faster running. But just like IRL people should get word of the bandits so they know who to trust. I'm not talking pop up on the screen, I'm was thinking you see a name tag when they're close unless they have something over their face. I'm not in it just for the sake of punishing bandits, I would prefer that there still be Bandits and even Complete assholes, but the community has a way of recognising them by permanent name which shows up when you get close to them. Like in fallout when you go up close to talk to somebody it will say their name, I get these ideas from another thread which also mentions the idea of hiding your identity with a face wrap, which might mean you know the players who you should really be avoiding, but not unless they're too close. In this fashion the only people who are punished are the sloppy and backstabbing bandits/ the ones that got close enough for you to see their name. If they're going to take the easy way and just shoot all threats dead rather than confronting... They definitely deserve a bit of balance which in my defence is also rather realistic. Re-meeting players you know from positive interactions and have them identifiable would be great aswell.

    You wouldn't, and its targeted at dicks.People that use cheap tricks, people that get their fun out of ruining the game for other players. And why do people hate any suggestion that might affect bandits, if you ask me your all bandits :/
  22. I like the idea of permanent names because it means other players can be kept track of, I can learn who to trust if I continuously meet the same people. It also means that youtubers and devs alike can hide their identity by wearing these masks. Players should still, IMO be able to customise their appearance though. I like the idea of seeing a familiar player that I don't neccesarily have any outside contact with. Then having some idle chat, maybe he's on the trail of a major bandit round up a bit of a posse and make that SOB pay for campfire story crimes of the DayZ.
