how many primary guns can you carry
BadassPreacher replied to aBBbullet's topic in General Discussion
Well, if you count the sawed-off shotgun as a primary, then three... it can fit inside most backpacks (10 slots). -

Rope + Burlap sack = 12 slot (?) one + Wooden sticks = 20 slot one -
Warning on creating improvised backpack from courier bag
BadassPreacher replied to Wernsley (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The improvised backpack is my new favorite. Although it only has 20 slots and is harder to find/put together than a normal one, it's worth it just because of the way it looks :) -
Get off the coast and head inland. Plenty of small towns there that no-one really goes to. Or if your server has been wiped absolutely clean, to the point where you die of starvation etc, find one that has frequent restarts.

Slightly off topic, but was the canteen always 4 drinks (25% increments)? I could have swore it was 5 (20% increments)... but I can't trust my brain anymore :D

And furthermore, they don't even accept beans as payment :(

In case no one noticed, the developers silently increased zombie numbers in last patch.
BadassPreacher replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
Going to test the numbers after each update from now on... Just going to fire my sawed-off in the middle of a city, and see how many noise complaints I get :) Yesterday I got taken by surprise when I went a water pump in the middle of nowhere, and 4 zombies came running out of the woods :D -
I think my second life, I picked up some badly damaged boots and after a while started getting "my feet hurt" messages (or something along those lines). I did a lot of running in rough terrain during that. But I can't be sure if my memory serves me right, since it was weeks ago... But as far as shoe model goes, there's absolutely no difference besides aesthetics.

So the kits are useless at the moment? Would explain why they are bloody everywhere...
-
I have an extra compensator for you, all I want in return is your life...
-
I always thought that when you reach the status' and you have less than full blood, you get the "healing" message. And when you regen up to full blood, it turns into the "healthy" message? At least that's from my own experiences.

zombie behaviour questions from a new player
BadassPreacher replied to helixA2's topic in New Player Discussion
Zombies in general are not very smart, despite the fact that they have discovered a way to phase through walls... 1. No idea. Seems pretty random, sometimes I can be right net to zombie or sprint next to it with no aggro. Sometimes they will find me in the tree line 200m away... So better safe than sorry. 2. They seem to get upset when you make sounds (gunfire, eating, etc). Yesterday I tested my newly found sawed-off on a zombie in Zeleno, and had about 6-7 of his undead friends aggro me :D. In the future, I would like to see proximity chat alert zombies as well. 3. Definitely. It's axe or nothing for me, unless bleeding is one of your favorite post apocalyptic pastimes. (fire axe 1-hit kill, splitting axe 2-hit kill/1-headshot kill) 4. You could/can probably loot the zombies at some point, for small house hold items like soda cans etc. 5. In my experience when they have aggroed me, they follow me until I get them stuck/glitched in a building or get enough distance between us. Line of sight doesn't seem to be an issue. 6. I'm inclined to say, yes. Crawling has allowed me to go past zombies that are close by, more reliably than just walking past them. 7. Your character can get sick from zombie attacks. But if you don't have a "sick" status, and you character is still moaning a lot and revealing your position every two minutes... A little morphine will cure that right up! Morphine makes the apocalypse a much smoother experience :D I don't claim that these are facts, but my personal experiences in this game. Good luck and have fun! -
Found three compensators but not a single scope... :D All the comps I found were in the red brick building (bar/pub thingy).

The only character I ever had, that wasn't healthy, was my first one (who died of thirst and hunger by the way :D ). After that I did some research and found Merino's medical guidelines, and my characters have been healthy ever since :). Usually takes me about 2-3 hours from spawn to get my character the "healthy" status with my slow play style. My friends were having trouble with it as well. They just weren't eating often enough to get that "energy" level up, so I started to remind them every now and then. Even though it takes a bit of time to sit down and eat some beans, it's well worth it.

How do I level up my berry picking?
-
Opinions... everyone has them. Personally I have absolutely no regrets about buying the game so far, and can safely say the same about some friends. But I got to admit, sometimes I've wondered how the game game would look and feel on a different engine. But yeah, all in all a pretty useless "review" of an alpha title, which already clearly states that you should not buy the game on the sales page...

I'll gladly leave my Mosin alone, but next update I'd like to paint my axe.
-
I encountered my first hacker yesterday, and according to Steam I have 70 hours logged in. So it's not that bad... Although I can't be 100% sure, I thought 10+ consecutive Mosin shots without reloading was kinda suspicious, plus my friends saw him teleporting. Sadly there are no names/report system.

i'm not sure if my computer can run dayz (Standalone)
BadassPreacher replied to sarl98's topic in General Discussion
I'm running it on i5-480m, GT 540m, 8g RAM and Win7. Although I've had to make some compromises with graphics, I'm very much enjoying the game. -
If the audio glitches went away and I wouldn't have to worry about an item glitching out when I drop it, I would be extremely happy :) A functional suppressor for my pistol would be a welcomed bonus as well.

Favourite Clothing/Camo?
BadassPreacher replied to samwalker1995@live.co.uk's topic in General Discussion
Yes I know, but I'm not looking to be all camo'ed up like everyone else :). Starting off without any clothes and trying to find black cargo pants, etc, gives me more of a challenge to get geared up. Instead of running up north and picking up everything I find along the way. Here's my current guy: Having a distinct look also makes it easier for my teammates to recognize me :D -
Favourite Clothing/Camo?
BadassPreacher replied to samwalker1995@live.co.uk's topic in General Discussion
My new rule is: If it isn't black, I cant wear it. This makes finding suitable clothing a bit more fun and challenging :). I just wish that some of the clothes labeled "black" would actually look the part. The black tactical shirt for example, is more blue than black, so I miss out on 2 extra inventory slots by not using it over the normal black shirt. -
Logged into a looted server, didn't know the map so I spent time going through empty houses on the coast. Ended up dying from thirst and hunger... double whammy :D

Any piece of clothing you associate with bandits?
BadassPreacher replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I have a new rule: If it's not black, I can't wear it (backpacks excluded). Would you think I'm a bandit just by clothing (disregarding possible weapons)? I never KoS, always try to communicate and offer assistance to people who need it. But I do kill people if they pose a threat, and at the same time don't respond to my attempts to communicate. So I'm no saint either :D -
How to reset a character on purpose?
BadassPreacher replied to LetLiveEverything's topic in New Player Discussion
I ran off a school building roof couple days ago, when I wanted to start fresh with my friend (who ran off the roof by accident :D ). Worked like a charm.
