Hello noobs, welcome to King of kong's epic survival guide, i will share my survival tactics and hopefully help you survive chernarus. Enemies: This section will teach you how to avoid/combat enemies in Arma 2: DayZ Infected: These are the inhabitants of chernarus, they have been infected by an unknown virus which causes a hunger for humans. These lovely individuals can be killed like a normal human, so head shot's are not advised unless the infected slow down when you lure them into buildings. Being hit by an infected may cause you to bleed (Signified by spurting blood) if you bleed you will need a bandage, bandages will often be in your inventory when you spawn. Escape and evade: The infected can be avoided by crouching (X) or proning (Z) this will greatly reduce visibillity (Indicated in top right corner of your screen), if the infected detect you they will shriek and moan and become agitated,itis advised that you forget stealth if you are detected. Players: Many players will KOS in DayZ (kill on sight) so if possible you should avoid people at all times, if the opportunity presents itself you should ask if they are friendly (Only when you have a tactical advantage over them), players in scarfs or ghillie suits should be avoided at all costs. Scavenging: A scavenger should always be wary in DayZ, this section will provide tips for novice scavengers. Planing: When approaching a town, find a vantage point and watch for activity, if the infected are annoyed it often means there is a player about. When in said observaion point, plan a scavenge route, have a plan B and C, if possible have a friend provide overwatch. Vehicles: When approaching a town such as chernogorsk, leave your vehicle in a forest a good way away from said location, anyone could hear the grumble of an engine and decide to investigate. DO NOT: Run across open field's near cherno or elektro or airfield's, be wary of other players, even if they wear the hero skin that is not a confirmation that they are friendly, they may have earned it by healing their friends. King of kong recommended loadout: M14/DMR 4 rations, 2 water bottles, map, compass, watch, GPS, matches, hunting knife, 4 bandage, 4 pistol ammo, unsilenced M9, military flashlight, 2 painkillers, 2 morphine auto injecters, 2 blood bag and flares. :beans: :beans: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: Hope this helped.

Hello people, I had an idea. What if you would have to oil and clean your firearms, maybe disassemble them to check problems. If you never took care of your gun it would have a high chance of jamming, swimming may cause a gun jam due to water filling up the chamber. Rain can cause rust over time, you can find waterproof gun bags to protect your weapon in rain/water/mud.

Lower gun spawn rates not increase them, BTW when posting, have a more discriptive title, add tags so we know abit about what these ideas are, and to check for originality.

Hello, i just had a little idea for weapon upgrades, since rocet said something about weapon customization and crafting i decided i drop a few ideas. Flashlight: With a roll of tape you should be able to attach your flashlight to your gun. Spear: How about let us create a spear if we have a broom handle and a kitchen knife and duct tape?. Bayonet: Basically the same as flashlight, let us attach a knife to our gun's to be used as a melee weapon. what do you think? Another idea: pepper spray, for stunning zombies and players.

Character: Joseph mallory. Age: 25. POB: Republic of Ireland, Galway. Job: Journalist, Irish Independent. Entry#1: I've arrived in chernarus, i've been sent to document the reported "Mystery virus" which supposedly originates here. I took the Aer lingus flight from shannon, i have just arrived at the hotel where me and the camera crew are staying. In the morning we'll take a cab to the Lab in chernogorsk and begin the investigation, i'm very exited! it's my first real international job. Entry#2: Today we go to the Lab in chernogorsk and we'll meet with docter Kralovich who we will interview. We had a breakfast of sausages, white pudding and gravy today, we will get on the cab and head to the hospital soon. 4 Hours from previous entry: We found the place in chaos! o'leary was attacked by a mad man......i had to kill him.........o'leary is ok for now, we are in the Firestation, there are a few docters and police here, the doc says that o'leary has to be put into isolation, he never told us why. 6 Hours from previous entry: Everyone is on edge, the police are trying to calm them down, our translator is telling us that the police have requested support from the military, i hope they get here soon, that fence won't last forever. The military have arrived, they took Martin our camerman and a few other people, they said they would come back to pick up more people. Entry#3: It's been a day, still no sign of the soldiers, i've made up my mind, i'm gonna leave with Lev and boris, they won't let us take o'leary, myself, Boris and lev will try to go our own way, if we stay then the food will just run out, we're gonna try and make it to the airport. Entry#4: We made it out of chernogorsk, the place is madness! Boris was almost killed by some fella who was on the roof of the hospital with a rifle. we're resting in this old farmhouse for the night, our beds are just horse blankets and tarpaulins. Lev had some coke and a few granola bar's which we shared. We Found a gun in the barn, a DB shotgun, it had 6 round's, Boris handled it like an expert, not suprising, he grew up on a farm in northern russia in 1980. Entry#5: We left the barn, we stopped in a petrol station on the road and found a water bottle and a few tins of sardines, and lucky! a map, Lev said that we must be somewhere near a place called zelenogorsk. We continued on the road and Boris spotted a smoke column in the distance, it's miles away but he insists on checking it out. We stopped to rest, I am going to go with Lev and scout the area for supplies, we will be looking for farm's mostly but anything will do as long as we get something to eat. Entry#6: We found a pig and i managed to kill it with Boris's shotgun, Lev gutted it while i stood watch. We brought it back to camp, Boris was gone,the fire was still burning, we are setting off to look for him, it's gonna be dark soon. 2 Hours from previous entry: Sun is going down, we have stopped to rest. We found footprints leading into the forest opposite the field, right towards the smoke column. we've agreed to split up and look for boris, im worried now, it'll be dark soon, i still have a pile of flares though. 4 Hours from last entry: I've stopped in this cabin, i cannot find Lev or boris, i've lost sight of the smoke column. 2 Hours from previous entry: Lev just found me, i nearly killed him, he had boris. Boris was black eyed, bleeding heavily, his backpack with our map, and what was left of the food was gone. We got a fire going, i'm gonna find him something to eat, then we'll find out what happened to him. Entry#7: Boris died in the night, i swear Lev is losing it, whenever i go near him he get's all aggresive. i'm gonna see how he is tomorrow Earlier today we got in an argument over a fecking nature valley granola bar we need food..... Entry#8: We are nearing the airport, Lev has cheered up considerably. in a few hours we might just be back in ireland. Entry#9: We have reached the airfield, no planes, no survivors, nothing. Lev collapsed and covered his face with his hands, he is clearly frustrated. We are going to try and make it to the border, Lev want's to go back to cherno to see what happened to the survivors in the firestation, we need food so i might aswell go with him. I'm going to make a list of supplies that we should look for. 4x Bandages. 2x Painkiller Canned food for a 8 day's. 6X Antibiotics. Weapon (If possible) Box of Twelve gauge shotgun rounds. Matches. Flares. Flashlight. Backpack. Entry#10: We have reached cherno. The crazies are still roaming the streets, the firestation is our third stop, we need to find supplies first. 20 Minutes from last entry: We are at the firestation, everyone is dead, poor bastards never had any chance. I found a gun on one of the bodies, an AK-47 assault rifle which i had seen far too many times when i was in Africa. Suddenly, Lev spotted something crawling through the pile of decomposing bodies, a youngish man with a blood caked face, he had numerous bullet wounds in his leg, Lev brought up his AK, i hastily stopped him and approached the infected man, i realised it was o'leary, he must have been infected with whatever was making people try to eat each other, i asked Lev for his pistol.... Day 11: It's been over a week, no signof military aid, nothing, no survivors. We will continue towards the border. 4 HOURS FROM PREVIOUS ENTRY: Lev is dead, he killed-himself, i found him hanging from a tree, he said he was just taking a leak.....Same plan, get to the border. Day 12: I've been moving for awhile now, i'm gonna make a list of what supplies are left. 2x can of sardines. 2x water bottles. 4x antibiotics. 2x Flares. 6x makarov rounds. 3X AK-47 MAG 6 Shotgun shell's. 2x petrol can. 6x matches left. I saw a barn in the distance, look's like there is somebody in there. (Approaches barn, numerous figures are in the barn, a few have english accents, there is a woman and boy kneeling before the men, they spot me, beat me up, leave me by the ditch, i see a man crawling out, i fall unconcious). (I awake. It is dark my backpack is gone, as is my gun. I can hardly move, the barn is on fire, i see figures in the distance, moving in an unhuman fashion, i try to stand, my water bottle sloshes, i can feel the box of matches in my pocket, at least they left me with something. The figures in the distance are getting close, i can hear them shrieking, i get up and run into the darkness) Entry#13: I've managed to make a fire, i am freezing out here, i have no food. I wonder who those people were?. I remember spotting a man crawling from the barn shortly before i passed out, i want to find him.

Hallo all, i had an idea for shipwrecks in the DayZ: SA. These could be fishing vessles off the coast with infected crew, they would hold gear like clothing, Flare guns, kitchen with food, and wet playing cards. Military shipwrecks could hold a small armoury and kitchen. Commerical shipwrecks might have food supplies. Oil freighters might have petrol, (Possibility of leaking oil so if you fire a gun the whole place explodes)

Have you ever heard of greek fire? it was like a kind of flamethrower that actually lit water on fire. Anyway, Crude oil can be lit on fire with a spark.
