medic bloke off the forums

I don't really like this kind of betrayal in DayZ, but I have a passion for banditry and I think he's just doing what he's meant to do. Can't you read the sign? It says "Bandit Campfire". Some kinds of bandits are imoral and some are not, you need to understand this. I know that this kind of thing bothers you, but think well; in our world now, the real friends are only a few. Imagine how would it be in a zombie pandemy... Worse than it already is in DayZ -
Sometimes its fun not to be lethal

Uh... there would be no point to leave the gear for him, he would have shot the guy for nothing... And he shot the guy because, well, he's a bandit .-. I would be mean. I would break his legs, put a morfine not too far away from him and give him 10 seconds to reach it with the legs broken. If he didn't, then I would shoot his legs again, pick up the morphine and let the guy bleed out to death, this is cool torture -
So satisfying you came here to post it :P Must have been pretty intense. Congratulations I guess

Rarity of guns will change everything

You have to consider some other points. It is not only about players; there are zombies too. According to what I read - and I'm quite sure you read it too - the dev team is working to make the zombies become the main threat of the game. If this factor is true, then players will probably save their ammo for emergencies, times that they'll need to shoot in order to survive. Otherwise, they will have no ammo when needed, and then die. Maybe it will be a matter of time for the players to learn this. Another point to be considered is the gear destruction. If you kill players for their gear, then killing may not be the best option (in this case the best would be ally with the player, maybe he has gear to trade with you or you can group up for a while and help each other, this way you would get better gear and in a faster way). So, if you kill players for the sake of it, then you probably have a LOT of ammo, acquired over a lot of work in the game. The thing is, if you spent a lot of time in getting this huge amount of loot, you'll probably be too scared of risk losing it in a gunfight, this way you'll avoid PvP; you'll also want to save your ammo in case zombies surround you and you have to kill them. -
fill em with hope then fill em with lead

Yea, he's for sure a true good ol' bandit! Creative and mercyless. -
Of course! This definition I posted is meant to be the most horrifying, infuriating, badass son of a bitch kind of bandit ever, though. What's your definition for a bandit?

I was going to say exactly that. After all this is a Bandit Campfire and people should feel free to post the stories they want. -
So I just saw a battle royale livestream and the guy kept tapping 'W' quickly because it was his "turbo key", after like 30 seconds he was getting the same speed as a bike or a motorcycle. Wtf? Does this work in vanilla too? If it does, anyone know if it will work in SA? Because it's SO overpowered.

lol maybe i'm high but it works in the b.r. mod... '-'

I got curious about this "new nutrition system" they talked about and searched about it. The thing is, I found no good information. All I found was stuff like "oh if you eat too much chocolate and sugar you get diabetes and die" etc. So I really wanted to know if the nutrition system will be realistic or this "chocolate kills you" thing. Btw, I consider a realista nutrition system something with proteins, carbs, vitamins and stuff like that, not something like "if a player ingests 3 chocolates and 2 soda cans he gets sick". Also, real life is not exaggerated; so, if in real life I don't get to ingest vitamin A in 2 days, this doesn't mean I'll get blind. In real life, if I don't get to ingest vitamin K in 4 days, this doesn't mean I'll bleed to death. One other thing, there's no point in dying from starvation. It will obviously make you have vitamin and protein deficiencies, but a human can survive about 40 days without eating. Dying from dehydration makes sense, because a human can't stand 4 days without water... So in a realistic system (what they're trying to create I guess), you wouldn't be able to die from starvation, but get sickness and weakness from it, because you would not have enough nutrients. I know it sounds a bit confusing, so I'll get to the point: - How complex will this nutrition system be? - Will it be exaggerated? - Stupid or realistic? And, the most important question... Do you guys think it will be so realistic OR exaggerated that it will cut the fun out of the game?

Actually, I see your point very clearly. Thanks for showing me this side of the coin :) You have my beans bro

What Do You Want to see Dayz SA?
blurhitz replied to robrogamer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Zombie hordes system. Like in The Walking Dead. Freaking cool... -
I know a lot of you guys had great times with the mod, for a long time. But now the standalone is coming, so will you leave the mod after it releases? I think that after 2 or 3 months there will be almost no servers in the mod, but I was thinking in playing the mod sometimes even with the SA in my hands. I mean, I'm sure the mod brings cool gaming experiences that will be left forever ONLY in the mod, so... Won't you miss it?
-
If you use the same Steam account on both PC and notebook, then yes, you'll be able to play on the same character (;

Excited for The Standalone
blurhitz replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Dude... -
How is that even possible? I mean, the t-shirts in the Standalone gameplays have like 6 slots. And they have no pockets. And they're T-SHIRTS. You can't store guns in a t-shirt. You can't store an AK-47 in the pocket of your jeans. It's nonsense. Just... nonsense.
-
Well some friends were telling me that the Standalone is really close right now and there is a "DayZ Early Acess" page on SteamDB, but some of them also told me that it'll be only available to USA, as said in an article they read. Is that true...?
-
Don't caps lock at me bro. Caps locking hurts... But seriously, t-shirts should have no slots in the final build.
-
So I posted the thread and spent 3 days away from the forums. When I came back rocket replied and there were 64 replies. Poker face...
-
Yea sorry guys, I did not know that DayZ's developers were not american, I just played the game haha Is just that nowadays a lot of games are being released first in USA and CAN so that's why I believed in my friends... But it really makes no sense since he is from NZ (I think) When games are restricted to USA/CAN I feel very upset, because I'm not from these countries and I can't play just because of it...
-
y u do dis bro )':
-
They told me "In SteamDB it is only labelled for 'USA'"... and I searched it on google now and there are some articles saying the same thing... Well I guess no standalone for me...

Ping slowly raises along the game, gets extremely high
blurhitz posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Hey guys, first thing I wanna say is that this is not another topic complaining about high ping. It's a different issue. So, I never had ping problems with any games because my connection is great, and my PC is good too so I don't have much lag problems, but with DayZ it's different. When I join a server, it starts running normally at first, but after like 2 minutes playing, it starts to lag. So I go check my ping and its around 300ms (raised a lot, because when I join the server it is like 60ms). After 5 minutes, it is around 700ms. I can't play for 15 minutes because if I do, it gets like 3500ms. How can I prevent my ping from raising that much? Why does that happen? My PC runs ARMA II OA just fine with no lag... -

I turned the firewalls and the Avast off, but it didnt help much =/ Arma II runs fine in multiplayer too. And I don't have file sharing/internet apps... I saw one guy with 9k ping last time I tried to play, I guess he has the same problem as I do.
