Top 7 Reasons to be excited for DayZ.

I was already in the massive hype and reading this just made me want it more and more. Damn dude... No game has ever did this to me before hahaha

More games coming out like DayZ

Why does everyone think that Rust is like DayZ? It has nothing to do, and the amount of zombies it has is 10% of the amount of zombies DayZ has. You barely see zombies in Rust; and they even said they don't want zombies, they want mutants or something like that. In the end I never really got to know the point of Rust. It's like they lost theirselves somewhere between survival and crafting or something like that. It just seems to have no objective other than... build stuff
  4. I got the news today. The main problem of releasing standalone was the servers, they were too broken or something like that. So... having 100 servers good to go... does this mean SA like... now...? I also saw this video right here, there's one part of it that kinda confirms it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R40P3mTMvk4 Maybe people just said bullshit to me but who knows? PS.: This thread got duplicated somehow, moderators please delete the other one... Don't know what happened O.o EDIT: Today I saw 2 streamers confirming it... but this looks nasty

100 SA Servers are actually up?

Yea that's true .-. People are saying it will be out because, if i'm not mistaken, rocket said their main problem are the servers

    Looking for 100% vanilla

Thanks a lot guys! :) I just wanted to play some original DayZ before SA. If you guys wanted this too we could even team up to play the good ol' mod one more time before SA. With none of this bullshit people seem to like so much.
  7. The only thing that was delaying the release in the last month was the server problems. Today I received the news that they finally got over 100 servers READY for action, and the Alpher is going to be released like... sometime between now and in a while
  8. So I missed the livestream and searched for a video of the livestream and started watching. In +/- 3 min. of video zombies started attacking Rocket and I counted 13 hits. But his character seemed totally okay, the vision was not even blurry or anything. Yes he was bleeding but he quickly used a bandage and then he was 100% fine. Nothing broken, nothing black and white, only a slight bleeding that was quickly bandaged. Idk if he was in God Mode or something like that, but if he wasn't, then well, the zombies won't be the "main threat" of SA... It'll take like 50 zombie hits to be killed... And there was this overpowered (but reeeally cool) feature that you knock down zombies in 3~4 hits, then they get up again. I don't know if I'm whining, I'm just worried. Even the mod zombies seem to be stronger than these... :/ And don't get me wrong, I'm in love with this video, everything else from SA looks so fucking well done... Can't wait for the release :D EDIT: BUT, I realised that you'll need food and drink A LOT faster, so I guess this will increase the surviving aspect, right?

Will zombies be weak in Standalone?

Well if Weparo is right on the Alpher thing then I wouldn't buy it too... The first feelings I wanted to get from SA are frustration, despair and lack of hope. I know these aren't the best feelings, but you guys know what I mean haha Maybe the curiosity would make me click the "Buy It" button in a second, but... who knows?

Will zombies be weak in Standalone?

    Yeah, I hope you're right :/

    THIS SCARED ME SOO MUCH

NEVER say these words. NEVER. O.O
  12. Got it :p When then maybe that's really a reason to get pissed... But don't you think it is better to not answer than to rage? .-.

    Contact!

Survivors are more likely to be pre-bandits than pre-heroes, so I avoid them at all costs, unless I really need something. If that's the case then I threat them in order to rob them. If he obey then I will leave him alive and if he is really cool with me I try to create a friendship with the guy. Bandits I just KoS or torture. It depends on my mood. Heroes I just ignore, they won't do anything with me anyway. But if a hero needs something then I may help him... But if I have reeeeally good loot on me, that I don't want to lose anyway, I KoS any survivors or bandits in my way, and avoid heroes.
  14. Why do all of you rage so much...? Yes he is complaining about something that no one gives a shit (Not even me lol), but there's no need to put the man on the corner of the room with the "donkey" hat... Never got to know why everyone in internet has premenstrual tension every day...

    Character Models

Rocket records at a PC which runs SA on custom, low settings. I remember someone saying that he puts one config on high and the other on medium but I'm not sure. Maybe that's what you're talking about? :p
  17. Then I highly recommend you Lirik and BikeMan, they're both Twitch.tv streamers.
  18. Well this is the story of something that really happened to me last week, and I think I will never get an experience like this in any other game. It wasn't just a lesson of DayZ, but a lesson for me to take in any situation of my life. The first time I played this mod was in a friend's house. I really liked it so after some months I decided to play it too. I spawned on the coast and decided to go loot some food in the nearest town. I didn't want to be a bandit; nor a hero. I would do what ever it takes to stay alive, by killing or helping. The first thing I did when I got in the city was to look up in the grocery store, for food obviously. Then I managed to loot other parts of the city and by the time I already had a shotgun and a revolver it was already nightime. I wouldn't leave just because it was dark so I stayed inside the school. In the rooftop, I started to look around, but it was really dark and I couldn't see very well. Suddenly I saw a light inside a building, but it was too far so I couldn't see well. After a few minutes I heard shots. This was the first time I heard shots in DayZ so I got scared and tried to look around. So I saw two guys, one with a chemlight and the other seemed to be teamed up with him, they were going to the school I was in. So I went down the stairs to look for them, holding nervously my shotgun. The first man came in and I didn't shoot. The first thing he said was "friendly!" So I started to talk with him. Then his friend came up saying he saw "the bandit running". I asked them if I could team up with them and they accepted me. The man's friend went up the roof to scout for the bandit while me and the man stayed in the first floor talking. I told him this was my first time playing for real and he told me that they would help me out with stuff. After a while I heard bullets fired and the guy on the roof said that he killed the bandit, he also said "let's go check it out, he has good loot". Indeed, he should have. But I said it would be dangerous to go outside. The man told me to relax and that it would be fine, they would protect me. His plan was to loot the body and then loot the grocery store or whatever that is. Scared, I went there with them and there was no loot in the bandit. Not even a gun... someone else already looted him. I suggested to go back to the school, but the man insisted in looting the store. Only seeing things because of his chemlight, there we went. So while looting the place, I heard a shot and suddenly I was down with broken legs and bleeding, or something like that. I couldnt move or even see anything, and I was in panic because the rain of bullets that were being fired. The man and his friend shot a lot of bullets and then his friend died. He was the last man standing. When I was almost out on blood, the man killed the shooter and then tried to fix me. The thing is, the bullets attracted at least 30 zombies or more and they were already in the door, entering the store. I said "You don't have to do this, the zombies will get you. Just leave me and run man." He kept fixing me with bandages, morphine, bloodbags etc.. After a while, when I was finally okay, he said "I didn't pull his trigger, but your blood was on my hands". At first I didn't get it but then I realised he said that because he was the one who brought me to the store and by consequence, to that situation. I never blamed him for that, though. Already damaged by some bullets, the man was caught by the zombies and died. I still could live so I ran to the back door and escaped safely. Because of that day, I started killing too, to somehow avoid people on my way. It was a bloody night in Cherno. Turns out I always had this bandit friend who everyone in DayZ would call an asshole. He kills on sight, screams at people everytime and is absolutely insane. After that experience in the grocery store, the next day in real life I started playing with this bandit friend I had. With him, I learned how to be a bandit and the basics of banditry, I learned how to be mercyless and to have no remorse. He and I always killed everyone. I just wanted the gear, but he wanted to kill for the sake of it. Sometimes I even said "man, just let him go, he has nothing." And my friend said "fuck it." And bang, the newbie is dead. He also only cares about him and I always felt like he was using me. And this way we played for so many time... months. There was even one time that I fixed a helicopter but there were a lot of zombies coming, so he entered the helicopter and left me there to death. His excuse was "there was no time". He did this kind of thing repeatedly. Some say he may be more like a mean old-brother, but no, he's just... fake. So after so much banditry, our story came to the last chapter. In another night in Cherno, my friend, me and Light (a friend of ours) were scavenging for ammo. Light was always a hero so he and my friend didn't talk much, i think they didn't like each other. My friend was more like Merle and Light was more like... Rick. After looting some places, we heard shots in the distance. My bandit friend obviously made us go check it out, and so we did. It was dark, and in front of the church there was a fireplace and a random bus. We slowly entered the church to look for the shooter. Light kept telling us to go back, but me and my friend resisted and went there. I don't know exactly what I felt when I first stepped there. There was a bandit pointing a gun to some guy's head, and a dead body on the floor. "Stop right there!" I said. The bandit just said "no, get the hell out or I'll kill him." I didn't care much, I was a bandit anyway. But I wanted to give the man a chance to live, so I stayed there and threat the bandit: "I will kill you if you shoot him". So the bandit shot him and I think the bullet hit his legs. Me, Light and my friend opened fire against the man, who right before dying, said "I'll call my backup." After that he shot Light in the head and died, leaving his victim in our hands. Then my friend said "let's just kill this guy and get his loot". I think I agreed, but he said "please, don't". This was when I recognized his voice. The same guy from the first time I played, who saved me in the grocery store. That... old man strong voice. It was him. For sure, I'm 100% sure. My friend pointed the gun to his head. I said "No, leave him alone. He has nothing!" And do you know what my friend said? "Fuck it." Bang. The man was bleeding in two different places, my friend didn't hit the head I don't know why. I screamed "STOP!" And when my friend was going to pull the trigger, I quickly remembered everything he did to me and the kind of person he was. So I shot his head and went there to fix the man. I bloodbagged him and everything, and said" "I know you didn't pull the trigger. But man, the blood was never on your hand. Not here, and not in that damn grocery store. Everything is a consequence of what happens before..." I still was going to say a few more things, but in a short pause, the bandit's backup appeared and shot a thousand bullets in my back. I never got to know what happened to the man, but I'm glad I passed my message. Yes, this happened, and I just wanted to share with you guys so you can know how important it is to give survivors a second chance. Even if you are a bandit...
  19. Your answers mean a lot to me guys. Thanks! :D
  20. Thanks guys! I hope you have nice gameplays too. (:
  21. Don't throw firewood at the fire, man '-'
  22. Dude... You're the one raging right now .-.
  23. The thing is, imagine if everytime you play Standalone you see someone wearing these? It would really feel like WarZ (or Infestation, or CoD if you want). About the immersion thing, it is 100% true, I think it would break the immersion too. I mean, maybe I'm just scared because too much hype = too much fear of the game to suck. With SA, I wanted to feel that way you feel the first time you played DayZ, and I'm afraid that with all these crazy aspects (look at the underwear and the mask at the picture), I won't. Yes, probably the survive thing and all I would feel, but... Idk, I think that something about the mask tells me that the game will have a lot of non-sense stuff.

Can we start a payback for Dean?

I think perhaps the best way to reward rocket wouldn't be money... Philosophy values. Maybe he would feel more rewarded with good critics and reviews than with money. For some people, money is just... money. With so many people complaining about the release date and such, I'm sure he would be really glad to hear something like "The wait was worth it". But I totally understand what you mean

Will dayz sa succeed or fail

    In some countries it's inverse. 2,000 = Two thousand 2.000 = Two. ;)
