Here's an idea: Melee for PVP only. Include a context command for the combat/hunting knife that allows you to silently stab other players, but not zombies.

Let me make it perfectly clear to you carebear numbskulls: Freedom is what makes this mod great. Your pitiful whining would HURT THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE GAME if taken into consideration. Think it's too hard to stay alive or get something meaningful done? GOOD! It's the motherfucking APOCALYPSE, people!

I'll just stick to what I've been doing when I can play again: Kill everyone, everywhere.

The entire popularity of this mod hinges on its portrayal of realistic scenarios. You're not helping by compromising that.

I'm a bandit because I've been killed too many times. I simply refuse to lie down and die peacefully, and if that means I happen to take out an innocent here and there so be it. I don't like it, but life's lemonade is bittersweet.

I just creamed myself. Also, I've logged 70 hours in six days. The emotion is what keeps me here. I've nearly cried at times after defeating seemingly overwhelming odds. Such relief has never been felt in a game before. The story of this game surpasses even the Mass Effect series, and the kicker is that there IS NO STORY!

What about something similar to WoW, where there are large servers that hold a good deal of people but are not connected to each other? This would eliminate server hopping and a few other illegitimate activities (day-chasing). I honestly think that for an alpha this game could legitimately be called 80% finished content-wise, unless you add dynamic events or special zombies. I'm sure you have much more in store for this game than I would believe, though.

I say make the military guns MUCH rarer and make the likelihood of ammo spawning where the guns do MUCH smaller as well. More utility equipment at mil bases along with the decreased gun/ammo spawns. Force bandits to roam through towns or trade survivor groups if they want ammo for their m16/mp5/ak74.

Would purchase and pay monthly fee without hesitation if servers held 300+ people and map was much larger. Development-wise, everything is on you. You've brought this mod into this world, what happens to it should not be influenced in any way you don't feel would be best.

After about 60-70 hours of gameplay you'll realize it's amazingly easy to navigate and that the map is not really as large as it seems at first. Hang in there!

Are there any plans to have just a few official servers to host the game using some major hardware, so that there could be 300 slots or something? What about having those official servers use their own character database? Sort of like realms in WoW. Sorry if that's thinking too far ahead. I'd definitely donate for that, though.
