Hosting a private server from your own PC isn't an easy task. A better alternative would be to play on a server with 0 people if you want to practice by yourself if you're new to the game. I suspect you'll get bored rather quickly though.

Funfact: This DayZ story happened to me a year ago and it's still one of my most glorifying moments well worth repeating. Enjoy! My friend and I infiltrated Rog Castle earlier this morning. As we ran into the front arch way, my buddy gets shot up and killed. I went prone and discovered that the shots were coming from the main tower. I got into position and camped with my cross-hairs on the door to the main tower. Waiting for him to run out and loot my friend's dead corpse.... and... Sure enough, BAM! I killed him. Some time passes and I begin to approach the door way and spot a 2nd player on the staircase aiming down with an M4A1 CCO SD and wearing a Coyote pack. I know if I were to run in, he'd easily kill me from his vantage point. ***begin Mexican stand-off*** 15 minutes pass (him inside, me outside). I check to make sure no one's sneaking up behind me. I look back. He's gone. I assume he either moved up or down the staircase. I continue to hold my position puppy-guarding the door way. About another 5 minutes pass and I hear very quiet foot steps walking in the grass from behind me. I turn around with just enough time to shoot him as he stops and starts unloading on me. He dies. I have 7000 blood. Quickly bandaged and focused back on the doorway. Finally I had enough of waiting. I ran in. To my surprise... the tower was empty? WTF? I go back down to see what this player has (the guy who shot me down to 7000 blood from behind). NO WAY! :OOO He has an M4A1 CCO SD and Coyote pack. Coincidence? Or did he server hop, move outside, log back into my server, spawn behind me, and try to shoot me in the back? If so:

Awww.. It would've been funnier to make him uninstall. :(

Hmmm. Some sneaky monkey deleted my post from this thread I see. <_< Anyways, DayZ is always going to be a pvp fest unless zombies are made impossibly hard to encourage teamwork or they simply ban everyone that pvps.

I'm not sure how to fix the first error but the "No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow'" error is perfectly normal. Also, never use the ArmA 2 OA beta or the DayZ shortcut in Steam. If you don't know how properly launch the game using Steam, I would recommend to just launch the game using DayZcommander. If you want the benefit of the Steam overlay, there's lots of tutorials on YouTube explaining how to properly launch it using the Steam ArmA 2 OA shortcut. Basically you need to: 1) Verify DayZ code and ArmA 2 OA patch is up-to-date (using DayZcommander). 2) Copy and paste the Arma2oa.exe from the expansions folder into the root directory (confirm copy and replace). 3) Launch game ArmA 2 OA through Steam. 4) Enable the appropriate expansions. 5) Exit the game. 6) Re-launch through Steam.
