  1. Yes, I really like that!
  2. Yes it would make better camo! jeesus! what if you buy a greenish one but are in a pine forrest? or a lighter one but are in the depths of the woods? Maybe a brown one would be nice, if you weren't in a green hell! Dammit, the reason why snipers do their own is because the can use local plants and trees to blend in, something a store doesn't have, and most of the cases they don't know how it will look like at their sniping spot, and they can't have a truck filled with different ghillies suits follow them. CRAFTABLE ONLY!
  3. Full trained? DUDE, take some greenclothing, tape grass and small branches to it and done! If you can't do that, well get yourself checked! And ENOUGH with that "every survivour happens to be a fully trained sniper" hurr durr, bullshit! By the odds of it, half our survivors would be able to shoot as many people have never seen a firearm in their hands! How bout we just remove guns, because you know most people would only break their own faces, see youtube for instance :D
  4. I'd actually really like to know.... But yeah, as far as I knew, all of these features are more or less confirmed by the team.

What is the Next Big Patch?

As the two people before me said, mostly bug fixes. They 're working hard on performance too though, so maybe more zombies?? :)
  6. No good sniper I've ever heard of bought his suit in a store... It's all hand crafted

    Grenades Threat.

    nice stuff :D

    M107 in Standalone

Most guns are one shot kill anyways... wether you get a .308 or a .50 though the throat doesn't really matter :D
  9. weparo

    Rolling in mud for camouflage.

Yup, not bad, I like it!
  10. weparo

    How much is too much?

woow, you got lucky man! the magnum is a one shot kill atm!

    Inventory view dislike?

After getting used to A2's, I think it wasn't so bad after all. The DayZ system is a hundred times better though!

    Weapons can get ruined... ;]

Haha, nice one. I've had this happen too with my revolver and pristine rounds, hence I'm thinking it's gliched... But since we can't read the status of the guns anyways, who knows....
  13. Grass render distance is locked anyways (I thought) and bushes don't just dissapear as far as I know, so your argument fails..... (I see the point though)
  14. no.... hardcore doesn't mean we start playing like console peasants..... and dammit, if I want better textures and a high/low headbob I have the right to get it! Hardcore means : Locked FOV, locked brightness and gamma. (and no third person, duh), everything more becomes too much.
  15. Hehe, no flame although these suggestions have been brought up many times, but why lock clouds, textures and terrain? Or head bob? Where is the advantage of having a high headbob?! Your list doesn't seem thought thorugh all the way....

Am I old or is the Acog wrong?

Dat love to the details.... :P

    M107 in Standalone

Sorta true.. although if some guy just wants it for the sake of looks... nerf that fucker down to a .22 and let them have it.... Nevermind, SOVIET WEAPONS ONLY ALL THE WAY!!!

    Weapon's Audible Distance

^^ But upping that audible distace is really necsessary!
  19. Get in touch with batleeye, or maybe even the VAC?

    M107 in Standalone

Well, zeroing, scopes and what not are all attachments, so that argument is invalid. If it's just for the looks of it, sure, why not. It should have similar damage properties to other sniper rifles of similar caliber. I'd hate to have this one super duper awesome gun in game everybody goes for, leaving everything else inferior. Why not? I'll dare asuming that it won't make a difference to you, wether you get shot with the M107 or the Mosin... I'd still prefer a "soviet weapons only" aproach to the games gun-wildlife though.

    The Never Ending Cycle...

Well, first of all, beans for the long and thought through post! You know, (feeling some-what adressed) you have some very valid points. I myself have been rather rude so some of the newcomers. And you're right too, that doesn't aid a positive and constructive atmosphere. Yet, not only in my defense but in others defense too, I have to say : Some people really come around with ideas that are so extremely out of place, that it is hard not to react harshly. For myself I can attest and admit that I have been harsher than neccessary on multiple occasions, not only due to the fear that with DayZ's large and unexpected success the true spirt of DayZ is at stake. I think that I speak for more than just myself when say that the Standalone should follow in the mod's footsteps. Now many new people have come here, some with better, some with less than good ideas. DayZ is unique as it offers a true hardcore gameplay experience, something very few games out there do nowadays. It is more or less known that many game studios have been nudging their developers to decrease the difficulty, in order to allow more players to share a moment of success and less frustration and therefore increasing revenue. Most of todays gamers have very little to no patience and endurance. The first gamers had much more of a white hat hacker touch. Lady Kyrah has very well pin-pointed the issue with many of todays gamers, and society in general : I am certain that many of us know what Lady Kyrah is talking about. I do for sure. With the rise of such mindsets, games promoting it have gained a lot of popularity, and are in return encouraging and conditioning this attiude. For me (and many others, I hope) DayZ always had something chess-like. Sure, it's a game. But it can still be a dead serious thing! My father told me about when he was younger, and how he was able to pass time while traveling the middle east. He always carried his chess set around. And while a game of chess was and is a social and enjoyable thing, it was always a battle fought in honour, a duel. For me DayZ is a very serious game (most of the time) and I do not want to see it loose its spirit because of somebodys need for a quick adrenaline or endorphine rush. So with my apology to the people that I blew off, I ask but one thing : Please think about what you're buying. DayZ is and will never be easy. It is a game that is supposed to make you rage quit it from time to time. DayZ comes with a small but (again, mostly) mature community, a community that knows what it wants. Please play the mod first, and play it vanilla & in first person view. Please think about what you're getting into. Thanks for the read, Weparo

What happened to 10 -- 15buck$ alpha pricing?

fairly sure that the term "CoD kiddie" is well know outside of the DayZ community... And I really mean WELL known. And please do read my posts before referring to them, because there isn't a single post where I attack CoD, or talk about money for Activision what-so-ever. But yeah, let's get back on topic! I personally belive that when rocket mentioned $ 15 (if he ever did) he ment it in a metaphorical way, and was not talking about the actual price. After all, they never made a statement about prices, and they were discussed untill the last day before the release as far as I know.

    Good ol' running up hills

I'd agree, but there is one issue : Define flat. Exept for a couple of miles along the coast, no ground in chernarus is absolutly flat, most of the time it goes up or down more or less subtle.
