I suppose it depends on how you use a script. what you script. Making a plane or heli patrol an area in arma = good. making an infinite ammo cheat in dayz = bad.

Let's not forget one thing, using hax, or scripts (which is basically the same, just depends on how you use it) supports the author / distributor of them. Even if they are "free scripts" or free hax.

@kichilron : I appreciate you answering me in such a detailled matter. I understand that you do need special powers to well regulate a server. Yet I have to deem the use of a unlimited ammo script uneccessary and do not apreciate it. Since so many people have come to a very disrespectfull and biased way of argueing i appreciate your objective commtent even more.

I understand that you feel atacked. Yet I do really value that you guys monitor the server. that you are there for us when we run into bugs or issues. I REALLY APRECIATE THAT! I do! But using cheats is in NO WAY related to doing any of what you descibed. Pretty much yeah. I thought the whole point of the vid is to show that hax kill dayz? so we are on the same side. But when some people don't feel ok with admins cheating. (an m9 with 999+ shots is a cheat, don't tell me otherwise) And the we get called IDIOTS? PATHETIC? STUPID? Kinda tells me enough.

That's funny. Aparently you didn't read either. Please read my post above and explain to me again about how you need all of that for working hard. I know that the musty community has decent admins, as a matter of fact I knew one when he was still running his own server. But that's not the point here.

In the USA maybe. Many people prefer a manual because it is cheaper, you can fix it yourself and you have WAAAAAAY more control about the car. Of course you need a decent clutch and the feel for it. Sadly many people are dumb or lazy. Hence they buy automatics. And after all this isn't even the west, in Chernaurus, they probably don't even know what an automatic ist.

OK, ok, ok. Now I totally agree with the points made in the video. But why does you character need infinite ammo for you to administer a server? Why does your CHARACTER need SUPERPOWERS? Tell me how you need infinite ammo and godmode to administer. PLEASE do tell me how you combat hackers, fix bugs and keep the server running smoothly by having an m9 with infinite ammo? Why do you need to be invisible to fix a battleeye filter? You guys realise that the bare ability for ammo or other objects to be spawnend in does open a lot of backdoors for hackers? For instance they don't need to break the game to spawn a vehicle. They just need to make the server believe that they are authenticated. Or find a glich. What I'm saying is that the sole possibility for players to perform such actions increases, what is called in german "angriffsfläche", meaning the "attackable surface". That is to say that they have more options to strike, and gives them different options to hack the game. I like to call it a security risk.

Looking at the pic from the 9th, how will visibility be handled? In the mod it's rather low, will we be able to adjust this? or will it be set to a large number / low number?

agreed. we should just be able to push our bikes. You can easily go around moutains though, that thing is rather quick

As a german (I only lived there 40% of my life time though) the answer is easy: A buch of retarded idiotic buerocrats, that have no fucking clue about what they are talking about. About any topic. They like to present themselves as the voices of reason (no killing of children, duh) whilst talking absolute bs. Obviously the media LOVES to blow these stories to some incredible BS story about how many psychopats would go murder children after playing such games. And the german (mostly lefties and treehugging idiots) ADORE reading such nonsense to then make a huge fuss about how fucked up the internet and the world is. hence.... Totally agree, but what's even more important imho is to remove ALL UI from the game. Including but not limited to health / damage of a car. No magic kompas or speed indicators on top of the screen. No health bars or fuel indicators. Of course the cars will come later in development so there will be enough time then. Oh god, YES PLEASE! Not only will the americans be introduced to real driving ( B) ) but it will also be easier to drive at a certain speed. Not these either 110 mph, 80mph or standing still commands. Make proper gears! This would also allow for faster offroading, given a suitable terrain!
