More like : Garand = Mauser K98 > Mosin-Nagant > Lee-Enfield Gerand and mauser are both awesome, depending on what you want to do. Epic rifles! Look them up on wikipedia :) -
Ahh, allright :) Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of the plains neither. I just feel that a wall has too much of a "beeing locked" aspect. This isn't the hunger games after all :D Whooops :P Might matter... might XD Nasty place, security and politically wise

I don't want to see a wall in the SA, yet I agree with your arguments exept one. Israel would nuke gaza and palestina in the blink of an eye, if they could. But the can't because other, powerfuller nations would extinguish israel from the face of the earth. Besides many israelis are hoping for a peaceful solutions. But believe me, the governement and the millitary have enough plans in their shelves on how to eradicate the palestine people. It ain't like they aren't trying to do so anyways. EDIT : One more thing, how is an endless forrest "unfinished terrain"?

guys, calm down :D It doesn't matter because the wall is a bad idea anyways and I don't see rocket doing that anyways. It's not his style. Endless forrest it is! ;) same here :D :D

that too, but think about this: you spot a sinper on building X. Just stay in the cover of the other 20 buildings and he can't hit you. He will not know where you went. and somone could climb up behind the sniper and kill him. He is trapped up there, with no way out!

I think it will be the opposite. The big buildings provide cover and allow to loot. It will be very hard for the sniper to keep track of everybody while he is trapped on a building... sux for him :D In the mod you don't have much cover to loot.

Exactly my point. With the new cherno, 30 guys might never meet. But since the snipers will derp around they will. :D

See above :) Nooo! ;) You could fit 150 players in the map :P Have you seen cherno's size in the stream? you can pack 30 guys in there and they won't meet every half hour! 30 more in elektro, 20 in berenzino, 70 across the rest of the map. Especially if Utes is added! Of course that'd be really the limit, and I doubt the server could handle it :( But gameplay wise it wouldn't be an issue. In the mod, true. but that's because 30 guys are in either elektro or cherno, and both are very small compared to the stream version

Story aside and with all due respect, that wall idea is BS imho. :) I'd still vote for the forrest idea, because : - It's my idea - You can't just store your vehicle outside of the map. Exept for cars, but the go soo slow, nobody would go too far - It looks better. - People might even be afraid of getting lost in the forrest and stay clear of it. - It won't cause an FPS issue like somone was afraid. With a view distance of, say 1.6k in the mod (SA will be more I hope) it doesn't matter on wether you're standing in the middle of a 3x3 km forrest or a 300x300 km one. Only what's inside of the view distance will be rendered. Otherwise I'd get cherno's FPS across the whole map :P THB, I've always liked ARMAs borders. Because there are none, yet you are limited. It just feels so much better :) The only problem with it in the mod was that people would fly their stuff out there so that nobody could steal it. Make it a forrest and that won't work. Weparo

I wouldn't mind an endless forrest... sucks if you get lost in it haha :D I'm really not a fan of a wall of any sort, it's stupid i think. Either make plains like now, or a forrest instead

I'll vouch for that, due to exams I'm taking a break from playing there, but the server is well populated, has nice fps and, as he said, is vanilla. -

I think you should be able to select your spawn on the southern coast. It allows people to deathmatch, while the north stays enjoyable -

I'll agree that door handles are the least of my concerns. Especially given the performance in cherno. I'm honestly scared thinking of having to render 200 additional doorhandles. :P No, seriously, I'm afraid of performance, or lack of thereof in SA

That's what I think too. Some smartass will hide all the items in some super secret place and the rest of the map starves... Bad Idea :P CHOOO! Chooo! Christmas release. I'm telling ya!

Truth is, I don't think there is a system able to run that. (yet) I think I'd be interesting if the server stopped spawning items. Don't forget that items degrade. But maybe if there are 15k items stockpiled in the cherno appartements the server only supports 15k items it 'd stop spawning items and force you to find all the loot?

Can't they just not zoom in around the scope? Keep the outside view normal but the scope zoomed in?

Any good marksman / shooter will always keep both eyes open anyways to increase awareness and retain 3d sight. A very weak effect wouldn't hurt though. EDIT : It needs to be very, very weak!

First thing : fuck consoles, dammn peasants :P Seriously though, I am really glad that there are still companies like Bohemia that make real (!) PC games. If you look around, you will see so many "PC" games that are just ports from consoles. I definititly don't miss the console kiddies in DayZ / Arma. Polygon count, polygon count... I see more polygons it a forrest than in a room with a coutch! I've written down my ideas about this below. Well, having no clue about programming, but I wonder why all the couches and other furniture from another building have to be rendered if you're not even looking at them? Maybe it is because we acctually see all these things but then the wall renderd in our face just "over" draws it? You know what I'm saying? Maybe they could just set a custum rendering distance of say 100 yards/meters for "select" couches that are only visible when you are in the same room anyways? That should give a fps boost. Sadly few games utilize more than one core, although arma allegedly uses two cores... Given that the PS4 features a octacore (eight cores) running at 1.6 GHz (the Xbox one has the same cpu running at 1.75 GHz) we can expect massive multithreading optimisation for games ported from consoles. Which is good because hopefully PC games might come with better multithreading support too. We'll see what the future brings. Unless rocket eases my mind, I will probably really wait untill SA releases and we get an idea of the performance, before I build my new PC. Weparo
