Nah, no source :P Just to shock people a bit ;) I don't want all the idiots to buy an alpha thinking it will be a game. I wouldn't be surprised if the hive will fuck up once or twice. Or all the sudden you have new items, and the old ones can't be there no more... With many updates there is a strong possibility for that to happen. But as I said it's mostly a (pathetic) attempt to stop people from buying the alpha

Lag has nothing to do with your CPU/GPU. Lag has to do with your ISP/LAN. Have you taken a speed test? speedtest.net for example

No man, that sinking in the ground sucks, trust me! What before mentionend guy suggested is to tamper with the textures at long range, similar to the way millitary patterns break up your outline. I'll try to show a screen of how well players can be spotted at long range here in a second http://imgur.com/a/bm3xP Here, hope this works. First time I upload pictures to that site :) Distances are roughly 0 then 140 then 280 meters/yards. In full HD the soldier is always well visible. -

Well, it's not about the grass tecnically, but it's bullshit that you can be seen like a black dot on a piece of white paper when you are further than 300m away. Rendering grass would eliminate that but be waaay to performance eating. There are better solutions. -

Allright, the 6 inches are not cool, agreed :) I'm of the opinion that A2 with a 3k+ view distance is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played.

I think many small ones is waay better than a big one. I agree on the Zombies and especially the blocking of zombies. I always wanted a way to just shove them aside (if it's only one or too) and keep running. Or the ability to grab them by the shoulders and push them to the ground. Then : Baaam, headshot ;) Mhh, you realise that the pending release is the Alpha release, not the "real" release? We will have our gear an characters wiped on a weekly basis, you know? You shouldn't buy it.

Zombies are WIP and I didn't notice a block animation... but I only saw 70% so I don't know. We'll see when the alpher comes out :)

No, I was referring to SA as SA 1.0 What I'm betting on to come out soon is the alpha of said SA. But it will be bug filled, even compared to the mod and you will loose gear many times. I doubt it to be a very enjoyable experience. Cheers

If he waits for SA, he 'll be waiting another year... I say get the mod, play vanilla. If you don't like it you can still go and play other mods

SA won't release in the next year, so don't bother waiting. I'd highly recommend the mod, it's well made and very enjoyable

No, it's the other way around. Bohemia makes the games for the PC's of the future now. Besides "next-gen" is a console term. It doesn't apply for PCs Have a look at these benchmarks : http://www.techspot.com/review/712-arma-3-benchmarks/page1.html In 3 to 5 years you will be able to get a good performance out of the game. At the moment you need something around 1.5k EUR to make it happen. Very true :) Lag has nothing to do with render distances.... -
Well, yeah, but given that there are no .50s anymore.... The only thing really threatining the AN-2 is the Mi-17, but he can be out climbed fairly easy

Pick people up. With a bit of skill you can land that thing anywhere. Plus it's bulletproof
