lol, for real? wtf... Maybe it's performance? or they just need more time? I hope it's not what we think it is :D

the more anti-cheats the better. some games even have 3 or more

An anti-cheat called Battleeye. :P No seriously, it's the "standard" anticheat for BI Studios. It will allow for bans and kicks of hackers.

DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.
weparo replied to Murakamo's topic in General Discussion
Haha, thanks bro :) Well, I didn't mean to be rude, but still. DayZ is not for everyone. And that's cool! Because people have different tastes in everything: Food, clothing, sex, you name it! And I know (too) many people that are just like this : And you know what? The have all the right to be like that! It's cool with me, I can't change them anyways... Take my smaller brother for instance : He is exactly the kind of guy who would say something like in above quote. He enjoys games like L4D2, that in my opinion is just utter crap. The deal is this : I don't go to the L4D2 forums and ask for more realism (no more unlimited ammo in the pistols) and he doesn't go to the DayZ forums asking to make the game easier (location indication, different types of spawn). You know what I'm saying? I think the DayZ community is very open to new members, but after all we are a very small community that probably considers itself "elitist", whatever :P Many games have been watered down to increase the appeal to the consumers. Have a look at The Cynical Brits video about God Hand where he explains why the (in his opinion) awesome game has had small commercial success. I'd hate to see DayZ beeing modified to apeal to a larger userbase at the expense of the "true DayZ spirit". After the final release of SA, when modding is supported, there will be many (optional) things that help the player and create easier gameplay. Weparo -
SKS rifle will be a mix of DMR and M14 aim ?

I think you know what he meant..... I completly agree. But didn't it read M21 something like that on it? -
^^ these :) For alpha standards, DayZ is extremly well made and almost polished. Please have a look at other alphas before posting a lot of nonsense.

Hospital PVP Server-Custom loadouts, 1000+ vehicles, Weapon crates in Cherno+Elektro

10/10 would bang :P of course not -
Disable that software, the RV engine supports controllers and analog sticks... And what does that have to do with your bone?
-
does make sense actually. I'm no expert, but have you tried running dayZ in windowed mode, then swich back to full screen? and how does A3/A2 run for you? Best of luck, Weparo

RV = Real virtuallity. One thing that holds true for A3, and I'm optimistic that it does for SA too, is the importance of the disk and Ram speed. Often enough people only stated the size of the ram/disk. Speed matters!! I run a SSD on a Sata III port, and going from 1.6 GHz DDR3 to 1.866 GHz DDR3 gives a permanent +5 frames boost. That's why I've decided to buy 2.4 GHz Ram, but that's another story :D

Guys calm your expectations! @OP Read the devblogs. NOW. Before posting here again. You have some reading to do, then you'll understand how ridiculous and stupid you post is. Such win :D

My little brother is one of these people.... They make me cry and loose all hope. :( But well put, I can literally hear the conversation in my head :P -
I like to use RTSS, combined with HWinfo it is an excellent tool for fps, performance and temperature monitoring. LOL, on my old build half of the time you could actually do that, hahahaha :D

I think you missunderstand. There are new payers to the sandbox that want to change the whole sandbox, and that doesn't sit well with many people that like the sandbox the way it is. -
Ok, so performance is an issue eh? Well, maybe your CPU is shit.... I run an i5, stock settings and get 60+ frames on ultra, everything maxed out. Besides, what other engine can do what the VR engine can? The unreal engine seemed nice indeed, but I have no clue if it has the performance for dayZ. EDIT: To everybody screaming "optimisation" : You can only optimize that far. Take a look at A2 release date and how well/not well it has been optimized since then. Maybe it can't be optimized further, maybe the devs are not willing / able to do it (nothing personal, I suppose opimization is hard and unrewarding work) but either way it doesn't matter. Because it won't be optimized far enough. Wether this is because of it's impossibility or the "personal" unwillingness of the devs doesn't matter, the final result is the same. The game will just be coded now, and the right hardware on which it will be playable will be released in the next couple years. It's all about patience. Bohemia has a way of making games for future hardware that one needs to get used to.

For me it's about not getting eye cancer from the horrendous graphics at mid range :P

I think I'd be best to split them in a northern half and a southern one. The southern one is for tourists, they want to visit the cities and stuff and the northern one is for "normal" people :P And obviously there should be a full map, and most of the time you should find the full one. Then again, I never use the ingame map, always the DayZ central map or just my memory. Weparo

Well, maybe your friend just sucks at describing and is not the kind of guy for dayz? DayZ is not for everyone. And that's good because we don't want all the kiddies here. DayZ is supposed to be harsh and unforgiving. I think : The harder the better. certainly NOT! If the new players don't like DayZ, well sucks for them, there are plenty of other games out there. Bottom line : If you don't like DayZ being though, GTFO. EDIT: Oh, and if you don't like being shot, watch your surroundings. EDIT2: Holy shit, I never got so many beans on a single post, keep 'em coming :P :D- 189 replies

It's all about CPU speed and drive speed. What CPU does he have, and what else did he change when installing the new card? What card did he have before?
-
Most of that "gliching" are just players that disable all of the objects in the world like trees, buildings, grass. So basically they are running through the debug plains with some survivors floating around an loot. This is possible because the servers don't require signatures as of yet, no eta when that's gonna happen. BTW, using these exploits is sufficient reason for a perma ban, or so I've been told. I wouldn't recommend trying it. :P Weparo

The hive got ddos'ed and wasn't available but is back now. Besides, see my sig.
