Well, sorry to hear you got your cd key stolen. Did you download something like the FPS Booster? It's a shame you lost all your stuff on Origins, but just follow what I posted and you should get another cd key, but that's the only one you'll get, so be careful this time and look at the tips to avoid a situation like that again. I agree with you about BE; I don't really think they are the best anti-cheat, but least we won't have to deal with em in the standalone.

Not necessarily, like I said, some people aren't the most computer savy, and might click on links that look legit on youtube and such, but really aren't. Like I said, not everyone has played computer games extensively. I realize that, that's why I recommended Razer Game Booster to people. I did educate those on what not to do to prevent themselves from getting banned in the first place, had you actually read the thread and my first post. I hope it does, too. This thread was made to prevent every person from posting that they got banned and what they need to do. The "contact Battleye" repost and constant locking of threads wasn't cutting it, so I thought I'd be helpful and post this. Btw, if you are stupid enough to get your cd key stolen again, they won't give you another, so you have to buy the game again. I think this is fair for those that get wrongfully banned. BI is able to determine if you hacked the game or not through your IP. I don't get the pessimism that has escalated with this thread tho. It's just a way to help and I've been bashed for trying to help innocent people lol, so asinine and insane.

Let's just hope it works out better. Battleye hasn't been updated since 2009 though I'm fairly certain. Thanks for the clarification on the ban with weapons, though. Like I said, only made this post to help. As I also said, if you get your account banned again, then you're banned forever, unless you make another new steam account and buy the game again.

NOTIFICATION: If BI decides to give you a new cd key after being declared innocent, let it be noted that if you get this account banned, YOU WON'T GET ANOTHER. So, make sure not to make any more mistakes in regards to getting your cd key stolen.

I think sometimes players can get banned if they pick up a weapon that was hacked in and they use it, not all the time, but sometimes. I was referring to cd keys being stolen tho anyway.

This is good haha, and didn't mean to sound so defensive, but I have the best intentions with this thread. Hackers can't use the solution I posted because BI makes sure they investigate it thoroughly. Server Side Clients and VAC ftw tho.

I wasn't trying to state anything about getting your old account unbanned, but getting a new cd key altogether. As I said, I realize the ban is a legit ban for the hacker which is good, but that doesn't necessarily qualify the actual innocent person deserved of the ban. They are given by BI studios though to innocent people, not hackers. Thought you should know that, which is why I made this thread, and why people should stop posting to others "contact Battleye" as their best advice, because it does little to nothing doing so. They do a good job of actually determining if you're innocent or not. They know by the evidence if you actually hacked in DayZ or if you were just a victim of cd key theft. Furthermore, there is probably a reason in the SA they are switching to VAC and a server side client, as BE has done a less than stellar job imo, in support and other categories.

You aren't unbanning it... you are getting a new cd-key, hence it's not the same GUID. I know completely how the system works. Have you ever heard of second chances? You need to realize some people aren't the most computer savy when it comes to accidentally downloading things they thought were going to help them legitly with lag, and end up getting them banned. I don't know why people are so harsh to those that get banned by making a mistake not caused by hacking, it baffles me. How would you feel if you were in their situation and you got villified/ridiculed the same way? You guys are making way too big a deal out of something that is just here to help innocent people, not hackers.

Or... you can suck it up and actually do something about it. Battleye bans the hacker right of course, just not the person that got their cd key stolen. People make mistakes and download programs that they don't mean to download thinking it will help with lag, such as the Dayz FPS Booster that tricks some people into thinking it will reduce lag, but actually just steals their key. This is why I suggested downloading Razr Game Booster instead, as it's not a hack, but an actual program.

It's not a "sob story" if it's true and backed by evidence from your Steam account. Think whatever you wish, though. If you get banned falsely, just make sure you don't try to use this solution though ;). That's also why they do a THOROUGH investigation of it. It's not like they just look at it for 2 seconds and give you a new cd key, they actually dictate its veracity or not, hence with the evidence.

Not really, but ok. If they hacked to steal CD keys, they won't get another cd key. However, if it was someone who actually got their cd key stolen and wasn't a hacker, they shouldn't have their account wrongly banned. I'm sure hackers have tried this, but probably were denied because they ACTUALLY hacked. All this "contact battleye" stuff I see in other threads is complete bullocks and people won't get anywhere with that. So, if this thread gets deleted for actually being helpful to innocent people, then there is something wrong with these forums and they aren't very helpful if so. Btw, notice how I say "Hackers Need Not Apply". EDIT: Also, they will know if you're innocent or not if they look at your IP address and see if it was stolen or not as well. Forgot to mention that in the first post, just added it in.

Why would this be deleted? Because I provided actual support? Makes sense. You prob didnt even read any of it and just assumed it was bs. I wouldn't mind my other thread getting deleted though.
