    If the vaulting mechanic seems broken, trying pressing the "v" button a little sooner... or a lot sooner, like a full second ahead. Then it will work fine. It's the result of low server fps.

    Double zoom

    Other weapons could zoom-in on the mod, but in the SA it is only the 8x mosin scope as mentioned above (for now). Alternatively you could go to your video settings and drop your FoV all the way down and you'll be pretty much double your normal "right-click" ADS view. A little clunky but it enables you to be pretty zoomed in with a PSU scope.

    Sick of this already

    While the game is in Alpha, it would behoove you not to become attached to your character or your gear. The issue will be fixed, though probably not for quite a while. If it bothers you that much, I would recommend waiting until it is in Beta stage.

    Welcome :) It really is a completely different kind of game... and it will only continue to get better over the next year. Much, much better. I upgraded my PC instead of picking up either of those systems entirely because of this game :D

    Had mostly friendly encounters so far, everywhere except the NWAF. Was even given a .45 and a couple mags by a guy in Elektro today... Southeastern US servers for the win :P

    AMD FX-4100 Fixed!! bizarre...

    So, I've been extremely frustrated by my FX-4100 Bulldozer running ARMA 2 and DayZ SA like absolute shit over the past year (GPU usage never went above 70% as a result of cpu bottlenecking), and so when I came across a cheap AMD Athlon X2 3.4Ghz I figured why not throw it in my rig and see what happens... Well... It ran even worse... Which I guess I shouldn't be totally surprised by, it was just the my FX-4100 bulldozer was such shit (13-17 fps in cities) I had to give it a shot... Anyway, I take the Athlon X2 out and put the FX-4100 back in and load up DayZ and voila! I'm suddenly getting 100%+ gpu usage and am bottoming out around 28-30 FPS in cities... I can't even begin to understand how the hell this happened but if anyone can lend any insight I would greatly appreciate it... Playing DayZ now is like playing it for the first time all over again because the cities are actually playable. Just so confused as to how this could've helped... or what was going wrong before I swapped the CPU's Edit: System specs MSI FXA-990gd80 mobo FX-4100 bulldozer @ 3.8Ghz GTX 660 with PrecisionX K-boost enabled 8Gb ram @ 1600 7200 rpm HD Windows 7

    I tried using the startup parameters prior to cpu swapping with no change whatsoever, even tried parking cores 3&4 on the FX and OC'ing a bit further which did nothing... I'll take a stab at it though for curiosity sake

    Kind of glad for this at the moment... As soon as tents or storage devices that persist through server restarts are added in the amount of loot hoarding and banditry will skyrocket.
  13. Very eloquent... try elaborating next time. I like where OP is headed with this... I just don't know if the effects of being anti-social and hyper aggressive (aka a bandit) should be as drastic or detrimental as you want them to be... Banditry and player battles are part of what makes the game great. There needs to be more incentive to try and team up or not shoot on sight, but i don't think excessive penalties for bandits is the right answer.

    A lot of variables here to consider... I think they need to figure out exactly how many more zombies they can add in before they change anything with their health. You're absolutely right about the melee weapon damage though... anything but an ax seems pretty useless to me. I still envision there being enough zombies and scarce enough ammo that a one shot kill on them with any weapon is still going to be difficult in most situations.

    Base building

    This is temporary, wait until zombies are increased. As for the base building, I believe they are looking in to a barricading system. This means you will not be building a base from scratch, but will be finding the necessary ingredients to lock and board up an existing building. Build a stash/safe whatever, and lock that up too... There is still a lot of deabte over the most effective way to do this, but I know you wont be building from the ground up a la "Rust Style".

    The loot is definitely not the issue. Server hopping is the real problem. This is difficult to mitigate in such a game and I trust in Rocket and Co,'s ability to work with the community to find the correct solution... For now, its just the alpha so there will be a year of playing around with different methods of handling this issue. Continue to ponder the issue, who knows, maybe you'll come up with the solution that will be implemented in the end.

So, I've been running DayZ and the mod on an: FX-4100 Bulldozer OC'd to 4.0Ghz and a GTX 660 Frames have been total shit in towns because, as I've come to learn, the AMD Bulldozer line was an utter fucking disaster. I was able to find a cheap Athlon X2 270 that I intend to throw in to my rig and OC to ~3.8Ghz I'm not sure if I'll see an improvement or not, but at the moment I'm betting I will. Anyone have any guesses or recommendations for another processor I should consider trying if the X2 Athlon doesn't give me any increase to FPS? currently getting around 14-17 frames in towns Any bets what my new FPS will be?

    This is why I'm nervous to drop the money on a new processor... I'll report back on Saturday when I plug in the X2... Hopefully that will give me an acceptable rate for now.

    Please elaborate. Any testing you can do? In the 10 hours I've been able to put in since release I haven't noticed anything wrong with the accuracy. Is it offset at a distance or just up close? etc...

    It's a place holder that's carried over from the mod, and will be replaced with something a little nicer in the future. If it is still happening after returning to full "blood/health" then it sounds like a small bug of some sort.
