Have you ever thought maybe people roleplay as bandits roaming the land for people to hunt? Have you ever read "The Road"? There's cannibalistic groups that hunt for humans to rape, kill and eat. Just because they can. PVP is not going anywhere, because "kill on sight" could be roleplayed as "I'm a lunatic who trusts nobody and hates the world". Learn to deal with it.

For me, this game is all about the PVP. Why shouldn't we be allowed to kill anybody we want?

It's probably just you. My friends and I have 5 tents stocked full of weapons and an unlimited amount of ammo. We are tripping over the amount of weapons we have in this game. Just look in the Balota airfield, every deer stand, NW Airfield, Stary Sobor, supermarkets and barn. There's no way you shouldn't be stumbling upon weapons every time you play. -
You do it by editing your profile in the game's main menus.

Yeah, you'll need to respawn the character. I get this from time to time, but it's "Wilderness" and I never have my gear.

My thoughts exactly. Dude in the quoted post, chill out. It's a free mod for a game you paid $30 for. Don't act like some privileged little brat about this. The people who work on these games that you enjoy have lives, too. They also like to do stuff they enjoy. They can't put their lives on hold, because someone on a forum demands they come back from their vacation to work on a free mod. Breathe, mate.

Hey, I figured I'd post in this thread rather than make a new one. but do you guys have any footage you want me to use for a short trailer/"commercial" I'm making for DayZ? I'd record it myself, but I'd like to include clips from the community. Video will probably be 30 seconds - 1 minute & 30 seconds long, so any clips that are short and to the point are well wanted. PM me or reply here with a dropbox/mediafire/etc link. I'll give credit for all videos and post the link when I'm done.
