    This is a screenshot of your avatar: now that we're both up to speed on how to draw red circles around images let's get back to the topic. "So an enemy is nearing you, and your solution is to shoot at your friend so the bullets kill him and the enemy? Instead of just moving to the side? " Um, if I'm standing about 10 yards from a buddy and there's someone creeping up behind him, wouldn't your "forced into lowering your weapon" feature keep me from firing off to the side of the person I'm currently "friends" with? I never said anything about shooting my friend. It's just you didn't specify with cone/radius this would affect. Not my fault you didn't clarify, Mr. StrengthAndHonor. Also, I don't grief. I just defend my friends. Anyway, another person who was griefed by a bandit coming to the forums thinking they have the solution to make the game easier for them.

    You think someone in real life with the capacity to carry as much stuff as we're capable of in DayZ would be like "nah man, I killed this person. I should really limit myself to just taking 4 items off them". Quite silly.

    I know. I was playing the game back then. It sucked and was stupid. Which is why he took it out. A lot of people got it, because of self-defense. If this was added how would you like it if players who habitually killed other players had this exact same feature. Converse with other bandits which would then show you every single non-bandit on the server? Just saying. This suggestion would just ensure an endless cycle of player killing, because everybody would know where everybody was making people go after them to kill them. How does that stop player killing in any way? Your suggestion would just be a perpetual cycle of murder.

    This is pretty dumb on so many levels. I don't kill on sight unless I have reason to, so don't go attacking me like I know you will anyway. First off, if I choose to shout back 'friendly' than I am forced for one hour into cooperation with this player? As in, I won't even be able to aim my weapon towards him like you said? So if someone is approaching behind him and I can take a shot off, I won't be able to, because this will FORCE my weapon to be lowered causing us both to be killed. Not to mention, it takes away the risk of friendly fire which makes every encounter with friends even more tense and exciting. Second, this is not the answer. Even if something like this would ever be implemented, I could wait til the hour was up and just shoot the other player then run off with over an hour worth of group gathered loot. Yes. This is totally the solution. Your suggestion wouldn't make the game more appealing to a mass audience, it would just take away from what a mass audience is currently loving about the game.

    Again no. Not because of what I think of this idea, but because that dude Rocket said he would NEVER punish banditry in any way shape or form. Also, this is a stupid idea. If I go up to someone and use this 'conversation' action, we can both instantly know where every person who has ever killed anyone, whether in self-defense or not, is located on the server? Isn't that what we call hacks?

  17. You know how in MMO's when you're forced to wait longer than normal to log out when you come under attack? Do this in DayZ, but give it a twist. Force a player to wait about 2 minutes to disconnect/alt+f4/exit in anyway out of the game or else kill their character upon re-logging. It seems harsh, but think of the people who disconnect as children. They're told by Rocket himself to not do it, but why stop when they're currently just being rewarded for doing exactly what he says not to. You need to reinforce the idea that disconnecting from a firefight is bad. One of the only ways to do this is to kill their character's after they exploit the game. When you're a kid you learn to not do stupid shit, because A) it hurts and B) you'll get in trouble. Kill their character once and they'll never do it again. It'll suck for the people who's game legitimately CTD's during/post-firefight, but you know what, tough luck. The 5% of unlucky players will be pissed, but the rest of the exploiters will finally fade away. If not this than something else needs to be done ASAP, in my opinion. There's nothing more shitty (except those long load times, amirite?) when you're hunting someone and you get into what you think is going to be a fun firefight and when you finally get the upper hand the other player disconnects. Sucks.

  21. Yeah, the load times are honestly the only thing I want addressed in the next patch. Anything else is complimentary.
