If you gave a buff to one type of character without offsetting it or putting different buffs on the others then people would only play that one character. Also if you are smaller you aren't necessarily more stealthy, less detectable or quieter. Enough women play the game, it's just the characters they choose aren't always female and vice versa.

Funny thing is I haven't seen a single 357 or longhorn in regular... Though I have heard an AKM (it and an M4 were going at it to blow up a petrol station) I haven't seen one too.(regular)

Rubber banding fix confirmed in internal testing. Fix is being pushed to experimental. Rocket is hyped about the new update. I'd say we will have it before 1/7/14 (or 7/1/14 for Americans) unless more problems happen.

Most of the houses in SA are unable to be entered. One of the main improvements in SA over the mod is the increase of structures you can enter.

I've never worked in IT but when 90% of your family can't run excel without some help then you learn to do Idiot checks. I'm not saying you guys are idiots but I actually had a friend only install OA and then wondered why he couldn't play even when the instructions he say said to install both. He also is fairly good with computers. Sometimes people make mistakes or overlook things which can be fixed simply.

You still need to have A2 installed. Though the new update means all you have to do for steam is: Download and install A2 and OA (and open it, as said before) Right click on OA and go to betas Select betas from the drop down. Wait for it to install. Go to steam and install the DayZ mod through it. Done.

The need to have A2 installed or the need to run it. If it's A2 then clearly he does not know that as he specifically said that he did not re-install A2 only OA. The need to run it? Well I like to cover all the bases I think of at the time.

You need to have Arma 2 installed with Operation arrow head. OA did not come with the Chernarus map as it did not need it for it's campaign. However Arma 2 did. You also need to run both before installing DayZ so you have a player profile ready to go.

You have all the motivation you need in the game. Though sometimes I feel a similar setup to what happened in SAO would solve quite a few problems people have with other players.

Knocked me out, I had ballistic helmet on. Not long after I was dead. He probably had a good 30 seconds to line up his sights before I turned.

If they aren't within 0-50m then I probably can see them. Then it isn't a firefight, it's just someone shooting at me. If i can see them then i fire back, thus making it a firefight. Though I seem to loose all of my firefights... Hang on let me get the list going. Put 3 into someone with a magnum when they were across the room. The managed to close the distance and hit me with an axe before the server registered the shots (1000 ping). Had a magnum out and a mosin on my back. Ran into a user of a mosin out in the Boondocks. I went to grab my mosin, he put a round into the floor and i ran. Another shot went past, i hid behind cover. Put 3 rounds from the magnum out to suppress. (what is it about me and 3 round bursts with a 357?) Ran back to a couple of trees on a hill, looked around the area. Couldn't see him, reloaded and went on my merry way, 357 in hand as much as possible. (I'd call it a tie...) In the ship. Ran into an unarmed person earlier. I had a b95. We did nothing un toward to each other but didn't talk, I kept the b95 equipped to be sure. I found an axe better than mine on the ship and swapped it. Later after finding a pistol (no ammo) I rna into him again on the ship. He had my old axe. He came for me, dodging and somewhat going through walls. I emptied the B95 and he beat the crap out of me. I was at NEAF, shotty in hand and reallt geared up. Another guy came up. I raised the shotty and told him to get out over direct. 1 min later he had come back with a splitting axe. I missed with the first shot but blew his knees out with the second. Reloaded and put the 3rd into his back. Pulled my Magnum and put another in his head (rule 2, double tap). Checked his gear it was all f*cked. (win) 10 mins later, switched server due to restart. I drop a silenced 22 with a single round in favour of a FNX (had a mag waiting). Moved on. 2 mins more and I notice a guy pointing a silver pistol. I go to raise my sawn off. *Bang* Shot me with my old gun. Don't know why i bothered to write that out.

Yes to all. Except evertually too many people will start running Mosins with LRS and either an AK or M4. Personally I run a shotty and a magnum when ever i can get the combo. And a fireaxe to round it off. I'm not keen on getting into long range engagements.

Maintenance is being performed on the servers. From 0700 GMT onwards they are offline. BTW what happened to the message that was on the top of the forums when Wednesday came around to alert people. Hasn't been seen for months.
