A Plea To The Devs For Law And Order in Dayz SA
SpecOpSpruce replied to freeman83's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
looks like the devs listen :D a couple of suggestions though: * remove the current "player remove handcuffs"-system and read through the rest of this post! ^^ --> * allow players to handcuff both feet and hands * if a player only has his/her hands cuffed -> let him/her be able to run away but with the risk of falling down and taking damage while when sprinting (trggers can be time, slopes, rain, etc). * if a player only has his feet cuffed -> allow inventory access to surprise the enemy by pulling out a weapon and killing the enemy then the player can crawl to the enemy body and take the keys to the cuffs and uncuff him/herself * if a player has both hands and feet cuffed -> let the user be able to roll around and crawl slow * allow weapons like crowbar and axe to remove (destroy) the cuffs, and toolbox to remove (keep), also allow the player in cuffs to interact with ground items such as the crowbar or toolbox which the player uses to destroy/remove his/her cuffs. * an additional crazy experiment would to be and allow the use of vision blocking items like bags, ductape, blacked out goggles etc to prevent the players from running off (imagine having a black screen and only hearing sounds... and then you hear one or several zombies screaming and running towards you.... EEP! :D ), the vision blocker could be removed by the cuffed player by rolling around or crawling backwards on the ground, each item having different resistance, goggles and bag being easy to remove (but doesn't destroy), ductape being worst (but is destroyed in the process). * Hostile players (the captor) can prevent the players from trying to get out of their cuffs and vision-blocking items by pressing a game key that makes the player model shout at the player, this will FORCE stop the captured player from moving by an in game mechanics (5 seconds "terror freeze" the first shout, 10 seconds second and rest). This could also be used to get the attention of zombies, so if the captured person doesn't calm down the captor will yell at him/her and aggro a bunch of zombies, it could also be used to get attention from other players or zombies as a bait feature. * ductape could also be used similar to handcuffs but with less durability. -
o my chap, the realistic nature in this photograph is almost overbearing. myes very fine work I say, well do carry on sir!

July Round-up: "I want the alpha" < "I want the alpha to be good"
SpecOpSpruce replied to SmashT's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
You should really realize the dilemma here now, I mean you really are all over the place with this, to me however it's very simple: either his words are accurate and holds value or they don't, they however can't be both. The 2-month release does not still stand but you're free to believe so- I mean that's how Ive been the last 5 times the words "release date" has been brought up. Also "mad"? You need to stop tossing that word around like kids do on 9gag and facebook and look it up because that's not what's going on, if anything you can't read me at all, friend. -

Not really sure what you're on about, maybe his old comment about the opened and closed alpha in may/june, I'm however referring to this -> "It's not going to be next week (jet lag, etc...). But it's not going to be longer than two months. It will be somewhere in between." -- rocket2guns "I'm just curious if the '1 week (post E3) to 2 months' statement still stands." -- lOldBoyl "E3 was two weeks ago. And yes it does." -- rocket2guns Also stop acting stupid, an internal date is simply a date kept private, there's no need for it to change unless they DON'T have an date but just use it like an excuse to say "Don't worry, we got this fokes!", also a milestone, for lets say a planned fix, is not the same as a release date, however! you might not remember/know this one but one big milestone was to fix the client-server architecture, this was the goal set for them prior to start pushing out the alpha release but then went for additional milestones. Also not sure what more I can tell you, I suppose you don't feel the same way as I because you weren't watching the streams and lived through when rocket with gold in his eyes went on about how alpha would suck but be available asap, how they're almost done with the goal for alpha, how they then update that they complete the goal for alpha and then goes on about doing somethings else, that whatever they said before is now invalid. Anyways, ive spent waaay too much on this, ive already explained don't listen to rocket about anything that hints a near release instead just wait for when DayZ SA finally pops up on Early Access. -

I suppose you're one of those not following him on reddit, well basically people called him out on his comment on E3 "no longer than two months" and he confirmed it, you can even back up a little in this thread and have me asking about it and another user confirming and linking it. But hey, it never happened right? Right. -

There's no smoke without fire- we wouldn't have had this situation to begin with if dean wouldn't have gone off and talking about clearly impossible release dates, people don't go hyped without reason. The devblog never gets updated then poff suddenly rocket comes out of the hiding and talks about release around the corner, and wanting to push out the game ASAP. Ive followed the shit out of reddit, twitter, and the interviews and he's clearly stating a soon release in all of these, and this "internal week" is clearly bullshit because they obviously have no clue when to release the game since they broke the "stable alpha" they had in june. And honestly why pissing on users when they are quoting and asking? Rocket himself has even admitted his faults and come with strange excuses like "I wasn't lying, I was just wrong" thus rage is inevitable so crying out "whiny 12yo" doesn't make you look any older or mature or put you in any "cool club" if anythings all I see is a bunch of try-hards. All we want to do is to move on from the DayZ mod(s) and start playing the DayZ standalone, we wan't to support this game regardless of the bugs, we want to bring our friends into this, maybe record and post some game play on youtube, maybe even report bugs and give good feedback so that rocket and the rest can work on improving the game even more. -

To: whiny people whining about whiny people  Let people ask/rant because they wonder wth is going on and care about the game, if you don't give a f**k then don't bother about pissing on other users either ! -
where do you guys collect deans (original) pics ? (other than half-working google)

All about DayZ Standalone in one Thread! Pics,Vids and posts.

I believe the response to the june-ordeal was somethings like: "I wasn't lying, just wrong". -
-1 to all unrelated crap. +1 to all rocket-and-devupdate-phuns. +999999 if someone starts doing rocket-release-date-phuns

Actually I think it would be better for all of us, specially mods (because they end up getting the crap by protecting rocket), that he just stops talking to the public -period-, stop mentioning or hinting release dates at all and then twist the words because things didn't go as planned. Talk is cheap and when you cannot communicate properly to begin with then it's a wasteland garage sale. A recommendation to everyone: if rocket speaks/post whatever on reddit, says whatever on interviews, DON'T BLOODY LISTEN! If someone else from the devteam mentions a date, then maybe take it in but everything else IGNORE. -
DayZ Alpha won't launch until launched !
SpecOpSpruce replied to willey.erd@oundleschool.org.uk's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
That was the original plan, testers would get the keys early/mid june and then the rest some time later ("very likely before the end of june")- but then change of plans. -
You should see his beans.w-wait what.
