inb4 bandit feast -
I think some GUY is currently teleporting around and being invulnerable ( me and my mates hit him with axes and m4s/mosins and he didn't die even though he began bleeding like a furnace. ) He proceeded to kill all of us by teleporting into the houses we were hiding in. Corpse ran back to him, tried again with an axe while he was still bleeding. No luck. He also constantly moved through walls, though i assume that was his teleport in action. His name ( japanese symbols ? ) make him appear in the game as if he had no name ( blank ). I reported him but wanted to make people aware to rather avoid this server and servers with people that have blank names.

It's the anti-teleport script kicking in. Don't run with your fists-held because you're not intended to run that fast. I know, its silly.

Wanna fight bra ? Lets meet on West 2-1. -
try sceneComplexity=50000; or less in .dayzprofile. the amount of people in this thread who think they know something when they really don't is too damn high. yes every iteration of the arma is horribly unoptimized, especially in MP. no, just no. you probably played on another server, another mission, etc. Yes they did the most basic of optimizations. But most MP servers still drag you down to 15-20 if you don't have some beasty i5 or i7. but arma2/3 is much more horrible anyways. given the data client receives - or rather - everyone is a server. everyone has to calculate everything.

Standalond Hackers...[Teleported to ocean]
mhashemi@gmx.net replied to scroogescrooge's topic in General Discussion
Yeah this is a pretty simple script. They removed some script-functions in the last patch, namely god-mode and spawning items and also added an anti-teleport script. But most other script still work. In my opinion it should be a top priority to port all scripts to C++ and hard-code them (like they already did with some. At least they are able to that now. Unlike in ARMA2/3. -
You've got to be careful what server you join. Servers like DayZ NJ 2-1 do that. Try to find one server you'll always play on. The ones with country ID's are pretty save, as in DE, UK, GB, NL, SE, ES, RU etc.

Bring back weapon lengths obscuring your movement indoors.

Hell f***ing no. There is a reason the removed that in the mod and every mod of the mod. I like realism, but it added more annoyance than anything positive. -
Is this even up for debate ? The Mosin doesn't even make nearly enough damage to make up for the much slower firerate and magazine size. Remember the M4 can go up to 60 rounds in one mag and make use of the ACOG scope which makes long'ish-range shooting more than suitable.

Hell no. Hacks, glitches/exploits (server-hopping, bodies disappearing, things that shall-not-be-named) and loss of character-data should be priorities. That's the basics. The rest is just features built on that foundation.

There is no need to discuss this. The dev-team already has pretty definitive ideas for this. This isn't really a new issue after all. In the future it will work like in MMO's. You want to log out ? You will have to deal with a 15 seconds (or something along the line) timer before you'll actually be logged off. While waiting for the countdown to end you can't do anything at all. If you alt+f4, crash or something similar your character will stay in game for 15 (or whatever it'll be defined as) seconds, even if you don't control the character/are in-game. Server hopping will be fixed by exponentially adding waiting-time each time you join a new server. First time you hop it'll be something like 30 seconds, then 2 minutes, 6 minutes, and so on. Can't wait for all that to be implemented.

It wasn't in his backpack, it had its on section like the M4 - so yeah carrying it openly.

I just looted someone who had a Mosin and a M4 on him. How did he do it ?
