2.8 ghz processor is unfortunately on the weak side for running this atm. More optimizations will(should) be made later on down the road and hopefully will get better but as for now even with an OC'd i5-3570k at 4.3 ghz I still see pretty wild fluctuations in fps. Also quite a few of the graphics settings when dropped to low will offload from the gpu and make the cpu work harder hitting your fps even more, even tho it seems wrong most settings will work best if set to normal so the gpu still manages them.

As of right now I'd say arma 2 is still worth the buy to play dayz (the campaign on the other hand .. bleh) as well as some of the other mods out there. The hacking/glitching is still out there but not frequently run into depending on the server you play on (private hive with good admins is your best bet) I know personally I'll be sticking to the mod for the most part until the SA is polished a bit more (instead of coming onto the forums with rage posting every time I encounter a bug)

Lower mouse DPI and upping in game sensitivity to compensate is about the only thing I've found to make this negative acceleration bearable.

Well standalone is not the mod and I think you misunderstand ... spawning a gun with a magazine does not mean that it will have ammo, in the mod it meant that I suppose but not anymore since you have to actually load the rounds into the mag. So just to clarify to you pistols should spawn with an EMPTY magazine, NO ammo. **On a side note, can you chamber single rounds into weapons with no magazine? I have never tried but just wondered this. If not would be a much needed addition, with the exception of a few weapons that have a magazine safety most of them could easily be fired with no mag (altho very slowly)

Agree completely, pistols definitely need to spawn w/ a mag most of the time (im totally against any ammo but a mag seems logical)

Same here on the rubber banding, zombies also seem to be all over the place (and this is with 70 ping and 0 desync) but I'm not here to complain about it, as stated many times before we are here getting an early peek at a work in progress and anybody expecting more than that should indeed take a long break.

lmao ... good stuff. I guess I always just thought the people that were actually left kinda know how to shoot/take care of themselves don't understand why there would be a bunch of inept no shooting people even left at the point the game takes place.

Even with 70 ping and 0 desync I still seem to rubber band back 100 - 200 meters pretty consistent every couple minutes while running. Hopefully the hotfix was just a temporary bandaid for the problem and they are coming up with a more effective squash for this bug :) ** Also - did the freakin mouse acceleration get way worse with the "fix" for high dpi mice or is it just me? It seems way worse now.

LoL actually, most of us understand completely that we paid for an early peek into the DEVELOPMENT of this game. It's nobodys fault but your own if you didnt read or listen to any of the warnings, why are you acting like this is anything past alpha? As stated in hicks little snippet this is where most of the bugs are created and/or occur, maybe you should just uninstall completely until you hear the game is finished.

They have actually been quite active and moving forward on the experimental, doing the right thing and testing before it gets pushed stable ... people bitch about new content coming out when no bug fixing happens and then people bitch when no new content comes out because they have been bug chasing/squashing. So many moronic topics are made anymore, I don't envy the mods here. -

Oh ya thats what you need to do, tell people .22lr doesn't hurt when it hits ya lol .... you hoping some people try it and natural selection takes its course? btw 1200 fps from a .22lr > 400 fps from an airsoft :P -
I could see this more of an idea for sidearms but nothing more. While I know nothing about the supression abilities of fruit I do have an adapter that will let me screw an oil filter onto the barrel and it is surprisingly effective when used with .40 or .45s First shot is quieted the most of course and gets louder each shot as it burns the guts out. I think some improvised limited shot supressors for pistols should be looked into and would be a decent addittion eventually.

Yes I realize this I was in no way saying that the .22lr should be as powerful as a 556 or 223 .. i was simply saying the actualy CALIBER of those 2 rounds is near identical, that is all. As for k9alex, go look up the definition of caliber. the .223 and 5.56 are the same freakin round to me .. I realize the headspacing is different and you can potentially blow up a rifle chambered stictly for .223 by feeding it a 5.56 but both get fed thru my ARs and act near the same

Funny thing is ... .22LR is almost the exact same CALIBER as a 5.56 (.223 *corrected sorry) just a huge difference in the bullet mass, as long as the distance isn't ridiculous a headshot from a .22lr should be expected to be lethal I would imagine. **another thing about body damage tho is with the low amount of shock that the .22lr round actually does create a person could theoretically soak up quite a few in the body granting no major organs or arteries were hit.

You pay the hosting companies that they have selected to use ..... unless they have been leaked pretty sure the server files are not available.

Pvpers do seem to prefer regular more but I suppose that is because peeking around corners would benefit them the most. I myself do like to pvp quite alot but also prefer the hardcore servers as firefights are far more intense and suspensful, not to mention you have to use squad tactics alot more so you can communicate with people that actually have eyes around a corner instead of 3rd person peeking (thats assuming you roll in a group and not lone wolf).
