Yay another post (posts) bitching about bugs they should EXPECT at this point in development. All I have seen from couple people in this post is them bitching (on numerous other posts) about obvious problems that should be expected at this time, and will be handled in due time. If you are unhappy with the current status/rate of progression then QUIT and come back later. (sorry baker :P)

My pc that i know can run dayz is staying at 20 fps?!
SaveMeJebus replied to ZachTheFriendlyNyegh's topic in Troubleshooting
If fps is actually degrading I would start looking for whatever is eatting up cpu cycles that shouldn't be. -
Isn't scene complexity in config file and the objects quality option the same thing? Why tell people to change it in 2 places, this is the reason people that don't know what they are doing get confused. Otherwise is a good guide for those that need help.

Everyone seems to want the game to mimic The Walking Dead.
SaveMeJebus replied to billyangstadt's topic in General Discussion
Ya I was going to dig up the post to link it as well but whats the point ... people don't read stuff, they just come here to bitch and complain. -
what's the difference between shadows HIGH and VERY HIGH?
SaveMeJebus replied to anarky321's topic in General Discussion
On low most of the graphic settings will offload from the gpu to the cpu and bottleneck most people more. If you can't turn it all the way off set it to normal or higher. Also if you can try supersampling over fxaa, the image quality is better and it will run better on some systems. -
I've got convinced to play 1pp more.
SaveMeJebus replied to SniperV (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
1pp has always been an immersion thing for me but judging by how the forum posts usually degrade into the needless 3pp vs 1pp skill debate, that seems to be the minority reason. Glad you have finally seen the excitement it can create :) -
This has nothing do do with why WarZ died but still .......no

Developers giving in to Demands?
SaveMeJebus replied to TerribleTomato's topic in General Discussion
It means he has no idea about any aspect of game development, and doesn't understand that even the things they add at the end of the alpha phase may totally break the game and cause unplayable periods and/or rollbacks. Alpha will always be an excuse in ALPHA phase (imagine that) ... as hicks just said in a recent post You are testing, NOT playing .... remember that. -
Think I will just stick to private hive :)

This is also what raises the most questions with me as well. I'm wondering what kind of effect there will be on a servers economy if a group of people server hop alot and bring the equipment all back to this single server. Will said server then become loot barren because these guys have packed so much crap from other servers in their camp?

Setting your graphics settings to low will often offload them to the cpu (which is usually the bottleneck with dayz) Good rule of thumb is if you can't turn it completely off at least set it on normal to keep it prioritized to gpu. That will help at least a little until you could upgrade or until dayz sees some optimization.

With the new animation system allowing you to actually draw the bow and still move around it should make the crafted bow a little less painful to use at least.
-
In graphic settings if you can't turn it off completely set it to normal or high. Reason being is once you set it to low most things are offloaded from the gpu to the cpu and bottlenecks the game further. I have the same CPU only overclocked to 4.6 and a gtx 760 and have no problems running the game in a playable state. Also check to make sure you got rid of any/all launch parameters, maybe check that core parking is turned off as well.

Well thanks to the future of DayZ being open to modders its pretty stupid to say anything won't be in the game ever. And once again I am glad gibonez is not a dev :P

Geforce Experience - Game cannot be optimized.
SaveMeJebus replied to Bigbadburts's topic in General Discussion
All GFE does is imports profiles doesn't it? This makes it no smarter than the person at Nvidia making these profiles ... I'll stick to manual settings altho *sometimes GFE can be a good starting point. -
I was in no way bashing AMD but the fact is dayz runs worse on AMD at the moment and better on intel setups. I have had NO problems ever with either i5 I have had and have had my current 3570k OC'd to 4.6ghz since day 1 so not sure why you would question me amd bashing and then turn around with some intel bashing. I do believe this will all be leveled in the end when they do sweeping optimizations and everyone will be able to get better than mid 20s max frames in the large cities regardless of hardware brand. :)

As of now AMD isn't the best performing with dayz as far as processors, and the cpu gets a heck of a workout with this game. It uses multi-threading poorly so is more dependent on single core speed (which is why the 2.3 ghz is killing your performance) the ram is also a bit low (ram speed helps alot with this game as well) but it is totally playable with 4 gig of ram and an adequate swap file you will just notice a bit more stutter at times.

What is this thread? o.O .... my brain hurts after reading this.

The game IS indeed using my 2nd gpu I forced it a long while ago. The gpu is not my problem, cpu bottleneck is evident as it is with nearly anyone elses machine.

Battleye won't let me accept agreement.... (Can't play because of this.)
SaveMeJebus replied to fearxjustin's topic in Troubleshooting
May be a problem with microsoft .net framework, pretty sure there is a repair tool if you wanted to give that a try -
Mid 20s framerate in the larger towns is pretty typical imo ... maybe I'm wrong, but fighting for frames at this point in development can be a frustrating and fruitless task. I know 25-28 in the larger towns for me is typical with an i5-3570k (oc'd 4.6), 8 gig ram, 2x gtx 760s and no amount of anyones parameter voodoo magic ever made it any better for me.

improvised 12 gauge + crafted Co2 explosive shotgun shells
SaveMeJebus replied to Wookieenoob's topic in Suggestions
I like the pipe gun as a craftable for sure, I do hope they add more improvised weapons in the future. As for the shells, I hope they don't ever get into any improvised ammo really to be honest. Even if they did though the co2 shells look pretty pointless :) -
Turning everything to low offloads it to the CPU from GPU and makes it run even worse (dayz is a cpu hog). Everything that you can't turn off fully set to normal or high, make sure scaling is 100% and AA is off. With those specs the game should be more than playable, framerates may dip into the 20s but its not a slideshow.

Nobody is trying to make you play FP they are merely having a discussion asking if changing the camera position in TP would make it a bit more immersive. There is no need to turn every post like this into a debate about who is better, it all just sounds elitist and stupid. For me personally the deal breaker with third person is the corner camping and not having to expose yourself to assess your surroundings .. its a huge immersion breaker for me and I choose to stay away from it as DayZ is all about atmosphere and immersion to me it has nothing to do with one being better than the other.
