Benchmarks don't lie, theres a reason that the whole top of the list is dominated by nvidia for now. That being said, with 4k gaming in the future AMD with its wider memory bus may very well pull ahead of the pack BUT for now nvidia is king. -

He was just saying that this has been beat to death as an idea and brought up numerous times. People should get in the habit of using the search bar before they make a topic (as its probably been thought of before and shot down) -
+1 to this, its a fairly simple process to deduce location from landmarks and would be great if they made it so you could draw on your map if you had a pencil.

Situations like this make me hope they add bean bag rounds to the shotty some day, it would have been a perfect solution. Your a nicer man than me though anyone with an AK in hands usually gets a double tap lol. -
Best option is to just play on a different private hive for a different character ... all I can see out of a second character slot is more ghosting or people leaving character #2 logged out in same area so they can hop straight on them for a revenge kill.

Cannabis actually dilates the blood vessels and causes your heart rate to rise as your blood pressure falls .. high heart rate wouldn't be beneficial to sniping I would think. The only kind of shooting that I could see it having an effect on is snap shooting not stationary, and how do you simulate that without adding some lame element such as aim assist? **and about the winded status, as odd as it sounds cannabis is a bronchial dilator and opens your chest up quite a bit. There is however a bounce back after the initial dilation effect wears off due to inflammation of the throat from smoking. (this is assuming it's smoked of course, vaporized or ingested is different)

Alcohol and weed REDUCE sway? wha? Lol and shadow creatures?!?! I need to hook up with your guy apparently. I guess all I hope is that the game someday gets to a finished enough state they can start to do small things like drug effects.

Lol that had setup written all over it. I'm sure there was somebody in the trees waiting to see shadows or silhouettes in the truck lights. Good call steering clear though I would have done the same.

Hopefully these performance issues will be improved upon soon, you are definitely not the only person having them but I'm not quite sure what is making the game absolutely unplayable for you :( You don't have a 32 bit OS do you? (sorry I have to ask some people don't realize that it limits the amount of ram you can use) Still game should be fully playable with that hardware, I never have any dips in fps beyond 20s for sure

I also have a 3570k (oc'd to 4.6) and a gtx 760, unfortunately with most everyone cpu is the bottleneck with this game for now until some optimizing can be done. You WONT get a constant 60 fps but with that hardware it should surely be playable. Your gpu usage is fluctuating so much because as the cpu gets maxed it struggles to pass instruction thru to the gpu and the usage % drops. You can actually watch your gpu load go up as you turn object count or view distance down and lessen the load to the cpu. Just don't set any graphic settings to low as they will typically offload from the gpu and bind your cpu up even more. I have no problems with the game being unplayable but max fps I see in big cities is still not much over 30.

Pretty sure it was a server performance issue with the masses of zombies they had on the test servers ( there were actually quite a bit) I'm just very glad they didn't COMPLETELY remove them like they were saying, at least you still get jumped randomly every so often.

Lol ... we are all fans but by god we will take every opportunity to disparage every bit of work you've done on the game! ..... that your attitude? Because that's how you come off frequently. People keep bitching about things that are very obvious placeholders or WIP so ya ... alphur is usually a very valid answer but people get mad because thats not what they want to hear.

Being able to tell somebody was in a town just because you saw zombies there as one of the biggest things I was happy to be away from with SA ... I think they are on the right track with what they are doing if people would just give them the time to actually do it. Game development takes years of work and anyone thinking different is ignorant. IMO one thing I really hope that standalone does that the mod had map wise was the mod seemed to give a much better feel that an apocalyptic event had happened and not that everyone just kinda vanished.

Hopefully once modding is implemented there will be a US like urban type of map, but I highly doubt the dayz dev team has the time for this type of thing right now just because a few people are "sick" of chernarus (which you shouldn't be chernarus+ is hardly recognizable as the same map as from arma 2) ** sorry for double ment to edit -

Yeah unfortunately 32 bit operating system will only recognize up to 4 gig of ram ... just letting you know my experience and the 2 friends I had with this problem both had 4 gigs of ram and the problem went away when I upgraded them to 8 as they both had 64 bit os. **Not saying 8 is what you need thats just what I ended up doing with theirs because I tend to stick with dual channel and they had a single 4

Yes it does matter .. you don't need to fly into every thread askin about performance issues and bitch at the people that suggest it may be something about their computer but thanks ..... I've seen this happen a ton to people with 4 gig or less of ram and a small pagefile .... ram gets full, its starts the pagefile shuffle and once things fill up you get this texture issue.

When i play, my FPS drops mass and the texture's get realy bad and glitchy!

Because a 4 gig ram limit would never hurt performance. Of course. .... Having 8 gig of ram and then using an OS that only lets you use 4 isn't a smart move either way. Your main issue is the AMD not the operating system like OP (not knockin AMD they really seem on paper to be a superior chip) but real world facts are that AMD single core performance isn't the best and as you said that is what DayZ is mainly relying on atm until things progress further and are optimized. -
.56 patch coming anytime soon? Is this game progressing at an increasingly slower rate?
