Wow .. even being haswell it should really only hit those temps if you are stress testing with prime95 or something I would think, that seems hot to me. What are you using for a cpu cooler? ** Temps actually seem typical for haswell chips, can't believe they purposely run that much closer to thermal limit than they used to. Your idle temps I guess is the only thing that seems high, most of the idle temps I saw were under 50C. Maybe a reapply of thermal grease or a better cpu cooler will help you out, or maybe you have a stick of ram that is giving you problems once it starts getting hammered.

How in the heck are insta-knockouts unrealistic? ... I'm not saying the mechanic that governs them needs tweaking but a 1 hit knock out is completely doable, especially if you catch somebody off guard. **After reading that back I just wanted to clarify .. I am not one that supports sucker punching people in your day to day activities. -

All I have to say is ... anybody that gets in front of my nozzle better watch out ^_^. Now back on topic, alot of this is wasted effort as they havn't even fixed the obvious problems that lie within so who knows what the final plan is anyways and I'm sure acceleration on/off is for sure an option (would solve 90% of any complaints). That being said, the best "realistic" option I have seen (I forget what game) is when you snap your mouse and do a fast spin your characters head would whip around but the gun would have a slight lag time of following the head as you kinda said towards the end. -
I will love night time a ton more when flashlights no longer shine right through walls ^_^

Oh, good idea! they should totally develop the game like they freakin are ....... holy god all these post "suggesting" that planned features get added are ridiculous, maybe they need to make everybody read Deans planned features post before they can post themselves.

The laptop GPUs lack the on board encoding chip that the new cards use to stream so seamlessly. That being said not sure why they wouldn't put it on there, shadowplay makes streaming/recording so easy anyone can use it.

Why on earth would you optimize something you are still building when your next "fix" will potentially just undo any optimizations that were managed. -
Aww, someone's mad the alpha has a bug ....... pretty sure they will fix this, there are a lot more constructive ways to leave feedback but I'm sure they appreciate your post!

I personally really like the idea of characters being bound to a server ... this usually means you will be running around with mostly the same people day to day (occaisonal strangers) and get to know those around you, who to help, who to avoid, etc. Now while I love this, I know others hate it. The only real way to appease both crowds is the public/private server seperation and I'm not really sure what all the uproar at this point is about as the game itself is still unmoddable and all private hive servers will still remain "vanilla"

intel/nvidia combos seem to have the edge running dayz for whatever reason (not saying amd is bad so calm down) that being said you can build a system with an i5-2500k cheap and then overclock the hell out of it (had mine at 4.5 on air cooling) and then spend the rest of what you have on the best nvidia card you can afford ... well after you factor in a solid power supply, ram, and a case of course :)

I seemed to have better fps than that with my old system which was very close to those specs. Do you run the game with the -winxp launch parameter? (also the That helps some. Other than that I'd say overclocking your processor would gain you some fps before the vid card bottle necked it.

Am I the only one that checked the config file even tho the button isn't working? ... config file says mouse accel is off for me (value = 0) what does yours say? -
I think there was an accessive amount of lag the last few days from those inbreds doing the ddos attack, and that was causing alot of the rubberbanding and lagging thru walls to be way worse. Hopefully they got bored and moved on.

Screw this ... bad enough we have to worry about server hoppers and ghosters spawning in behind you at any time, no way I would want to have to worry about a new spawn popping in possibly around me at any moment.

Never once used the numpad keys here .... hold alt, swing your mouse to look. How hard is that? Checking the config files for dayz (mine anyways) it shows the mouse acceleration value set to off, is it not off? I know the button in the options menu doesn't respond when you click it but the config files show acceleration as off so just wondered if it really was. (because I sure don't notice any) -
wanna make it a real MMO? devs read this.

Actually alot of this is already planned for the future (crafting, more players/zombies per server). Once things get rolling and the base architecture of the game is as sturdy as they need it, things will expand quite a bit. -
Desync for the most part should always be at 0 but unless your in a firefight its not a huge deal for it to jump up slightly for a short amount of time. Of course the higher the number the worse the desync (im not sure if it is counting dropped packets or what)

I believe bandwidth represents the amount of data being sent between client/server at the moment and desync is how out of time the client is with the server.

Shadowplay already can stream to twitch iirc, I use the hell out of shadowplay and love it (altho I don't stream) the vid quality is excellent and the performance hit from recording is unnoticable. And now back on topic, thank you to the OP for doing this test, I had always wondered why so many of the performance problem threads were amd lol (not bashing AMD I know they are quite capable and arma just isn't as AMD friendly).

First person only players need to band together

The immersion factor of 1st person only is huge for me .. the pvp in this (while much better) still has the cheap feel that warz did to me. Its all just a huge camping game about who can wait peeking around the corner in 3rd person longest. I'm not sure why there has to be so much hate between the 2 sides constantly tho, its not like both can't exist. I know(hope) first person servers are coming soonish though and am prepared for the wait. -
Or go play warz some more so you can shoulder switch to corner peak .... can't wait for 1st person only servers.

LoL I'm surprised he is allowed to publicly play this since he's all up in HPs ass ... unless he is obligated to just talk crap about it the entire time which he may be (I don't feel any need to watch his arrogant ass on any of his "pro" videos so not sure what was said)
