You where always a tester for the final product. The mod is in alpha, then it will enter beta then maybe be done. Mods either continue to have work done on them or they don't. They are not "profesional" games one has to pay for, they are modifications of preexsisting games. Games like Counter Strike and Team Fortress where once mods that eventually went standalone, yet both the mods still have communities to this day (as far as I am aware) even if they are nolonger being developed by the original devs. I see no reason why Rocket should keep working on this mod once the standalone game comes out, but who knows he might do. Just remember you paid for ARMA 2 not Dayz, just like you would have had to buy Half Life 1 to play Counter Strike or War Craft 3 to play DOTA.

I keep seeing threads about how the game is all about PVP now so I am begining to think I have this post burned into the back of my eyelids. Oh wait it is a slight variation on the formula, its from a player who has come back after a few months and not some butthurt noob. Still this is thread 1245196 about how the game is now just a PVP game. 2/10 will not read again.

Please cite evidence that there is a decline in players. The evidence on the Dayz website goes completly against what your saying. And last I saw there where something like 2000 dayz servers...

I prefer Black Mountain or black castle. Black castle is an evil place definitly worth the trip if you man enough...

Sounds like the OP idea of a sandbox is a game like GTA or Skyrim that holds you hand throughout and has NPC tell you what to do and how to do it. Anyway why come tell us why your leaving/taking a break? Are you famous or something?

As far as I can see the Dayz unique player number is rising as is the day to day user count. I think the OP is just another troll.

There not zombies... Ie their not dead. They are infected humans so I guess one can assume they retain enough of their humanity to open doors. Anyway the amount of work required to script and anaimate the infected banging on doors and busting them down would be better served elsewhere, atleast untill the standalone Dayz.

No matter how long you played or how well geared you are death can come at any time anywhere. At OP, keep persevering. If you feel you can't handle the big cities then avoid them and head to a barn or dearstand for guns and maybe some supplies. Look up one of the many loot maps available on the net. If you want city loot, and dont want much risk (in comparison to Cherno and Electro) head to the north east of the map to the third city Berzino. There is also a mil camp there with some decent loot.

Funny night time in the country on a moonless night with no light around and clouds in the sky look pretty dam dark to me, infact about as dark as ARMA 2 is at night.

Lol noob bandits. You kill a couple of guys then just run stright up to loot them and not even scope the area for anyone else. Your lucky they did not have a friend around.

I actually thought this myself awhile ago. You can role play a Bandit why not a canibal? Maybe make some suttle visual clues as to wheather or not someone is a canibal, like they wear human ears around their neck or something or even make them wretch if they eat standard food liek baked beans instead of human flesh. Maybe even allow a canibal who has eaten alot of human flesh be able to forage meat of infected.

Why do people keep going on about Warz. All it is so far is a bunch of photo shoped "screen shots" and a bunch of developer promises. So little is known about it, it is hardly worth mentioning.

If only all new players why like this. Once they get over the initial learning curve they can see how brilliant Dayz really is. Most seem to just want to rage and cry about how "hard" the game is and everything should be nerfed to their level. But I digress. Glad you are enjoying the game, one of the strengths of the sand-box world is that anything can happen so its differnt every time you play.

Yea your doing it right. Head north from there, make sure you loot the dear stand not far north of Kemenke along the road then either skip or loot the few houses in the first town then head to Zeleno super market and the house directly behind it. There is some other decent loot targets in the town but up to you if you bother with them as you should be set after the supermarket. From there head whereever you want. If you want to you can head to the NWAF or even cross the map to Berzino to get the city loot (hospital, mil camp).

I am a Lonewolf player and see no reason why clans should be nerfed. The whole vehicle hoarding thing deserves a look at however. It is a sand box game so developer intervention should be kept to a minimum. If players don't like the clan system then take the clan head on either by yourself or a group of like minded people.

Still funny I have been playing for two and a half months almost and I have only ever died to hackers once. My present character is on day 25. Maybe its just a region thing, and some regions have less hack kiddies.

Yep you should get any former mod that becomes a fully released game for free because you bought the game that the mod was originally made for meaning that the developer gets nothing for making a fully released and supported product. So you claim you have played Dayz for a few months and yet you die over and over again to bandits? I call BS that you are a two month veteran, your likly a noob who started playing a week ago. Banditry is much the same as it has been for a few months now.

Everyone dies you have to get over it. It does not take long to get your gear back. Also If you where shot there then you did not scout the area well enough. The NE airfield is a perfect spot for snipers so you should circle the area and check all the possible spots snipers can hide, especialy the hill on the east end of the field. Yes it can suck dieing, but you have to get used to it or stop playing.
