Its because most of the rage on the forums about how bad the PVP is and how it is ruining the game is over blown. People die to zombies or bugs 8/10 times but the two times they die to other people stands out more in their mind. Some then come raging to the forums to scream about it. Most people, as with all games, who are enjoying the game and don't find big probelms with it don't often come to the forums to post about it.

You did nothing wrong and should feel no guilt. It is shoot on sight in NWA, if you did not shoot him first I am 100% certain he would have shot you. Also I love that town Krasnostav, the super market is nice and there are a fair few lootable building. Also close to the NE airfield and Berzino. Still you need to be carful there as many players stop by in the way to the airfield.

I have seen it hit the ground. Not sure if it can hit you or not. I once logged in in the middle of nowhere up north in a thunderstorm and died 10 seconds or so later with full blood. Not sure if that was lighting or a bug, I am sure if I was one shot killed I would have lost blood. Besides I never heard a shot or anthing and I was in trees, not a place where I could be sniped from afar.

The humble tin can and empty bottle of Jack are the most valuable things in game in my opinion.

You could lie down on the ground and try to make a buzzing sound like a bunch of flies over your mic in local voice chat and hope they fall for it. It might work...

If I could be bothered to reconnect to the server every few mins after dieing horribly I might give some of these a go for LOLs. You could add go to NWA as a fresh spawn with no weopon and just enough food to make it up there and loot the barracks in broad daylight. Also find a bus and do regually run between Cherno and Electro and maybe even Berzino or the NWA, while picking up players on the way there.

What goes around comes around... You will likly die a horrible death sometime soon after you log in:P Oh and NO I am not that poor guy.

I love granades. It is always fun to follow someone into a town then toss a granade in their general direction which alerts all the zombies in the town which then converge on that location. I have never killed anyone with a granade but have seen them chased of by zombies atracted to the explosion.

Strange I have only ever broke my leg once by going prone in a doorway. Guess I am lucky or something.

If you like sandbox games and love atmotspere and tension, you will most likly like Dayz. Oh and you have to be ok with perma death also. The bugs are not that bad anymore, you can play many hours and not experiance one, except for maybe glitch zombies (part of which is to do with lag). Provided your careful when going prone through doorways or over rocks (basically don't do it) most bugs are rare. It can be a pain to get installed and patched up, but there are many easy installers out there that install it for you, 6 launcher among others. I, in no way regret my purchace, I have had many hours of enjoyment out of Dayz and ARMA 2 (which is what your really buying) is fun in of itself. There is nothing out there like Dayz and you will earn serius nerd creb by plaing during beta.

The only thing I will care about losing is my NVG. I have a rare and powerful weapon but considering an AK or enfield is about as good at killing people if needed the gun means very little. NVG on the other hand mean alot more to me. I have played about two months and finaly have a pair. Besides if I die I know where a whole bunch of tents are and I can get fully armed and equiped short of the high end stuff in no time.

I found a tent north of Electro next to a raod the other day. I think someone left it as a joke because I looked inside it and all I found was a collection of tin cans. Still made me lol, as I imagined some noob jumping for joy at finding a tent and expecting to hit the mother load only to be met with a pile of empty cans. So funny in fact I might do something like that myself one day:P

Nice story. I have to add that is that guy was experianced in Dayz there would be no way he would be holding a torch and no gun unless he did not care if he was seen or not. Only a noob would go into stary unarmed with a torch on, unless noone else was on the server. I had simialr feeling of guilt when I killed someone for the first time. It was another case of wrong place and a bad time.

When the axe is on your tool belt (the area below where your gun and back back is) right click it and a "remove axe from tool belt" option will come up. Click on that with the left mouse button and you will equip the axe. Reload the axe (yes you have to reload it at first) by pressing R. The inventory system is hell at first but once you learn it it is not so bad, and I would even go so far as to say I actually have began to like it.

While you where siting ther loading I was happily playing Dayz. True story.

See to many posts about "I saw DAYZ on youtube and saw guys in cars with cool gunz so I started playing and can't find/do crap". More people should watch videos by guys like Sidestrafe, they will give you a more realistic idea of what Dayz is. If you going it alone you likly wont get to do half the stuff you see groups of people do in youtube videos.

If your in the city then find the super market or office building, they will be full of suplies.

when you spawn on the beach, or are up to it, head west the Kemenke (think thats what its called) its the town in the far west of the map on the coast. From there head north up the road, after a km or so if you stick to the raod you should find a dear stand, loot it and move on. You will come to a town with a church (name escapes me and can't be bothered looking up map) with atleast two lootable building. Loot them or avoid the town. keep heading north and you will hit a big town, there is a super market on the southern end of the town that not many people go to. Loot the super market and, if you lucky, you will come out with a gun or two, some survival equipment, food, water and maybe even a tent or Alice pack. When I start out that is normally where I head and I avoid the cities, though will eventually head to Berzino, the north city for med supplies. Hope that helps.

I gather the OP must be slow on the uptake to have not figured out by now that you shoot first ask questions later.

SO if the game looked prettyer and had more polygons it would make it better? Wow what a moron. Even with the current engine, dated graphics and bugs, Dayz is still one of the best games (and the best mod) I have ever played. And I have been playing mods since the days of Quake 1.

I think they should add class trainers and Auction houses and make cherno a no PVP area with NPC guards. Make NW air field a 20 man raid and the NE airfield a 10 man. Make heroic versions of both. Make Stary and the castles 5 man dungeons that drop pre raid gear. Nerf anything the bads struggle with and make there be grave yards every Km or so so you can run back to your body. Also make there be flight paths. Kthxb.
