Anyone else think DayZ should switch engines?

AI????? Which AI do you mean? The Zeds? LOL! Walking through every wall, too stupid to walk up some stairs, seeing you miles away? The truth is, there is no AI atm for the most important thing in a Zombie survival game :-( And btw: Dean knew the problems before starting the SA. But they just wanted to make most money by getting a big piece of the cake from the zombie hype. They never wanted to make a good game.... -

I'm sure it will never be released. Not sure if there will ever be a Beta. Seriously, do you believe anyone will buy it in maybe 3-5 years, when other survival-games are based on much better engines? They just rip-off the fanbase, that's it! Dean will leave end of this year and you will see what happens then. Remember my words. -

rip-off because Dean "FU" Hall's only intension was making most possible money with releasing the SA. If he really wanted to build a great game based on his idea, he would have chosen a better/ newer engine to realise it. Fiddling on this old crappy engine is just a waste of time. This will never be a good survival game. -

Just two words for you, dear Dean: FUCK YOU! Just ripped all of us the $$$ and now you say with other words "there is no future for DayzSA"? I guess this will be the end, the SA will never get beta-status! WTF, better I would had bought some weed for the money :-) -

Just a question, if this is coming up later or if this is implemented already: When I collect items (food, clothes, etc.) and I decide to bring them to a (for me) save and hidden place eg. a deer stand to have some backups if I need them, will the hive save this or will they despawn after a while or when I logout? If this it not possible atm, will it be possible some day? Thank you

Only wright Dayz GB in the Filter and choose one of the servers in the list. Worked for me, too. Thank you!

Basic "Weapons" - like big branch or big stones - for more realism

Everytime I have to create a new player and respawn, I think about running to the next forest getting a big branch or running to the coast getting a big stone. I think for more realism it would be good, to make getting this Items possible. Same with a chair leg e.g. There is no Problem to break down a chair getting a piece of it. In real life no one would run around with nothing in the hand. First you try to get is somethink you can beat zeds or others heads. Okay they would make less damage, but when you hit often enough, it's okay for the moment. -

So I spent a few days and a very big part of every day now on the SA. I was very sceptic, if it will bring me fun. But for now I can say: It's really really good work up to now. One thing that I really don't like atm are the zeds. Okay, with an axe, you can get rid of them easily, but in the game I miss the more realistic actions of them. The distance, from they can see you for me is too big. Most unrealistic is, that they can walk through walls, fences and other things. When they get attention of me on a road or in front of a house and I run in that house, closing the door, there must be no chance for them, getting in. That would be realistic. They could stay in front, but not get in. When I jump over a fence, they must been stopped by that fence,, trying getting over it. So I think most important for me is to work on their actions, before adding more of them. -

So I guess you're wrong on trying out the SA :-). The SA uses that sucking old Arma 2 Engine, too. So there is no way into future. Rocket is still hunting in the past and I think this is the biggest problem of the SA. The SA will only be a new "Mod" based on the old mod with a simple new feature: The option to get money for that :-). jm2c
